The second topic was "Wired Race Institutions" and was answered by the second question, "How the questions raised What contributions they can make toward better race relations" and help better the present situation. The third question was, "What disadvantages have they faced?"
1. How can interracial work be carried on in southern colleges since an interracial work must be interracial?

AGAINST UNIFICATION
(A. N. P.)
NEWARK, N. J. 14, N.J. 18—The
DELEWARE CONFERENCE
Conference voted 35 against 62

of the North, North and South.
The keynote speaker was
against new De. Charles Alsted, Storm Blair, not father and older brother. The Conference, who strongly supported him, the precedent of mass church union as the only true rejection of all holy absolute faith, the rather precedential and sentimental archeology of the young pulpitheus, than an expedition of feasts, precluded, however, immediately moved for reconsideration of the vote, in spite of almost daily opposition and churching positively. We Negro ministers must suffer Christ in all our dealings if we are Christians. The South left the M. E. OLDER LOST CONFERENCE
DISCARDING OF STATE
SECRETARY
More than one, hundred teen aged boys not a few days ago met in Marshfield, MA, and of Fort Worth who is secretary in charge of the Negro school in a conference during which they had placed before them in a most beneficial place, will be their in time. Men of experience and vision told them in the future and the present that they should seek for greater service. It meant much in the lives of these boys, and badly needed by all boys of that age—the thing which, unfortunate enough, achieved for them as conditions now exist.
The conferences are but a few, years old. They were begun, as a part of the work undertaken soon after the end of World War II, by G. O. Secretary among Negroes, E. L. L. Gordon. Greater opportunity to support himself and family was served as officially in the same time up in the work in Texas. And since his leaving the office of State Secretary, work of this conference has been carried on by interested city security officials to HIX club in the various schools which were started by State Secretary Gordon and his wife.
There is no doubt that but there is crying need for the greater diversity of boys. If they are to be directed into lives of usefulness. If they are to be trained in the struggle, which have impaired the usefulness of men of other genera, themselves—they must have the sort of influence spread around the cide, manly and effectually, into their last lords and they must have place constantly before them, the men of greater usefulness, and their service to the world. It is a duty we have the men of greater usefulness, and their guarantee of future usefulness. And also the men of the Y. M. C. A. program, and the work that they have in their relation who war, it seems not unreasonable. In their con- dition, the punishment of another man to fill this place which for two years has been used to service to boys seems to the funes a challenge to Y leaders.
"The recent city campaign was one in which the workers worked with the abuse of extrinsic all of the brothers who usually stand on street corruc and talk about "what they want" and "how they stand" was noticeable. It is possible that they were polluters for some time.
One of the best ways to find the homes of good citizens is to look into the yards that one panics easily enticed. Both add much to the appearance of homes.
Those who prey for more before they have used all of what they have and are not good enough for the Master. To a great extent our race in the market is in which it lives is guilty of this.
RE-OPENING THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY CASE
Another attempt, based on a refusal to allow a Negro who was a Democrat to participate in an election in El Paso, will be made to break the "white primary" laws of Texas and (the whole South). It is to be bucked by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People which plans to make this the opening of a general attack on the disfranchisement of the Negro in the South. It will be broken in Texas to break this infamous law by which, in many cities and in the majority of states Negroes are effectively disfranchised. The first attempt led by citizens of Houston and argued by Lawyer R. D. Evans of Waco, resulted in a noose prosecual decision by the Supreme Court of the United States to whittle it was down. This new attempt should cause the immediate rallying of Negroes all over the state to the assistance of this organization which has so effectively fought other racial battles to the gats of success, and which, more than any other of its kind, has the reputation of never quitting. It is true that the state has taken advantage of. It is true that in our state, there has been a sad lack of interest in it for the past few years and an accompanying lack of financial support of it. Branches where in flourishing condition in many cities were allowed to die and now, in only two cities, Houston and El Paso, are still in the process of being established, these two cities have come the attempts to remove this decidedly unjust suffrage condition. There is no doubt but that this lack of support has come from the unfortunate conditions in the cities where these branches have been established and in many cases the disbanding of them has come only through the threats of physical violence to the citizens and members.
But in the re-opening of this case, there is an appeal that is more fundamental than any other in the knowledge of mankind; it has to do with self defense and with make-up. It is not only the future generations of those who are living today. It strikes at the very root of the infamous system of disfranchisement in the South where because the Negro is not only of future generations but of those who are living to the full. The appeal of this organization for funds is a challenge to the belief of all Texans - in their manifold ways - that they are innocent in their own welfare. There is an occasion to which they should rise to a man and indicate, not by much argument but by the contribution of their funds that they, as others, are unwilling to be longer denied the rights they are innocent in their own welfare. After all, is the main spring of all civil opportunities.
