Blacks to Fight Against Whites
The New Book By A White Author Shows Rising Tide Of Color Against Op-
COLORED NUMEROUS
Latest Statistics Show Twice As Many Colored People In The World As White
New York City, May 20—"The Rising Tide of Color" by Dr. Leonor Stoddard, is just off the press of Kristen Scribner Sons and has created a sensation among the colored and white reading. In a way, the number of some boldly asserts that the colored races of the world are tired of race domination and are preparing for the greatest war. According to Stoddard the colored race which cost three hundred, ninety billion dollars and thirty-three million casualties, will be a small conflict in comparison with this great war which is to come.
Here is the way forces will linger: 500,000,000 yellow people, 500,000,000 brown people, 150,000,000 black people, and three-sealed colored races from Asia, Africa and America will attack the 550,000,000 whites, and with terrible results.
"Not only do the colored races of the world face two races two to one," says Dr. Stoddard, "but from statistics it is shown that it takes white people eighty years to increase one hundred per cent, white yellow and brown people in sixyears, and black people breed fastest of all, increasing one hundred per cent in forty years.
WEAK FROM WORLD WAR. If the white people had been thrown away millions of lives and millions of lives in the world war, Dr. Standard thinks they would be better able to successfully oppose the colored people in their next war. The struggle will begin with the American and Chinese working together and chaining Asia for the Assies. They will be joined by the brown people of India, who are being exploited by England, the million of African Americans have a grievance against the white people of Europe will join in on the side of Japan and China and the colored people of Mexico and South America will join in. The hostility in Mexico toward the United States and the much more rapid progress Mohammedism is making in Africa than is Christianity are cited by the author as showing the beginnings of the big conflict of the nations.

Conference, thus having the distinction of being the first full colored bishops in the denomination. Dr. Jones received 627 votes. As he was escorted to the platform, Bishop-elect Jones was greeted by a great demonstration, which continued for some minutes before order could be restored. Dr. Jones has been editor of the Southwestern Christian Advocate for the past sixteen years. Dr. was born in Greensbury, N.C. February 19, 1872, educated at Rennet College and Gammon Theological Seminary. He was one of the two colored members on the joint commission on instruction. He will have charge of several of the colored conferences in this country.
Bishop-elect Chair has been a prominent member of the Washington Conference since his graduation from Morgan College, Baltimore, about 30 years ago. For seventeen years he was pastor of Abury Church, Washington, and built its present home at 11th and K streets, that city. He has been superintendent of the Washington district for about two years. He will be sent, it is said, to Liberal Bishop Jones can hardly tell from a white man. There were but four speakers on the resolution, two white and two colored and two black. The most memorable CONTINED ON PAGE FOUR.

SHOULD SERVANTS ORGANIZE
Forty dollars a month for ®

and walters ts the new scale fixed
for domestic workers-in the Dis:
trict of Columbia. SU! there are
employers who. complain. about
the shortage of servants.
If some of the silly women whe
employ servants had” their own
household tasks to perform, they
would soon perceive that it takes
as much brains to cook a meal as
it does to run a telophone switch-
board or work in a shirt factory.
Still there 1s only one way to
prove this assertion and that {s
for the domestic workers to or-
ganize into unions for better pay
and shorter hours.
‘Why do longshoremen get
cighty conte an hour while
waiters get a dollar and a half i
day? Why do hod curriors get
sixty cents. an hour and cooks
forty dollars a month? Why do
factory girls curn forty-elght dol-

tion, Is.the answer. “Take the best
paid occupations in the United
states und you Iwill find organized
workers, In fuct it will appear
that the workers are not paid for

tusks, but for thelr ablity to form
themselves Into» strong organiza-
tions.
‘Thru organizations the servant
workers can raise themselves to a
place of dignity in. the field of
labor second to no other occups-
tion.
‘There was a time when the coal
miner and the railroad worker
were ut the bottom of tho list.
They were the lowest paid labor-
ers. Where are they now? At
the top. How did they get there?

‘TO BISHOP BROOKS
‘The elevation of Dr. W. Samp-
son Brooks to the African Method-

ing to the thousands of {riends he
has. made by his remarkable
record as pastor of Bethel: Church,
this. eily, and to his legion of
friends throughout the country
who know of his successful pastor-

successfully ax he has pastoyed in

CAN also hopes he. will administer
the far-off West Africa field,
where the Christian Church is
greatly in need of a man who can
bring big rosults. His new fteld
offers the largest possiblities.

The younger portion of society divided uncensured first Friday evening between Lyceum, where they held their usual nightly dance and St. Mary's Hall where the Player's Guild of St. Katerines entertained their friends and followed it up with a very enjoyable dance.
The frogs ran true to form.
The trofee of the Player's Guild was a delightful innovation in these days of proffessional affairs. The performance was excellent. It would probably be singled out by single honors person for special honors, however, one could hardly pass "Jimmy Williams," he sang, danced and covered himself with honors. Music for dancing was exceptionally good and it was with great rebuke that "Home sweet Home" was heard.
Children's parties seem to have the center of the stage these beauties in their young days. Vidya Sushi, who has always been a beile among the younger society signs, celebrated her 40th birthday assisted by host of her young friends, last Monday afternoon. She was held home of the young ages.

one of their young lives.

Here Next Week
Whitney and Tutt are expected to make their appearance in the Smarter Set in the musical comedy, Children of the Sun, at Albaugh's next week. It is the wit and humor of her role in the sit-down and the sufficiency of her part of the fun makers, it is said, that makes this show go big in every city in which it is played. The chorus of stunningly gowned brunee women makes an excellent background for the principals.

We only knew you were called away
And could not say good-bye

A small bottle of "Danderine" costs but a few cents at any drug store. "Danderine" is to the hair what fresh showers of rain and sunshine are to vegetation, making hair grease, strong hair, and hair brittle. It is to hair. "Danderine" stops hair furling out, all dandruff disappears and scalp never itches. Try "Danderine" and just see what long, soft, attractive hair you can have.
