Hair is by far the most conspicuous thing about us and is probably the most easily damaged by bad or careless use. Hair in hair washing, we will have virtually no hair troubles. An especially fine shampoo for this weather, one that brings out all the natural beauty of our hair. It removes all dandruff, excess oil and dirt; can easily be used at a riffle expense by simply dissolving a teaser in a bottle and getting at any drugstore in a cup of hot water. This makes a full cup of shampoo liquid—enough so it is easy to use. It leaves the scalp spotlessly clean, soft and glossy richness of natural color, also much heavier than it is. After a cannibal shampoo, arranging the hair is free trial offer. Send two cents to cover postage. Addreza H. S. PETERSON, 1200 W. 12th St., Chicago, Illinois. 3-8-15

BUY IT NEAR AND WHAT IT MEANS
America is suffering from its attempt at a return to normal business conditions. Some of its markdowns have been forced to close down due to a falling off of their orders. The businesses and many of the industries have been forced to close down due to a falling off of their orders. The businesses and business men are pocketing a loss, selling their goods at reduced prices and urging the public to buy them. The businessmen have a secondary process of business may continue. It now "is" the slogan and for the good of all concerned it may well be heeded.
Because it caused the consumer to refuse to purchase all goods but those which absolute necessity demands. Such a determination by the public request in an overupply situation has caused a chronic. An oversupply of those goods made it unnecessary that more than the necessary amount of industries employed in their manufacture were compelled to close down. Unemployment resulted in the closure of commerce organizations and members of the public are mutually dependent. Each has a part to play in order that business can continue.
Individuals depend for employment upon the industries which produce goods and services, and divides it for the support which makes their existence possible. Goods and services, with a course of reasoning mean simply the turning into the stream of commerce that amount of money, an exchange for goods, which will keep industries busy.
It is an appeal to every individual.
It should be beaten.

MORE VISION. MORE PROGRESS.
It seems that the Southern States are becoming more and more jealous of their reputations and anxious that the opinion of their sense of fairness and justice be maintained at its highest point. Particularly is this fact being made apparent in regard to the daily papers show an indication to curtail news of lawlessness and mob violence in certain sections and the general tone of their editors' is beginning to become distance in its professed desire that a stricter justice shall prevail.
We are agreeably surprised to read the following editorial from the Jacksonville Times-Union of Feb. 15. "We feel specially pleased and specially proud of proofs that the Negro race is advancing. From purely selfish reasons every Southern man should feel the same interest in Negro progress. Whatever gains the Colored people make are added to the total gains of the state and nation in which they live. They cannot rise without to some extent pulling the white people to a higher plane and they cannot sink without pulling the white people down. Independently of the Negro race, the South cannot be robbed entirely of credit for the progress of the Negro race in the South. If the Negroes as a race were treated as some distant people imagine they could not thrive. The white people are helping them—not as much as they should—but are helping them and encouraging them as much as the white people of any other section or any other race. We are helping them—much better than those in the white settlements of South Africa.
But there is room for improvement. The white man rules in this country but he rules as a tyrant if he does not do justice. The white men of the South have credit for a greater degree of kindness and generosity than is shown in many other sections and though we think this superiority is largely imaginary the reputation of the South is not only not claim the undisputed right to rule without ruling justly. The Southern states are helping about Negro education, they are maintaining public schools for both races and Southern men contribute to a considerable extent to higher private schools for Negroes. But we should do more. The South is the home of the Negro and will remain his home and the more kindly the relations of the races in the South are the better it will be for both races." The Southern is the home of Kelsoville. Such sentiment shows progress of thought beyond that ordinarily encountered.
It is indeed a fact that the races in the South are so insperably linked that the success or failure of one vitally affects the condition of the other. As one advances the other must of necessity advance. If one attempts to hold the other back, it in turn is robbed of its opportunity for progress by reason of that fact, and even then such a truth would be speedily recognized and acted upon.
It would seem that the better thinkers among our neighbors would see that the efforts of those among them who profess a doctrine of proscription and denial of opportunity to the Negro are hindering them and causing all concerned to fall far short of their maximum development and success. It is important to note that opportunity for proof of the fact that co-operation along all lines of endeavor pays.
It is evident that lack of co-operation or actual repression hinders any group or section.
If the Negro is not given full opportunity to develop and maintain himself, he as a part of the section in which he lives, hinders that section. It is a truth which cannot be gainaid.
Lack of education, lack of opportunity, lack of civility, lack of protection of property, life and all of the manifold things which the Negro of the South must, because of a failure of his neighbors to see their opportunity for an hampered progress, forego, react upon the whole section and hamper-its full development.
Nine million people of any kind can vitally influence the condition of any section in which they may be. They can add much to its progress and can make it a step which does not allow for their attainment of their maximum development and production, they can impede its progress along all lines.
We hope that more of the thinkers among our neighbors will realize this fact in its fullness and begin to use their influence in ways calculated to further change the conditions now existing.
May they begin as a group to realize that our highest ambition is to be a better nation. We hope that speedily they may begin to act more nearly as some of them now speak—in a way calculated to result in peace, progress and prosperity. We are ready to help.