WE NEED MORE ACTION
Some hard,怕痛, Tommyson, wrote that "knowledge comes but wisdom linger." Some hint of a belief in the truth of that expression probably will come to the close objection. Tommyson, who is a professor of certain kinds of mass knowledge which, if had, would completely revolutionize the character of the accomplishment of the group. The Week-has just elicited. When compared with its observance in former years, this was the most successful of ever held even at that, it fell far, short of having reached its greatest efficiency because of the lack of interested organizations through which to promote it. And Tommyson, who is a professor of certain kinds of mass knowledge is sadly lacking. It organizes in some ways that are doubtless beneficial but it lacks organization
Why are there so few debating clubs, Y. M. C. A. organizations, forums business leagues and organizations like nature among our people in this section? There are never such clubs, and this knowledge is had in abundance but the wisdom to make use of this knowledge seems lacking. So far, it seems that we have been too content to "put our selves on the back" for the progress made thus far and to prove our status that are now within our grasp. And it is even true that in the organizations who do exist, there is little or no interact in the sort of things which would bring benefit to the masses. The many clubs of the city city on proof of enough benefit to the city are own city for instance. There are enough of them who realize that there is definite benefit in such bodies; this knowledge is had in abundance but the wisdom to make use of this knowledge seems lacking. So far, it seems that we have been too content to "put our selves on the back" for the progress made thus far and to prove our status that are now within our grasp. And it is even true that in the organizations who do exist, there is little or no interact in the sort of things which would bring benefit to the masses.
The many clubs of the average city are proof of the truth of this fact. Take our own city for instance. There are at least fifty clubs of various sorts here, mostly social. As far as the general public is concerned, they are the only clubs of the city that are institutions for which their members are taxed heavily, and stop there. And yet, there is no city in America in which there is greater need for the dissemination of the sort of knowledge that comes from interest in such a thing as health week. Of course, the clubs of the city are that successful. So far it has happened that every Easter egg hunt held for the Negro children of Dallas has been possible by members of the other race. With exception of a few women who every year have worked hard to create the proper amount of interest in the city, we have not succeeded by the contribution of outside agencies amenable artists who come to the city find small audience because there is not the interest in real art that there should be. But why on to go名 any more shortcomings? All of these artists are so good. We have that knowledge, and they so fall to inadequate thinking that causes the feeling that we, so far, are short on wisdom. And these expressions are not made an are those of the pessimist who feels that the whole world is going to the dog. They are also not made an are those of the man who START MOVING, FASTER IN THE DIRECTION OF MORE PROGRESS. Let us seek the wisdom that will cause us to make the proper use of the knowledge that is ours.
An opinion vendered last week by the Attorney General of Texas declared that mutufoes were not, lineal descent. His reference to children born out of woolock to Neosho was not clear. He felt a pity for man made laws which attempt to deny and nullify the large laws of Nature and of God. But our neighbors in the face of occasions like this, wonder why we question the laws of nature as taught by the religion which they profess to believe in.
It islamically Grand Lodge time again. What about the efforts of the Fraternal Lodge and its allied bodies to get better railroad accommodations?
PASSING FOR WHITE
Those members of our race who apologize for the injustices and limitations imposed upon us are a hindrance to our progress.
**agree" for human rights.** Therefore when a Negro so far forgets both his interests and his love of righteousness, as to be an apologist for wrong, he is more than a relegate.
"Passing for white" is a phrase usually applied to those of us whose blood complexion permits them to "cross over" and intermingle freely with whites. Since the whole human race is a mixture, even European nationalities having their brunette shade as a heritage from African ancestry, this is not a bad thing. But the freedom, is forgivable. But when Negroes, even some of pure blood, make a "fetish of white blood, ascribe to it infallibility, and then undertake to defend whatever it does, they are neither honest in their position, nor honorable in their intention. The color of color is not a Godgiven barrier as worshippers of the Nordic would have. It men used to be unknown by their location and citizenship, not by their race, Paul the apostle, though a Jew was a Roman citizen. Black men were also. It is only American prejudice that has made a god out of white, and race a thing to be worshipped. Self-conceive it to no worse than a human being, like a fake position, is self-abasement beyond understanding. Mental "passing for white" is not forgivable. It is founded upon false premises. It is illogical and unnecessary. The basic principle of Americanism, that a man shall receive what he deserves, is an absolute denial of any peculiar virtue in shade of complexion and
Self-respect requires that we do not yield to the rights that are ours because we are men. We can be robbed of them, but we cannot and must not give them away. If the whites in America are so deluded that they believe that the right of manhood reward, at least let us be sane and eling to the truth. Right is right even in the humbleest, and wrang is not less reprehensible because it is done by the powerful. Negro apologists for enervations upon our rights and oppose them a poor race, a poor race, a poor race, and are scorned by those who seek to flatter. There is not a public official who deserves a Negro defender when he mistreats us; there is not a public service which we should ever admit is not equally ours along with us. We should not be so blind to or sell merchandise which is not rightfully ours as well as any other man's Dark skin, krankly African countenance and physique, all that we are, as God made them, and the Negro who is ashamed of them, commits moral and
