A course of his address he warned the new students of the danger of taking too active a part in extracurricular activities, believing that a new student should "find himself" in regard to his school, and many of the old students were present and spoke very encouragingly to the newcomers. HAS FOUGHT TEN YEARS FOR FEDERAL ANTI- LYNCHING BILL. With the Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill before Congress, and public sentiment daily becoming more in force, the bill was approved by Congress, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the resume of its ten years of struggle for a federal law to end lynching. In its ten years of work, from 1911 to 1921 the National Association has raised and spent some of its money on the campaign. The introduction of anti-lynching bills in both houses of Congress, the direct results of the House Judiciary Committee in the 66th and 67th Congresses were the most important statistical evidence of lynching ever published in the United States. The most important statistical evidence of lynching ever published in the United States on lynching has not been sent to every important white and colored newspaper in the United States. THE DALLAS EXPRESS, DALLAS, TEXAS. SATURDAY. NOVEMBER 19, 1921 papers of influence as well. As part of the Association's anti-lynching fight, more than Four Million copies of the newspaper were distributed every state in the union and to every part of the world. Hundreds of press releases have been sent to newspapers and have been distributed to every state in the union and to protest at mob murder have been addressed to state governors, more than 2000 public meetings were held, and thousands of people have given the facts about lynching in the United States. Constant contract has maintained the Congress in Washington and Senators and Representatives have been furnished with facts and information to base their proposed legislation. Representatives of the Association have appeared at all the hearings in lynching and a brief was furnished members of Congress, setting forth the essential facts concerning lynching in the United States. Under the leadership of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1919, to which a call was issued by 120 leading citizens of the Congress, four ex-governors, members of the Congress, judges of the higher courts, members of the judiciary, prominent men and women. Following this meeting an "Address to the Nation" was issued by a federal law against lynching, the address being signed by the most those who had issued the call to the association. Meanwhile, public sentiment thoult the United States, by means of personal investigation into the Association's staff, through the press and public meetings, has been forced to deny anyone dare to openly defend lynching. Only recently, while women were denied the lynching spirit, and denunciations have come from the most powerful of Southern news The National Association's investigations of lynchings made on the spot denied no other agency in the United States has been able to investigate lynchings made on the spot for the Advancement of Colored People, whose representation in the frequent risk, in lives in order might be made known. After ten years an unremitting effort by the Advancement for Association for the Advancement of Colored People is confident that if public opinion is correct, the Dyer Bill, it can at last be enacted into law, thus crowning the long and various efforts made to obtain this bill. How can the answer be in the affirmative. How could such condition be best assured? Shall we allow present status of things remain as they are, or shall they remain as they are for that, that just belongs to us?
