Other Negro concerns and organizations, with the wonderful advantages and excellent results derived through the medium of broadcasting programs, have the wonderful influence if the programs have any unusual merit.
Negro insurance companies, fraternal and other organizations can reach out to Negro audiences radio which they could never hope to reach in any other manner, and we have the abundant value of newspaper advertising.
In other words, the Negro must augment our advertising radio advertisements by abundant talent we have in the race, some stellar programs could be prepared to much good in more ways than one.
Expressed differently, we must use the radio to tell our racial story to the Negro, and we are living in a literal radio age.
We learn, with much regret, the untemptly death which overtook Honorable Ernest G. Tidrington at Evansville after a fatal shot by an enraged member of the race who charged that the slain man had "hounded" and "persecuted"
Mr. Tidrington, recognized as one of the leading lawyers of his state and country, is the author of the Colored Knights of Pythia of North America, South Australia, and New Zealand, and as such, is supreme counselor of the Court of Calanthe, presiding over the organization of the Pythians. He was also grand chancellor of the University of Australia, having high in political ranks, having been mentioned prominently for registering as a member of the Coolee college administration. He hold many high offices during his lifetime and was one of the race leaders appointed on a national basis in the Australian government. His presiding and uniformly passive be deplored and we motivate the family and fraternity his tragic death.

Ruler Will Seek Leadership Again At Detroit Parley
PRESIDENT
Detroit, Mich.—(ANP)—"I'm the grand exalted ruler until next August," then I choose to run," said Finley Wilson here last Sunda y afternoon. The grand exalted ruler was addressing the midwinter confab and pre-convention meeting of the high powered executives of the I. B. O. Elks of the World with the local convention committee which was held in this city Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, for the purpose of "ironing out the kinks" in the old convention sheet which has been folded away since last August; and to layout and emphasize the well regulated convention plans, as well as to officially notify and present to the public the 31st convention, and the Elks of the World which convenes here next August.
Such diplomatic as Grand Exalted the Honorable John A. Ruler Abbey Johnson (Grand Quire Stephen Ball; Commissioner of Education Judge H.W. Huston, and State Association, sat in conference with the local grand lodge convention committee which has to do with the convention. The convention, in several weeks some little disruption seems to have been creeping into the ranks of the convention committee here and while not creeping into the ranks of the convention committee, referring to someone at the convention committee, picked it up and placed it along. If it would have no doubt disrupted the harmony and the smooth working of the convention.

BUREAU SEEKS NEGRO TO HEAD RADIO SECTION
New York City—At the last meeting of the board of directors of the New York City-based 875 Riverdale, it was definitely voted that the bureau should extend work to coloured artists and professional presentation to auditionees. The Directorial Service Bureau manages some of the highest paid artists in concert, stage, radio, screen, and film. One of the outstanding successes of the department is its representation, through its involvement in establishing the Edward Franke Goldman company, which he interests in establishing in the early 1990s. This decision will mean that hundreds of coloured artists will earn upwards of per artist, and that the announcement is the good news that the bureau will open a sub-office in the upstreet district of New York City with a radio sub-station, and one of the two leading broadcasting systems
The bureau seeks a man of business knowledge, or education, some knowledge of the job, at a salary of $3,000 per year. The position will be in full charge of all contracts, and must be able to detect an announcement over the radio. Business firm and people will be invited to write to the bureau, recommending some recommendations will be presented to the men interviewed and a selection of communications with reference to this position must be addressed to the bureau. Liam has bloomed into a maiden of exotic beauty. She has been identified with an intellectual group where her hands, conditioned, handed Liam a pair of gloves and a fitted much tucked dress.
Liam is now a member of Charleston's intelligence, where she meets North, is learning Negro painter and violinist. He is very talented and has a great sense of humor.
Liam is considerably disgusted with her lofty associates. One day she asks Helen that in spite of the fact of the desire to be prominent of the New York City scene, Liam must "defend" their "daughters" to the Gardinia Whitmore, a mutable beauty and the true flapper type, seeks a companion, but Liam, because of her refined nature, is rather Gardinia has aimed to accompany her on a "wild" party. After much ward conflict, Liam agrees to accept her accustomed home, beginning the sensitizing life of the party.
Prince, the villain shell, whose favor is coursed by all the fair diamonds, is attested to Prince. He proceeds to give Lissa a "good time". Prince does not meet with the approving Lissa, the princess, Lissa's mother, and their frequent couple are about to go up another of their frequent auto rides. The auto ride ends at dance, where the crowd calls a victim to Prince's had liquor, Gardinia, a member of the crowd, recovers from her intoxicated spell until she has discovered that she is not the victim.

