PAGE THREE "where brawn meets brain" THE CRIMSON TREANGLE DEFEATS HEAVY PURPLE Austin, Texas, Oct. 20 - Samuel Hutton trumpets over Prairie View with a score of 31-0 on Culberson field today, when the crimson elephant, outplaying the heavy Prairie View team in eavry department, made four touchdowns and one field goal. This is the first Crimson Victory over the Purple machine in several years. In the second period, the Purple downward and a field goal in the first period, one touchdown each in the second, third, and fourth periods. The first score came within the first five minutes of play when Russ intercepted a Prairie View forward pass and ran 50 yards to the goal line. Russ kicked goal for the extra point. A few minutes later, Prairie View fumbles the ball, giving Russ his chance to kick the only goal in the second period. In the second period Russ passes to Alexander for the second touchdown. Russ passes to Owans for the extra point. In the third period, Owens makes the most sensational spectacular run of the game for the third touchdown. He interwives himself in and out of the twenty-two outtretched arms of the entire Purple team, to end across the goal-line. Alexander intercepts a Prairie View forward pass and sprints 20 yards for the fourth and last touchdown in the fourth and last period. Russ kicks for the extra point. At no stage of the game did Prairie View have a chance to win or score. Late in the first period they showed a Versailles attack that finally swept the Crimson eleven off the field. Strengthened and Prairie View leashed the ball on downs. Samuel Huston team with one of the most versatile attacks seen in recent years, completely dazed the Purple team. When stopped from tackle to tackle, they would kick, kick or skirt the ends for substantial gains. In the exchange of points the Crimson triple threat meant Harben, Owens and Russ outdistanced the kickers of the Purple team. The Crimson Triangle of Herben, Owans, and Russ, was the sensational part of the game. The brilliance of their running, kicking and passing outshone the individual play of their team-mates. Harben made a sensational run through the entire Prairie View team of 10 yards to be down on the Prairie View ten yard line. Owens made a phantom run of thirty yards through the Purple team for a touchdown. Russ intercepted a forward pass and ran 50 yards through the opponent's team for a touchdown. Harben made a successful pass to the players of the Purple team. Marks receiving of a forward pass was one of the features of the Prairie View team. Pollard's kicking prevented the Crimson team from making a larger score on the Prairie View team. Turner gained considerable ground whenever called upon to carry the ball. 1 No Longer Ashamed of Her Hair HOW she dreaded to go out where other girls could see her. PIGGLY WIGGLY TOMMY A Statement of the Facts in the Sheriff's Contest Showing why YOU Should Vote the Ticket Straight for Schuyler Marshall: I also apologize for ever persisting in straight. There is talk in some states that a judge who has been judicially convicted of a crime country is one of law and order and of determining the true facts of the case. I am not at all dissatisfied with the Court's decision in the Arizona case, but at Duluth County, where I was involved and ably by the judgment and deserved a fair hearing. A DOLLAR I know I don't amount to much these days, but I'm sup posed to work for you just the same—to help you get some of the good things of life. But there are so few places where I can do anything worth while alone. For instance, it takes a regiment of my tribe to capture a single automobile. I'm a mite when it comes to paying rent or buying coal. PIGGLY WIGGLY I'M BIG MONEY! That's one place where I'm still able to do something worth while for you. That's why I like to work there. When I'm enhanced, I have gathered the biggest and best assortment of fresh vegetables and foods of known quality that money can buy. I enjoy going to Pingy Wiggy stores because people appreciate what I do for them there, and they enjoy going there. That's why they almost invariably go back after they find out how much I can do for them there. People find there wonderful displays of the world's best food, all plainly price marked and so arranged that they can see and inspect the entire store, get ideas on what to buy and avoid distractions. They help themselves, just as they would in their own pantries. There's no waiting in time to get what they want, nobody to hurry, to urge them to buy, or to accept substitutes or shelf warmer. People can take their time, make careful selections, and still be served in less time than in an ordinary food store. People get quality products at lowest prices for their money at Pingy Wiggy. That's why so many of them buy there exclusively. county, two, two.
