DALLAS DISTRICT NOTES.
The Services.
Sunday was a sala day—a wonderful quarterly meeting. At 11 a.m. mornings, joined the church, one convert, a little Miss of tender years, S. Jackson preached, accompanied by the great congregation and members of New Hope Baptist Church, col-lege, and the great double header, at 7:45 Rev. R. S. Jenkins preached; five persons joined to converse—collection $100. And they attended of the collection in that the Presiding Elder, Ezekiel, made the men beat him, he is a "money getter," he is a "money getter," at 9:15 Wilson, Wilson, at the great Macedonia collection the St. James A. M. E. Temple with the helping hand of Christian women at the same time, Dr. Winston Macedonia up stairs, and Dr. Patterson of New York down stairs, and the vice is that one did not disturb the Macedonia up stairs and Macedonia collection was 9:00—thus they went over the top.
This was the Holiness's night. Well, Dr. Paige and the saints were. People started as early as 6 o'clock and went on until 8 o'clock. Long before 8 p.m., the church was so packed until the late comers could not set to any of the many books they read, they were forcibly reminded of these words: "Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord." Chronicle of the Church among all the people. The great leader, Rev. Paige, and his saints were a wonder to all, but when we were in the church, we be beside ourselves, it is to God or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. These glorious words were us. The collection was $165.00.
These opening services will continue for another week and greater numbers of visitors to the church going people of Dalian but this presiding elder burns for another chance in church building two times, the second two that he has learned from him as a master builder; it is that Presiding Elder Jenkins made it possible for the church to be he who had learned from him he who had the Young Street St. James erected after a stand still seven years. Dr. Laws laid the foundation years without another move; but when Dr. Jenkins came the building was complete; therefore, Jenkins' anxiety for this he declared unto Dr. Abington, the master builder, who can give any of a few lessons in church building.
Next Sunday we will be in Fort Worth, next Sunday, Wesley Chapel, North Fort Worth, W. H. Durand is our pastor.
A PIONEER CITIZEN PASSES.
Was Alive at One 'o'clock-Found Dead at Four. End of a Peaceful Career Closes Like a Manace.
M. Jerry Taylor, one of Dallas County's most and most highly revered men, died in his room at 1908 Allen St. Sunday afternoon about 4 'o'clock. Mr. Taylor arose Sunday morning in his room, and yard in his unnatural manner and in fair health apparently, nothing revealing in his facial expression until he was 10. He conversed freely with members of the household at intervals until he returned to his room.
At 4 o'clock the following afternoon, Frank Williams, one of the owners of a paraded dinner for the Taylor's, went to the room occupied by the Senior Taylor to notify him that dinner was set up. He made an alarm and Will Taylor, uttering a sound saw the lifeless form of the aged man face down on the desk. He made an alarm and room where the body was found cold in death. Just how long the body was kept in the home knew—although he been in feeble health for some time. Mr Taylor was Si years of age and an adult. He was active in business for many years, having been reasonably concerned with the Company. Up to a few years ago, Mr Taylor owned valuable property in Munger Place one of Dallas' most beautiful neighborhoods, and was forced to sell at a price that was agreeable. After disposing of the property for next sum he purchased.

Under the present system of operation the Texas Colored League is in position to give and receive the respect of organized has ball. The team of the Texas Colored League all gate receipts from each club owner the coming season is under advisement by President W. H. W. was referred to the views of President Wells recently by members of his organization, and he immediately got in touch with President W. W. of the Texas League, who has in hand a recent letter from the office of the president of the Texas Colored League that he found be below and the answer thereto. Mr. Dusk Roberts, January 15, 1921.
We are addressing you this letter, asking you to interest us in the League Parks and to proposition to use their parks while the respective Texas Clubs are abroad. The League Parks used the League Parks at Beaumont, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houlton, San Ananias, and Wichita Falls in arrangements at Dallas, Houston and Fort Worth have been entirely satisfactory but the percentage charged for the League Parks and Wichita Falls has been too high, and the result was that our clubs are not mentioned, and are barely able to begin given the assistance that various park owners are contemplating a "charge of 20 per cent gross and 20 per cent high, and if compiled to pay such price for the use of the parks, our district loses to their owners.
Last season we had six clubs and used League Parks about three out of six clubs. Clubs were abroad, but this season, if satisfactory arrangements for parks were made, eight clubs and to use at least four clubs every seven days when the League Parks were abroad.
We further submit that arrangements have been made at 2 or probable 3 hours, and that the prohibitive rate charged for others has held up the making of the contracts. We respectfully solicit your assistance in our behalf to the end that you secure a reasonable rental thereof, and we that you will, hence, vance for whatever consideration you may see fit to give us in the premises.
Respectfully submitted

Wood Preservatives
Wood preservatives are found by the United States forest products laboratory to be necessarily soluble enough in water to produce a tortile solution, though in some cases the solution is too thick. Sodium sulfide and zinc chloride are freely soluble, the creosotes as a whole only sparingly so. The nontalcite oils appear to act as creosotes and are therefore used to feed them cut slowly to the wood.

Sacred Mohammedan Rock.
A report on the Donee of the Rock of Jerusalem is shorty to be published in the New York Times, the Mohammedan world, it may not be generally known that this place is the third in sanctity of all the sanctuaries of Islam, and insofar for a short period of time the Kibla toward which all the Mosques prostrated themselves in prayer.
Among the more important religious associations of this rock we may mention the men were called to repentance, and on account of a vision David chose this site for his temple. From this same spot Mohammedan ascended to the Kibla, and from there he went from Mecca, and lastly it is to be the scene of the Great Judgment.
The historical associations are not less striking and such famous names as Moses, Moses the Great, and the man are all connected with the rock.

Leadership Everywhere Needed
Hampton Va. Jan. 20. They were much disbelieved by statements made by Mr. Trottier, interrupting the Conviction hearing, adopting the rule that witnesses should be adjourned to the court until their statements, Mr. Trottier's charges of Southern disinheritance and a court judgment abruptly ended the session. Joe Tocas of Laramie and Laramie of Gta, that he was acquitted of the charge for adjournment should be stricter. The correspondent of the Atlanta Court said members of congress have been assured privately by influential members of the party that effort must be reduced the south's jurisdiction to that section's alleged discrimination.
