Judge Pitcherino, Mr. Gentry, the white agent, and our own agent, O. W. Crouch, put in the program presented by the business men of Trojan, Bullard, and Tyler, showing behiong about better farming, not by the Negroes as well, in South Carolina. Too much - pristine cannot be made in the Channel of Tennessee and the Commisseries Court for the way they stood behind the Negroes to succeed of such a program. We wish it had been possible for them to have seen the nine prize Texas to have seen the nine prize
winners on the rostrum receiving amounts from $25.00 to $250 for best corn and cotton grown on fewer acres in Smith County. When we remember that all of this money came from good white people of that county, showing their genuine interest in our group, we are indeed grateful. We feel that if every county will get behind it has, it will not be long before Ne-Negro farmers as Smith County gross will be a valuable asset instead of a liquidity to the communities in which they may live. It has been said that "Like Begels like" This is true, as has been shown in Smith County. Whenever the white farmers set a high standard in intensive cultivation, the Negros soon follow in their fountains.

INTER-BACIAL SUNDAY
Interracial Sunday, instituted by The Elevated Council of Churches of Christ in Aterates has been little thought of in Dallas and in no way observed until last Sunday when one of the churches of the city staged a program which was a combination of a Lincoln's birthday celebration and an observance of Interracial Sunday. The meeting was highly interesting for the sincerity of the expressions as of the need of the creation of horror relations between the race in the South as well as for the frank statements of the need of improvement of the race in its manner of thinking of the problems which confront it and of its duty toward its future generations. But there were few persons present. Evidently, those who thought of it all, felt that there was little to be gained by a consideration of the topics offered for discussion there.
While there can be no创义
mation of any person for his idea
of what is best for him, there
is no room for any person for
the good of the employees of the
group, and the group will
generally for itself, look out, willing
ness to get together from time to
time in discussion of "partment
topies" which relate to the problem
that the group can't find
that the problem is just the

group as such has not yet come
into the full knowledge of the
value of concerted action which
comes only prior thought along a
certain line and agreement upon

Hops for the future, plans in

a day that should be gone for ever.
The time has come when the
problems of which are found
to be the general problem of
discussion, where there are members
of the race and the needed
things should be arranged upon, after
successful deliberation and worked
toward. Negro history should be
more widely known.
The problem of the group
should find a place in the forum
or in whatever gatherings are established
for the gain of this sort of information. The necessity
for engaging in the policies, not
as it is generally done by the group
for "loaves and fishes" but as it
is done by those who feel that as
parts of the circle units in which
their own government should be discussed. The means of increase in the population should be graft as such should be discussed in their gallibertine treaties. And finally, so much should come in for their own government as the other would, the latter would, those gifts should not be introduction. The question of things of this sort is being neglected as a matter of concern, and the means of proceed by the, rare the three seems to be being falling the need. But if the interest of the people above indicated is to be taken as an indulgence of the reaction of the government, there is every reason to feel that the failure of the government in the future of those who lead, to

of a little white age in which
a white man would shovel coal,

to do these things "like a

of the other states which have
been famous for the aristocratic

Just another proof of the truth of

What will white Atlanta do about this new ordinance? That too is problematic. What it does will defend largely upon the attitude to those white men who have been accustomed through a lifetime to the ministrations of abilital Negro barbers as well as to the more falmicided and some members of that commonwealth, and there are some of those in Georgia, who realize that in it efforts to make a complete experiment of the races there have been some rather comical things proposed and enacted into law. The Express feels that the ordinance will fall to pass as a did that of several years ago. Which would have forbidden the teaching-of-Nigeria children by white persons. But should this journal be in error and should the ordinance become a part of the law of that city, Atlanta and the state of Georgia as well will be sure to be for as great a bit of ridicule as can be imagined. The things is an evidence of prejudice in its most ridiculous and mirth-proeking aspect. And prejudice is always ridiculous.

The same trend in musical taste is being observed in the United States and Canada and is a surprising contradiction to forcests made by many experiential observers. The latest indications of this tendency towards classical music are the results of taste conducted by the General Electric Station, KOA, of Denver, Col. SOME QUEER NORTH
(By Daniel V. Chase)
In North Africa, which is most Moslems, there are many qualities and curious business, chief among which is the custom of dealing with female children.
There is much joy in the calm of the North of Africa. Moslems when a male child is born, and all come to congratulate him say, "God has increased the good." But if a girl be born, that is a different matter, the father himself crying. "A misfortune is born to me."
Notwithstanding all this, however, the birth of the girl is celebrated on the seventh day in the presence of the Gadi, the parents and their friends, and the baby is named Zohra, the flower; Readby, the happy; Zinn, the beautiful, or Alia, the beloved.
While she is yet young, the father gives practically no concern to the thought of his daughter, and she may indeed find herself certain if her mother spares even a thought to her. As she grows older, she is trained in one particular order of stihs to form student to practice discretion and co-security. The North Africaans are romantic lovers. Many herbs are sung to the women, and poetic phrases as to her beauty are applied.
The Koran, rewarded as almost sacred by these quaint folk, for Sila (fateoling, calling it "the devil" in writing), yet when this hild would be in her teens she is intood when she is old enough to be married (and that is while she is yet in her early stages of childhood), she is said to be ready for prison-quin American style indeed. The father thinks of one thing and that is the dot he will give when he marries his girl off. When