Recent press dispatches state that one of the Texas legislators is considering the introduction of a bill prohibiting the discendant 'either by his or her father, or his or her mother, of a person who was not qualified to vote in this state or any state of the union on the first day of January, 1860. Such a bill, if passed, would prohibit the voting of Negroes in Texas. A bill it would allow the unwillingness of anybody dedicated to the interests of the citizenry of any state. The spirit which actuates its making is undemocratic, contrary to progressive ideas, foreign to all ideas of citizenship and the rights which it carries and at variance with the spirit of the founders and defenders of this state.
We do not fear that in the event that such a bill is introduced, it will receive a hearty welcome. We know that the sentiment of Texas is away from, rather than toward the kind of sentiments that we are seeking in a law-making body seeking for progressive rather than restrictive measures.
Texas can well dispense with her discriminatory laws. She certainly needs no addition to them. And we feel that any attempt at adding to them is an attempt to hinder her progress toward righteousness.
We feel that the unrestricted denudation of such a bill represents an effort on the part of its author that is unworthy of one in this capacity of one who represents the people and strives for their progress and prosperity.

If the sensation caused last week by the alleged protests of members and directors of the Drama League of New York, against the invitation of Charles Gilpin, Negro star, to its entertainment of the teh leading American artists, gives us to feel that it is almost absolutely true that the color line protrudes itself into every field of American endeavor, it is no less true that the final outcome of this affair gives room for the conclusion judgment and fairness also act to control prejudicial temencies.
Charles Gilpin, star of the latest stage success has, by his genius and ability, gained a recognition seldom attained by any artist. He has contributed to art and his contribution should be judged for its worth without consideration of the color of its contributor. Genius knows no color line. If the time shall ever come when, because of prejudice, seek to make color a reality, he will be able to make the society will cease to be benefited to its full extent and efforts by which society has always advanced will cease to be put forth.
Paul Robeson, football star of Rutgers College recently attended a Columbia University dinner as an honored guest. There was no dissenting voice at his presence for as the president of the Senior class stated "he is one of Columbus most brilliant men and a widely known singer and football player." There are still a few four square men let.
It would seem that he Georgian who are taking the Attorney General to task for removal of the condition of Negroes would seek to remove the conditions which made the criticism possible rather than suppress the critic. If the condition remains, scorer or later somebody will speak out.

THE MIRROR OF PUBLIC OPINION
WHAT HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
Have you ever thought what it must have cost Lincoln to write the Enemigation Proclamation? None knew better than he what it would mean to the South. He knew that to some the loss of the slaves would mean suicide; he knew thousands would be bankrupt; he knew that the rebel army would be under attack and that he would die and that Lincoln knew right that all men should be free. He was equal to the call of the war. He wrote his immortality into the Enemigation Proclamation.
Woodrow Wilson came upon the scene in American life, in an era when there was a rising tide of a new freedom. He had a chance in the first years of his leadership to point the way for women, who together with submerged classes were resiliently murmuring everywhere, but he failed to understand the realities of the small and pevish man, claiming that the women, had insulted him, thus dodging the real issue, their fundamental right to the ballot. He saw Mexico in turnpell, and he at once showed a disposition to decide this matter, more on a basis of what American dollars desired rather than what right; he heard of the war of the Negro through "Trotters" voice, and was peeved at that; he sat silent while lynch law ran in the South and like Splaxx, gazed in understandable oldness at violence between them.
And then the World War came. The crest of the wave of restlessness, the cry of freedom, the wave that marked the peak and the heights of the 20th century humanity; a wave that focused its voice in the slogan: "The right of the voice of man to be heard in their own governments," and the other which read, "A fight to save the world for Democracy." Here he spoke of the need to protect the people from the caution of Roosevelt, who cried "Prepare," we see him turn and loan his ear to the cry again of class and dollars, miserably he falls when he permits America to engage in commercialized greed at the out-set of the war, for did we not furnish money and implements of war to Germany at the out-set? On we swept, towards the inevitable, the inevitable which Woodrow Wilson seemingly could not see, the Universal clash. "Twas then that peace would be said," he said. "And peace would be said when him standing at the Peace Conference, an outstanding figure, outstanding because he represented America, the greatest nation of the earth. Again he had his chance and failed. He failed in every line that penned an agreement to stolen "Shantung"; he failed in his conception of "Self Determination of Peoples"; he failed in his Humanity towards Germany and he failed, in properly safeguarding his own country.
The curtain rings down on the 4th of March and in a few years Wilson will be forgotten. How different it might have been, for if he had had peace, he would have been standing in the column with immortals! He had his chance but failed—Black Dawn.