Hamba senses the danger and immediately summons Hugar, who, having been toothed, is able to escape. Hugar, the beringer, recognizes the necessity of immediate action.
Hagar remembers an isolated cabin crenaded by "Prince" during the latex's under-world activities there, she and Kara set out for the mountains. When they arrived, the door they find Lissa seated in a corner with her dress torn and armored, they lie below the knees. "Prince" stands in the same manner.
Lissan leaves him to Mambas a nurse and together they leave the cabin. Hagar completely forgets her nurse, and he leaves her alone. Mambas struggles to help him, strangles him to death with her bare hands. Hagar is forced into hiding. Mambas sends Lissan to New York City, where Salai Wentworth meets her. Mambas sets up the home for the Reverend Thomas Gray, who, upon their arrival, often Lissan the protection of his home—especially after he produces the address given to her mother many years ago.

She had been a child of a long ten days; and with her faculty for expelling from her mind all that can cause discomfort, the tragedy of Gluten's disease and the garbage were already as completely dissociated from her life as a printed story in a book that has been replaced with only one impression remained sharp and actual—Hagar, who in that hour characterized that parent that it had pleasured

It was strange that she could feel no contrary, a latent savagery in her own nature caused her to feel so contrary, a latent savagery in her own mother, and a realization of a kinship closer even than that which Out of the sheltered life that Mamba had provided for her with its dependence upon the protection that civilization had created, she had crashed suddenly into her helpers and had been helpless. During that hour when Bluton had held her captive, and behind the shack the swamp voices of her mother nocturnal conflict, had had it in her heart to kill, and only the man's fingers from tearing at his throat. Then Hagar had come, terrible in her direct and unfettered simplicity, and never to be ever harmed. After ever to harm her again. After the years of separation Hagar had stood up to the particular kiss she found in her arms. Her reason told her. Then, in the moment of parting, had come the climax when the particulier kissed her and found herself in her arms. Her reason told her she should be shaken of her mother, yet by some strange paradox the thought of her was a swift infusion of want—a sudden, inexplicable pride where before there had been a sense of want—a sudden, inexplicable pride life she quickened to the realization of all that Hagar had done for her—week for her musculus clothes. And she had never even gone to see her mother, told herself, "I'll be able to make it up to her before long." Now that Salinik had undertaken her training made in New York.
She took the brown-stone steps of her mother, and vivid flash she saw. Mamma's face wearing its moll of ferocious disaparency, she said. What lady? What the hell! Now she was free—neither a lady of the Broaden Attikson with at least, will of her own—nothing behind her, and every step she took, for her around the corner.
She let herself into the dim coolness of the hall. In the drawing room she sat, with her glasses, and Ada, Grayson parted the portieres and kissed the girl affectionately. With her glasses, her slow, slow smile, she kissed her husband in appearance. Lisa had liked her from the moment when the men of them had sat together after Saturdays. The room and room and Ada had watched her husband and Ada's face with dividing intensity; she had really wanted her to be he had really wanted the girl to stay and was not merely submitting to a command of conscience, had taken her affections without reservation.

An unusual beverage which never fails to delight guests is coffee punch. It is a sweet, creamy drink that no one wants the season of the year. Here is a recipe for a large batch of coffee punch. In a bowl place a block of sugar. Make your coffee by the drip method, which means it should be finally poured into the coffee cup. Add fragrant flavor. The coffee should be fully a half stronger than usual because of the dilution by the ice. It is a good substitute for this punch. It is poured over the ice and then a cup of heavy cream and two-thirds a cup of powdered sugar. It is poured over a layer of vanilla ice cream, which should be placed in the punch bowl in large quantities. Mix maraschino cherries and their juice—the cherries add the Turkish touch. When the punch has become thoroughly chilled, it makes a popular drink at any party.

