To Restore Their Vitality I had to stay in bed two or three days," says Mrs. Warnie Scott, the attractive young widow who is prominent in social circles of our group in Birmingham, where she lives at 206 Ave. D, West. "I had been irregular since I became a woman and had trouble during my _____. At first I thought these pains would go away and I would have less trouble as I became older. But as time went on my trouble got worse and I began suffering from headaches, backaches and felt so weak and nervous all the time I didn't feel like doing anything. "I tried medicine after medicine and treatment after treatment, but none of them did me the slightest good. Then I began hearing so many wonderful things about St. Joseph's G. F. P. I started taking it. I had suffered so long I didn't expect much relief until I had taken several bottles; so you can imagine how surprised I was when I didn't have any trouble during my _____, although I had only been taking G. When a girl begins to suffer from headaches, backaches, pains in the sides and limbs, irregularity, loss of appetite, cramping, nausea, dizziness, SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 1925 RELIEF YEARS OF USING G.F.P. fainting spells and that awful run-down and worn-out feeling of weariness and apprehension which is so common among them so common among their nowadays, it invariably means either the proper steps must be taken to get rid of the trouble or these distressing ailments, will continue to get worse as time goes on, often ending in kidney, bladder or liver troubles of serious nature. All attempts to build up the general health of any girl who is being dragged down and weakened by any of these common disorders usually fail. This we now know is due to the fact that fully 90 per cent of these distressing ailments are caused by one dreaded malady—Catarrh of the Female Organs—which continues to tear down and weaken flesh, muscle and tissue faster than it is possible to build it up by any known means as long as Catarrh is allowed to remain in the system. Nothing could be more effective in overcoming and stamping out this dreaded malady, Catarrh, than the phenomenal medicine known as St. Joseph's G. F. P. is now proving itself to be in thousands of cases every day by relieving weak, thin and undernourished women and girls of their pain and suffering from those periodical disorders and quickly restoring them to health and happiness, with an abundance of vitality and energy. The enthusiastic and grateful words of thousands of women and girls which are to be heard wherever you go nowadays and are appearing from day to day in the press are a splendid tribute to the extraordinary merit and effectiveness of St. Joseph's G. F. P. and its amazing sales record of more than a million and a half bottles in the short time since it was first introduced to our women and girls proves its tremendous popularity. If your druggist hasn't got St. Joseph's G. F. P. send $100 and 25 extra bottles postage charges to the Pharmacy, Jermail, Tenn. for a bottle. Now on SEEK TO LOWER BARS AT HARLEM HOSPITAL SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 1925 SEEK NEW YORK CITIZ WITH MAYOR REPRESENT NEW YORK CITIZENS MEET WITH MAYOR IN FIGHT FOR REPRESENTATION ON STAFF --- New York, June 3- At a meeting called by Major Hylan in City Hall, Thursday afternoon, May 28, Dr. John J. McGrath, president of the board of trustees of Bellevue and Alpine, our group seeking to have Race doctors admitted to the visiting staff of Urtown hospital, that he was "in need" to see them realized, but that the majority of the present staff of the hospital threatened to leave if Neptuneians were allowed staff privileges." The committee held that for two and a half years efforts had been made to staff the clinic. They pointed out that this was vital since without this privilege no physician of our line can be available. Harlem hospital, a city operated institution located on Lenox Ave, between 125th and 131th N. in the Bronx, has a population of at least 200,000. They further brought out that 60 per cent of the patients are of our line, and are now forced to have white doctors. Taxed for Hospital It was further shown that the taxes that go to keep up this city owned and operated institution are more than met from resources originating Dr. West Resig of Schools Dr. West Resigns as Head of Schools in Baltimore Baltimore, Md., June 2—As the result of dissatisfaction by board members, said to have been brought to the attention of superintendent of public schools, recently named Prof. Charles W. Reynolds, now principal of the Booster T. Washington high school, Norfolk, Va., he said, the head of the schools, at the request of President Field of the board of education, tendered his reservation which was immediately accepted by Superintendent West had been at loggerheads with our citizens for two years, having been opposed particularly by the Parent-Teachers Federation, led by Mrs. Laura Wheatley. Surveys Schools When Dr. Strayer, Columbia university expert, surveyed schools here in 1820, he recommended a threease course for our students and our schools as in Washington, Dr. West, however, sought to place a figurehead officer in and later appointed Prof. Russell, now principal of the school, to be the head of the accepted, thinking his appointment was a real one. On his arrival he was humiliated with a threease position with no actual authority, but with the high sounding, empy title of "supervisor of Colored schools." He was even denied the right to pay one word about the high and training of the officers, but he blind for months. To cap the elitax he was paid a measly $2,500. After two years of waiting, trainees were offered promises and made bitter by the deposit of humiliation on every turn from his superior, Prof. Russell