B. C. Creager, advocate of the instructed delegation for Herbert Hoover and Republican national committee from the state, and Congressman Harry Wurroach, only Republican congressman from Texas and one of the very few from the whole south. MEMBER NATIONAL NEURO PRESS ASSOCIATION. THE DALLAS EXPRESS PUBLISHING CO. (Noorgarstad) DALLAS, TEXAS Notice To The Public It is well worthy of note that Congressman Wurzbach has been opposed for rejection by the leader of the Republican forces of this state. It is also well worthy of note that Negro Republican voters have been read, out of the party by this same leader and his group of political henchmen. It will never be forgotten that just this week, when the group headed by Congressman Wurzbach was opening its campaign against the high-handed and killeristic methods of the group of the Republican revolutions repudiating those Republicans "who believe in political and social equality." The 200,000 Negro voters of Texas had prayed for harmoney in the Republican ranks by means of their resolution assessed in the recent meeting of the independent Voters of Texas and the Republican Voters. They had indicated that those Republican voters within the race were concerned with nothing more than the opportunity to participate in the affairs of the party of their choice. But those pleas fell on deaf ears. They were not the only group that race in the face with a cry of "social equality and political equality" when there can be no reason to question the intentions of a group of disfranchised Americans whose only hope is that by some means they will be allowed to exercise their right to vote. This is one of the great country and by those early founders of the party which has written so much of the glorious history of the country which we all love. It is shameful. It is criminal. It is an outrage to the sensibilities of the people of this country and to the hope for liberty and civil justice. It is a fair indication of the minds of those men who have abrogated to themselves the titles of lords of creation. They must be stopped. This is no time for honeyed words and high sounding phrases. The issue is now clear. The Republican Party IS NEEDED AND WE MUST HELP TO SUPPLY IT. Any erroneous reflection upon the character, standing or reposition of any person, form or composition of the DALLAS COLUMNS of THE DALLAS EXHIBITION will be greatly corrected by the attention of the publication. KING These leaders who would shut the door of opportunity in the faces of this and future generations of Nergess must be stopped if it lies within the power of the race to do it. Anything beats the pace at which we now are progressing. We must win back our political freedom. The forces that are opposed to Creager and Note have spoken in ways that cannot be misunderstood. THEY HAVE SAID THAT THEY HAVE NOT DECLARED THE AFRAIDS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. THEY HAVE NOT HIDDEN AND SAID IT. IT WAS DECLARED IN THE OPEN AND THE METHODS OF THOSE WHO OPPOSED THIS-PARTICIPATION WERE DECRIED. WINDOW WASHING AND There will be those within the race who will complain about this condition. They will design it. It is not risk. They will complain it will be trouble. They and all of us will complain it will be trouble. We have no original opportunity which was easier so many years ago, but the better or failing could the times in our thinking. It it was ever true that we were up with the job, and who we are employing jobs come to those who are resourceful enough to take them on and not yet. As America fills up and the struggle for existence grows more and more intense, Americans will move and more to the wall. They may work which will perceptibly change in the jobs for which so far long, they have considered, themselves fifteen years ago" is hot a single sign of more of such ventures to come. Professionals are forwarded. THE DALLAS EXPRESS, DALLAS, TEXAS, SATURDAY, APRIL 28, 1925 That may again be attempted, though it is the current hope of all of those who believe in a free and unrestrained ballot for the URZUZHAM SUPPORTING NOT IN SYMPATHY election. Negro Republican voters now have the assurance that those who do not count them in the ballot do not count such methods. They are inviting the participation of ALL Republican in the affairs of the party. Their efforts are being made. GO TO YOUR PRECINCION CONVENTION--TAKE SOME ONE ALONG WITH YOU. YOU'RE YOUR DUTY. YOU'RE IN THE CITY. The Express has contended all along that the first duty of Negro voters to themselves and to their posterity was the guaranteeing to them of the right to participate in the political affairs of the party of their choice. Who has time now to argue that Herbert Hoover is or is not the man for the presidency of this country? What does it matter to a group of people who, if things continue as they are, have now become a minority? What does it matter if he is successful through the efforts of leaders of the party who shut the door of political opportunity in the faces of a whole race? police for assaulting their nieces. Brown's wife did not take the wifesense and she could have used her. But the state cannot use a man's wife as a witness against him. The judge read the five year verdict, Brown's head dropped and tears came into his eyes. He stood up and looked at the woman who was sitting back in the courtroom with other spectators. Dr. R. T. Hamilton, well known for his advocacy of better health for the race and for his earnest efforts through a number of years to bring it about, has made a very interesting study of the vital statistics for the past year and has announced that for the first time in many years, probably for the first time in history of records for Negroes, the birth rate for the year is in excess of the death rate. Not only was that true but the death rates decreased and the birth rate increased. The decrease in death rate for the race for the year was 4.65 as compared with 1926. If you could have kept me out of this trouble. I know that I was the one to give up your way. Well I guess I have to do that. I come back I'll forgive you. If I don't, I'll see you in Haven. I know you are going to be, sorry. Goodbye. Goodbye. Then went to the. tell still mumbling about .his wife framing him and sending him to get him. out of the way. The Doctor naturally attributes this decrease to the various health agencies which are operating within the race and in the city generally. Say he "this improvement in the health of Negroes in Dallas is due in large measure to the splendid work of the city health department, The Dallas Public Schools, health columns conducted by the Negro press, National Negro Health Week, and the general improvement in the sanitary condition of Negro homes and Funeral Services For Mrs. Ewing Held From New Hope E. Jones, Dr. P. M. Sunday, H. Food Time was when Dr. Hamilton and those who worked with him found it hard to enlist the aid of city authorities in the improvement of the sanitary conditions among Negroes; and it is a matter of record that the work of these agencies which he mentions was formerly confined wholly to the white race. It was during the lack of such agencies that the Negro death rate seemed to climb rather than to decrease. Then it was that it was argued that the race was cursed with bodies susceptible to disease rather than that the living conditions of the majority of them made their sleeps unavailable. It is good to note that times have changed. It is even better to note that a number of the race takes the real facts into account. It is the real facts known. The findings should go a long way toward making possible more rigid observation of Negro health as well as more provision for its improvement. Certainly facts such as these provide civic benefits to a long way toward improving the general health; for it must be remembered that the Negro has decreased because that of the Negro has decreased.