Because we never know when we are going to die or what our financial condition will be when we do, we don't know what we can do or we have the feeling that we prefer a final resting place in the cemetery rather than the potter's field and the graveyard. We don't have nothing to these near and dear who survive us.
Because we never know when the house in which we live is going to catch fire and destroy all of the things we have laboured for and treasured, we know that our fire insurance. We know that every article of furniture, every picture, every book, every number of hours of labor and loving care, and if we are to lose it in a fire, we must get back more money to move it.
Since we well know that this can happen to any Negro, it is strange that a Negro can take out insurance against such an eventuality. There is absolutely no guarantee that any individual Negro can take out insurance against no fault of his own that may end in a lawsuit. There is a cently instance of that in New York where Negro riders in the subway were set upon by white sailors, and the riders rage with the commandant of the Brooklyn navy yard and as a result were attacked by all of his men warning them against attacking Negroes and even perniticating them on board the battleship.
Again, a man moved into a house in Jamaica, New York, in a so-called smashed by white hoodlums and the peace and safety of his family. He immediately on the job, had a police man assigned to protect the family and made a search for those who had it. It seems to me that the National Organization offering protection against many crimes, is an excellent insurance against the increase of these lilies. For organization offering support to it or quibble over giving such support for childish, narrow reasons, are just cutting their nose to the bone. Indeed blind who cannot see the necessity and value of the insurance injustice offered by the N. A. C. P.

The asterm of criticism that has been provoked by that "Midnight Paddle" to Lowry's State Theatre is in no way an unfortunate moment. As a matter of fact, there was nothing new nor radically different about this back-door incident. All our lives we have been going through with back-door doors, except at a few places where we have had the special privilege of going through a side door, on occasions when there is more room than we have had, or white people, Mexicans and Chinamen. It is only natural that some of us should be prepared to face the side-door, a side-door-cap that we are unable to see the badge of inferiority and degeneracy we attach to, we are unable to arrange. Who woman regrets her personal appearance is displaying a symptom of something more seriously than dirtily, the woman greases the dirt car. Bedridged hair, an unwashed neck, black-bordered hoodier coat, and greasy certainly mean it all, but they indicate that something may be wrong in a person's mind or body. The woman who has a daily tshirt or shower, who keeps herself daintily dressed, how she looks and known she is, is more aliveness that is the very essence of the woman about the food she食 about the health she食, and the balance of rest and exercise which keeps the human man healthy.
Beauty, we have long since learned, is more than skin deep. But con-
tinue to learn, we learn to skin and go deeper. There is a meaning for personal pride, as well as for cars and houses, in the familiar slush. "Save the surfboard and you save all."

PUTTING GOD'S KINGDOM FIRST
LESSON TEXT - Matthew 6:1-14
(Print text: 6, 10, 12, 19, 21, 23)
GOLDEN TEXT-Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you
PRIMARY TOPIC—Being True to Jesus.
JUNIOR TOPIC - Being Loyal to Leaders
INTERMEDIATE AND SENIOR TOPIC - Young Leaders AND ADULT TOPIC - Putting PIRAT Things Pirat
Having set forth in the previous chapter the standards of the kingdom, Jesus now exhibits the underlying men to be among them. Doing before men before men is not condemned as that would contradict Matthew 5:16, but the doing of them before men to be condemned is not contradicting our slims is to miss the reward of our heavenly Father. The true child of the kingdom will seek privacy and have the open reward of the Father.
II. As to Praying (v. 5:15)
This constat is (1) Praying to be seen and heard of men (v. 5). Many of the prayers uttered in public are what the people think than of what God thinks. (2) Using vals repetition, we should ask once for a given thing. We have examples of Christ and Past praying three times for the people (v. 12, 17, 8). It means the using of meaningless repetitions. The reason is "Your Father knew what things you did to him" or "ask him." 2. True prayer (v. 8). Since prayer is a transaction of the people, the desire for fellowship with Him moves one to meet Him in the secret place. The model prayer (v. 9, 15).
(1) Blunt the moral and spiritual perceptions (vv. 22, 32). Those who believe in the moral and spiritual world soon become irrespective to spiritual things. When the heart is upon earthy treasures, it is taken to heart and is sent up to the strum to spirituality. (2) They render null and all service (vv. 24). As soon as one's heart is stolen by an unkind instrument for spiritual service. V. As to Faith in the Heavenly Father (vv. 25, 34). You not know about food and clothing (vv. 25, 34). Because (1) it shows disgust of God (vv. 30), God is able to supply children's needs. (2) It is necessary to be faithful while bringing us nothing. It weaken our service. (3) It is heathenism that must trust God may worry over temporal affairs, but those who know Him as a loving Father, will be free from cancer. (4) We must seek the kingdom of God and serve Him (vv. 33, 34). This means that moral affairs should be subordinated to spiritual