realized in the summer of 1834 and from August, 1834, until April, 1835. The quickness of it! The sureness! And best of all—though Nadinola contains one of the Nadin with our Racial group, and it eats largely to and is a center for our voters. The fact was brought out, too, that the city payroll for Harlem hospital includes at least 100 positions, such as cooks, chauffeurs, clerks, stenographers and superintendents, but not one was filled by a face man or organization. The North Harlem Medical association is also on record as favoring this more. It is pointed out that Harlem has numerous competent nurses, and the hospital served from one to two years as internes and resident surgeons in reputable hospitals. They number among them graduates from such universities as Syracuse, Howard, Long Island Medical, Harvard and Flower hospital. Prominent Doctors Present The meeting was a follow-up to the one held May 25, since the Mayor desired Mr. McGraw in person to hear the committee's claims and to state the commissioner's hurdles of the City Induction of the Dr. U. Conrad Vincent, Dr. Gouffre Nurse, Rev. A. G. Garner, Rev. Robinson, James C. Hubert, J. A. Rogers, and Mrs. Augusta Corbin constituted the committee. Mayor Hylan and the committee are said to have promised a careful study of the pieces presented. his cheap, meaningless $2,500 him up sleeve, until finally he made an offer to Prof. Reynolds, and it is now that our people at once got busy, and it is said that the board of education became convinced that the new appointment was not the man for the job, but the man for the business, made a strategic retreat by hastily resigning shortly after his acceptance, remaining at his old Virginia post. Disregarded Needs It has been handled about openly and often that Dr. West, who is said to be the "best" southern traditions about our people, constantly disregarded the needs of our schools, failed to their grouping needs, refused to use the ramshackle structures and persistently refused to give our teachers, especially those in the high and middle schools, relevance to the white teachers. It is a known fact that many reputable high school teachers have left Baltimore to teach in Washington in order to secure other educational discriminations. Just now the board is said to desire to secure "a high class man" for superintendent by raising the salary from $5,000 to $12,000. Since citizens now expect that a salary of at least $5,000 a year will be found for "a high class man" of their group to head their schools. They further hope that he will put in charge of all our schools here—high, middle, and lower schools. We will have sixteen real power. This it is contended, is the only way to reduce to a minimum the ill which are suffered here with a segregated school system. We need Dapel Miller and R. Maurice Moss are behind this move. How many times one hears this spontaneous tribute to a beautiful head of hair, the facial features may be plain, even to homeliness, but a BEAUTIFUL HEAD OF HAIR can and does make an otherwise homely person seem beautiful in the eyes of her fellow man. BEA HASN'T SHE BEAU to a beautiful head of hair, A. Dr. Lee's Tonic Hair Grower THE WONDER HAIR GROWER OF THE AGE! This wonderful tonic hair grower, the result of many years of study and research by Dr. Lee, has as its base those oils and hydrocarbons which most closely resemble the natural oils of the scalp, supplying the deficiency of natural oil caused by a diseased condition of the scalp and hair roots; it is medicated with those drugs, the purest, the best that money can buy, which science has proven will cause stimulation and growth of the human hair, and which have the necessary curative and healing properties to effectually eradicate dandruff, itotter, eczema and other diseases which cause falling hair, itching scalp, harshness, dryness and splitting of the hair. The very first application of DR. LEES' TONIC HAIR GROWER causes a pleasing sensation of medicinal action, the itching ceases, the scalp and hair feels a lingering, warming sensation which quickly softens the user that this does not simply a mess of greases doped with fool only knows what not, but a real medicine for what alls the hair and scalp! The glossiness and beauty begin to develop with the first application it proves by many thousands of testimonial letters of grateful users from all over the world. Read some of them on this page. Dr. Lee's Tonic Pressing Oil Many so-called pressing oils have been sold by hundreds of small manufacturers, mostly made of petrolatum wax and highly odorous oils; they make the hair greasy and sticky, and the first dampness which touches the hair after using causes the hair to return to its natural condition—a lot of time and trouble for nothing. DR. LEES TONIC PRESSING OIL is made from peculiar ingredients which have a tendency to PENTRATE the fabric of the hair, softening and relaxing both of the fabric which causes curling, under the action of the heated coil, this giving a degree of porosity, and also has tonic and curative medication which is a great help to the action of Dr. Lees's Groom and Shampoo. DR. LEES TONIC PRESSING OIL is perfumed with a daisy, delicious combination of floral odors which make it a delight to the user, as well as to persons who happen to catch the delightful odor it does not have that sickening hue so obsolete in ordinary "hair oils" and amateur made pressing oils. Dr. Lee's Sage Shampoo,50c A concentrated shampoo paste, sufficient to make one pint of a wonderfully effective liquid shampoo, strongly medicated with SAGE and other ingredients, having a tendency to darken gray hair; this shampoo is made from highest grade coconut oil, lathers tremendously and cleanses the scalp from dandruff, dirt, grease and other foreign matter perfectly.
