WILEY HOLDS SUMMER
SCHOOL FOR PASTORS
Marshall, Texas, June 26—Wiley welcomes the rural pastoral school to be held at this institution. Dean of the school of practical sciences in which President Dugan informed Rev. R. G. Morris, Dean of the school of practical sciences in the two Texas conferences of the cooperation that may be held at this institution. College administration in macking this summer school for pastors a success. Wiley is originally a college school with a school unit for apparently good reasons it was transferred to Austin, Wiley. It possessed its interests and purpose of the town and rural school has been fit to bring it back to Wiley, possibly because of the superior facilities it has made for the success, of such undertaking. Wiley is now in residence as never before. With its religious education department which makes its position to be of a trained social-religious worker, Wiley stands in a position to be of assistance to their community problems. The opportunity of the church to work with the life of the people has never been what it is today. Wiley welcomes the making of a careful study of some of the conditions, with view of helping to improve them. This should be utilized as fully as practicable in meeting the needs of the pastoral conference, he states, in one means by which the school into the community in an effective way. The result that all progressive schools should be utilized of his business should as rsl as possible take advantage of the opportunity to increase their deal successfully with the increasingly complex social and religious demands of the day as met in their relations.
The Church and its representation have been nourished with an emphasis on the need to are now feeding up to at the Church of God, the cultivated civilization. Wiley College welcomes its share in this challenge. We are further challenged to all wide awake, proactive-minded pastors to come and show a breakthrough.

The City Administration Decides Wisely
And in this same connection is that it does not refuse to come close to the city that Nearl labor is still to and plight have. The majority of those who are emplorers seem to have rendered themselves into factory district and industrial sections. It has been true treason. It is a duty which these emplorers, and prospective emplorers owe to their city as to their city owe to their present also to see to it that Nearl workers are more recently employed than those bought more than 8000 homes and are still contributing to the growth of the city by employing more than 8000 homes and are authentically unfair to think of them nearly skilled in the construction of the U.S. Uniform State Police 90-117. A large skilled Nearl laborer would benefit very much for Dallas.

A DASTARDLY LYNCHING has again smutted the name of Texas and brought Houston, sometimes referred to as "heavenly," into disguise. On the eve of the opening of the Democratic National Convention eight men dragged a wounder and dying Negro from a bed at the hospital and hanged him to a bridge scarcely on the edge of town. He was accused of being implicated in the fatal shooting of a policeman on the Sunday before. His guilt had not been proved. It had not even been ascertained that he was a member of the party in which the shooting occurred. He was found at home wounded and taken to the hospital charged with the murder. It is reported that he had not spoken since being taken from his home. The Governor of the state offered a reward for the lynching. Houston offered a reward and named in special investigation members Negro members. Rangers were brought to the city and the investigation began. On Friday it was reported that several men had been found who signed statements to the effect that they were members of the lynching party. Two others are yet to be found. But with the finding of the guilty one the question naturally arises, will Houston be convicted of flow through and actually punish these men for their death?
The gravity of lynching should be borne home to Texas by this event more than by any other. All are equally as serious. All are as menacing to the peace and ultimate prosperity of this country as this one. But is has never happened that any other one happened at just such a time. The fact that the arrest of these men is forementioned and of justice which are now being made in the investigation and the arrest of these men will not prove of not-real importance. Texas and Houston should follow through. No better occasion will ever be found for the teaching of a lesson and for the deterrence of mob violence.
BY ALL MEANS TRY THIS OUT ALSO
The attorneys who so successfully carried the Democratic Primary case to completion have announced that they will stage a contest to the newest method of disfranchise inaugurated by the leaders of The Democratic Party in this state. A Negro Democratic voter will go to the polls in regular form and undergo the refusal. Then court action will follow according to the statement of the attorneys, all of whom are located in El Paso.
There is every reason to hope that the intention of these attorneys will not be thwarted in any way and that they will be able to undertake this contest speedily. There is no reason to doubt that the plaintiff in behalf of unarmed suffrage rights for the race. Time now is when their rights must be guaranteed for all time to come. And the fact that the successful conclusion of such cases is naturally slow and expensive is just
another reason for speed in beginning the undertaking. In this case also, there is room for the hope that members of the organization will be interested its conduct than was the case with the other decision which so visually affected the welfare of the race and which has become of national importance on the determination of the suffrage rights of members of the race in other sections. They should prove their interest in their own welfare by the speedy contribution of substantial sums in their own funds. If the organization can be no doubt but that every step of our political progress now must be made at the expense of much money and much sacrifice. We alone are responsible for our success or failure. No other group in America can be looked to for the sort of interest which is necessary to guarantee the results which we desire. The fight for complete suffrage as a result of the organization's formation, will cause unhappiness to damn our very memory. We must leave no effort incomplete.
OUR IDLE MEN
DALLAS HAS RECENTLY grown a large crop of idle men. They seem to thrive and get fat, yet their means of support are any we might mean. They are to be found in large groups blocking traffic on the sidewalks in many of our best residential sections, and their conversation is by no means calculated to please the ears of respectable persons. Cursing, filthy expressions and stories of their latest escapades together with discourteous remarks to every passing female characterize their presence in every section. They are a menace to ordinary decency. They are also a menace to all such men and charged them with vagrancy. They either got jobs or stayed in seclusion until such time as working men were to be found on the streets. They then were careful about their language in public places. They exhibited moss respect for passing women folk. They were then by no means an objectionable as in men. They were also the rights of the race be protected and that police treatment be improved, is it not possible that we have drifted too far the other way and convinced the authorities that we do not object to laffers and idlers who shame us and insult our women? Will this condition not maintain until we ourselves come to the conclusion that we are not the ones who rights the streets on which they congregate? Doesclusion that laffers are a menace to good communities and a disgrace to the streets on which they congregate? Does not the continuation of this misbehavior and the continual presence of vile and abusive language challenge our own be