How often do we slap for opportunities of doing good, which we often do in our own little things, which would frequently lead to the accomplishment of most of our goals.

The infection known as "malta fever" has been reported in pre-Christian days in Mediterranean regions, results in months or years of fever, and can be cure, the Tulane professor in charge of the investigation said. It is oocyte-graft from handmade of infected cattle or from contact with workers in the dairy, dairy owners, milkers, or any other individuals caring for cows, goats or other cattle with the infection.
Malta fever is known to have existed in early periods from descriptions of Europe but was not introduced into the country. Obeyed Orders At Risk of His Life
By GEORGE JONES
MOSE Morton, formerly of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, lived through a terrible experience, when his master instructed him to guard the priceless diamonds he left behind in an enormous house near Egypt Mills. In this small town Mrs. Andrews, sister of the employer of Mose Morton, resided in the winter month. In fact, the experience was so unusual that Mose had stepped, almost before he realized it, into the spotlight of the state. All eyes are on him, and no doubt, before another month has passed, Mose will in some way be rewarded for his faithful services. It is known that the employer, Tom Wate, is now planning to surprise his

brave employee with a nice sum of money. For not only did he save the fortune in diamonds that were left in his hands, but he was instrumental in capturing the leader of the robber's gang, as well.
Mr. Watee took his departure from the house, bound for a country dance, to see Moe. pearl bury, pearl kill. Moe nodded man, manifesting that he did not hesitate to die when the occasion came up a short while later. Just how Mr. Watee happened to learn that Watee was an employee in uncertain, but it is established that Watee is a jewelry valuables home with him over the week-end. But as that he was he moved to a house, with a foundation in the yard, flowers, summer houses, tennis courts and everything. And Watee had all his trips, with a foundation in his selling trips, in his possession.
Some times Watee had to take back some gems that his customers bought, and besides them, he usually carried a fine display of samples. At any moment something like thirty thousand dollars in diamonds which he gave to
The band of robbers made their headquarters in the railroad tunnel (pictured above). Three of them waited here while the leader slipped up to the home, believing that the black robe would frighten the escaped kid. The band intended to hide the diamonds in a hole made in the wall of the tunnel.

He determined to die before anything of that sort could happen. "All the other help had gone to the dance," he said. The board having named this strip above the garage door that morning, to stop up a crank through which snow sometimes falls."

When Mose fell into the grate he hurried his hands. His clothes caught fire. He fled for Mose had picked it up before firing a shot. DOWNTOWN FISH MARKET NEEDED
Whether Negroes are to be permitted to serve hereafter as
clerks in the fish and oyster stalls at the City Market or not, the
fact remains that colored Houston needs.a downtown fish and
oyster market of its own; for local residents of color purchase
and consume large quantities of seafood throughout the year.
Having been accustomed to doing most of this kind of shoppi
downtown, their trade grew to such proportions that sevens! ol
the white dealers in the City Market employed colored clerks to
serve colored customers:
In several respects, Houston is still on the ee order, where
moat of the people come “downtown?” to buy «helt wares’ during
th week-end, and records show that Friday. and Saturday a
banner seafood days in Houston. 4
