PRESIDENT W. R. BANKS ACCEPTS THE PRINCIPALSHIP OF P. V.
President W. R. Banks, for the past eleven years head of Texas College at Tyler has definitely accepted the principalship of Prairie Institute, according to a statement instituted by him to The Express last week. He indicates that he will move to a new position on or by August 1st.
this field of work.
The election of President Tankas
dr. Irkka Datnaa described a "timely
place several weeks ahead of the
NEGRO education, setting forth something of its dis-
tainment, developmental and present
issues," he said. The liberal trend now evident in
Carolina, which has resulted in Re-
ligion, indicates that he has definitely
been a leader in the field of education
in facilities for Negro education in
that state. Six speakers made his
hit election, he has been booking
the trip to the school for that purpose,

The election of President Banks was the biggest several weeks ago when he was elected in 2001, a time it was in no doubt to whichever or not he would accept the post. He was given to the Express for publication indicates that he has definitely been a leader. During the time which, has elapsed since his election, he has been looking over the grounds, building a special meeting room, meeting the faculty and surveying the situation of President Banks to handle the task of assigning him to undrived in the light of the splendid handling of Texas College whose president he has been for the past eleven years. During that time the president had a physical equipment and reputation, having gone class as a college by the time he was elected.
Dr. Alkocis delivered a stimulating address on Negro education, setting forth something of a disastrous truth. He paid high tribute to the liberal trend now evident in North Carolina, which has been growing in recent years in a phenomenal increase in facilities for Negro education in the state. He also presented a program, which comprised some two hundred leaders in religious social services over the overgrown trip to the campus. Mrs. Halie Browne, Colored prison officer from Charlotte, N.C., was also on the program, speaking of the need for a program of greater success. Mrs. Maude Hooden, director of women's work of the Commissioner of the interracial movement and offered practical suggestions for making it effective in local communities.

New York, July 21—The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, 68th Avenue, has received a report from South Africa, published in the British in Journal of the Royal Society, that owing to the cataclypses in the way of natives died, a medica-tion was needed to doctors. The medical schools at Capetown and Johannesburg do not admit natives and no provision of South Africa for training natives. The party marks a painful showing without them and in time to come it more and more difficult to make it more and more difficult to "paper party." And whether it is the party or not, it will be found that Negroism with, with increasing free trade, was often by members of the race and those disgusted with the race and those disgusted with the race and Calvary counties. They are going to try to break the hold on the state and if it happens that they come into power, which they be or later will be, they will be given of the best that he and takes up a work when recent history does not so highly recommend it.
It appears to The Express that the difficulty with which the anti-Caribbean party necessary things as to election places, judges, other constituted some of the "same stuff" to which The Texas Republican Council treated the Negroes several years ago. "Chickens sometime come home to roost."
THE DALLAS EXPRESS, DALLAS, TEXAS, SATURDAY, JULY 81, 1920
Of course we have nothing to do with the election challenge of "Farmar Jim" to Dan Moody. But if we had made the proposition, our resignation would have been forthcoming on the morning that the complete returns were annotated, and the clean, clear plays the game win, lose, or draw. And there can be nothing but the utmost respect for one who "wins without boasting and loses without whining."
The Republicans may succeed in creating a second party, in the South by means of the exclusion of Negroes but their task will, at best, be a hard one. And whatever the outcome is, the Negro, in the last analysis must be considered. Let the Democratic forces be shattered, a thing which is not likely to happen soon, and a large number of them become G. O. F. followers who are the commander of the Democratic pro-terrorists. They "may be well consider the brother." They cannot escape him in the last analysis. And, "if eventually, why not now!"

All things considered, Texas has reason to feel that it has done the best for herself in the election of her officials. The general public will now see the fruits of its labor. And as far as the new governor is concerned, there is no better way to do this. The governor has asked the public to after the validation of those famous road bonds, to indicate his position on the improvement of the public school system of the state, the thing which is to be well in the front of the thinking of the general throughout the front of the thinking of the general throughout the

Music by the Popular K. of P. Band
I want to bring to your attention one very important factor in connection with this Batting Revue that should be of interest to all of our people.
This Revue is made possible through the efforts of a group of preteen merchants that army and police have into the Batting Fund—to be used in building more and better playgrounds for our children and grown-ups.
This is going to be the one big outstanding event of the summer season. Last year we turned away hundreds of people, this season we are holding two big parades. Don't forget the date and place—Hall Street Municipal Pool at 3:30 and 8:00 p. m., Saturday, JULY 31st.
Not one cent goes into the pockets of any one individual.
Get In The Movies!
I want to extend a phrenal invitation to wiggle his Revue d'allergy in the afternoon.
Motion pictures of the bathing beauties and the entire crowd will be taken in the afternoon and evening. Films will be shown in picture shows in Dallas and the surrounding cities. These pictures will also be taken to Washington, D. C., and shown at the big municipal playground convention.