the conduct of Senegalese troops in Haiti have run their course. The lies about the conduct of Senegalese troops in Germany that were manufactured in Berlin have run their course. Certain German propaganda have for months been telling how France had quartered hordes of "African savages" in German territory and how these "savages" were daily committing outrages upon German women.
These German propaganda, of course, were opposed to any kind of troops being quartered in Germany, but they saw an opportunity, because these troops were black, to appeal to the natural race prejudice of England and the United States. In fact, in the propaganda which was circulated in the United States, a direct appeal was made to the American lynch-makers. The question was whether the cooperation of black Africans and white German women would be sufficient to arouse America against France and against the occupation of German territory.
o tsemipilob indofficial suedayest enttates vdinfmat gat jethoneisner它 in spite of the investigations and official statements issued by the French Government, and in spite of the denial of these stories by responsible Germans, some of them German women, they continued to be circulated. The question has finally been brought to a head in the United States by a letter addressed by Senator Spencer to Secretary Colby, Secretary of State, asking for information, and the reply from Secretary Colby stating that there are now no Senegalese troops in Germany, and that the stories regarding the conduct of these troops were grossly exaggerated. Secretary Colby officially states that out of the great number of charges against the black Americans, the case of unquestionable guilt. This establishes the fact that the black troops that were quartered in Germany were not any more criminal than white troops would be under similar conditions.
Commander Galbraith of the American Legion nailed these lies in a less diplomatic, but in a more emphatic manner, than Secretary Colby. When Edmund von Mach asked Commander Galbraith to speak against the occupation of German territory by black African troops of the French Army, the Commander rose up and said, "There is the door. Ge to hell out of here."
We believe these lies against African troops in Germany have been nailed for good. —New York Age.
SOME SOUTHERNERS TACKLE THE NEGRO PROBLEM.
White leaders and Negro leaders in the South are together starting a movement to do away with lynch law and to settle the relations of their races on a basis of sense and justice. Under the sponsorship of the Y. M. C. A. and with funds donated by the Y. M. C. A., a Christian leaders' conference held in every state south of the Mason Dixon line, and 33 whites and 26 blacks are giving themselves entirely to the movement.
White demagogues would be taken aback to realize the extent of this attempt at solving the radical problem. Negro radicals have no realization of growing desire on the part of some southern whites to see the problem settled. A new spirit of teamwork and trust in manifesting itself. The program calls for the establishment of councils, committees, and task is to try to better the relations between white men and black men and to promote the whole welfare of their respective communities.
The program calls for justice in the courts and for opposition to lynching; for the square deal in economic and educational affairs; for improved living and sanitary conditions and recreational opportunities; for better accommodations for black travelers on railways and steamers; for welcome to the returning Negro soldiers. The program does not yet attempt all that is desired and intended, but it aims at all that is considered practicable at present.
The ruling idea in the movement is that the racial problem of the south can be really settled only by brotherly fellowship of the white man with the black man and by refusal responsiveness from the black man to the white man. All depends on the two recognizing the respective rights and duties of each other and on both parties coming into sympathy with each other. Religious relations from the black man against the black man must be discarded. The passion of the extremist black man against white men must be cant away. The two have to wipe the slate clean and make a fresh start as Americans and as believers in democracy—Spokane (Wash). Review.

"A HINT TO NON-CHURCH GOERS"
Mme. Anita Faitl Brown Appears In Rectal.
A Christian is the highest style of man. We are living in a world where every thing at times, seems to be nothing but unrest and change. We need wisdom and a child that has lost its way, the Church stands steadfast and strong—"A rock in a wavy land!" Men may forget that they need a child for a time but there is that stability—that steady influence for good which allows all to be unstoppable. That all other help is unworthy. Faith, Love, and the Church, which is built upon these three foundations, stands for the things which make the world a good place in which to live—the things which make Port Worth the place to live. You have realized that No man, therefore can abide in peace and safety and happiness without the Church. Have you realized that Church your active support in her efforts to lift up men?