In the second, they were lined up for picking the winner and getting on the band wagon. It constituted only five per cent of the council of the coloured political leaders to secure the insertion of a plank in the Fourth and Fifth Annexed Measures. The coloured treasury was able to have more able to have these appendages bracketed with one another. They were able to have especially stressed as a party policy. But true to the verbal treatment, the coloured treasury must need to be made to the degree and the volume. Correct benefit. It serves to keep Kashraf was only a complimentary guess. It is not a complimentary guess that the Grand Old Party has not altogether forgotten the nature of the convention. It has high regard and esteem. The insertion will not be without indirect influence in the mind of the American people. The unarmy of the civil war that the Grand Old Party has not deceived is. It will certainly not be unrestrained. A coloured delegate was assigned to make one of the four or five ministers of administration of Secretary Hoover.

Rossenstall in his Epivexerate campaign, adopted the policy of allowing the House to state the states who could best command the attention, regardless of their population. We were mostly whites, who were mostly whites, who were local standing, courage and infinity. We would be the Negro leader to harden the Republican party, even ago. In politics as surely, it is a case of the survival of the tie.

The situation will be corroding, creating wealth as the white group, that baseless Negro group, that baseless black group, and share part of the load. I am writing this to encourage our community to stop the stone for us if we will trust God and prepare ourselves morally. One thing that I am asking the opposite, race, if they will serve, is to be particular in all of the ways that we will be satisfied that they mean suppression tree and firm ground. THE SPIRIT SURVIVES
Shortly after May 1, the National Association for Cultural Education announced that during the first four months of 1825 no landlord had occurred any where in the United States and that no person had been held for the entire 20 years during which stipitation had been kept from a landlord. For the entire 20 years during which stipitation had been kept from a landlord, a man reported that a man had walked into a jail and held them there from a Harry Wood hood in shooting but not being a white man in an argument with that man. That man then threw the man and that threw the man and prisoner had disappeared. A few days later the hanging of a Negro witness after a mob had then a Negro man had beached him on his neck. News came from Marshall. More that a high had taken a Negro man and beached him by hanging. Subsequent reports by Logan's honeymoon船wrecked Louisiana.
Dear Man:
I am a girl twenty-five (25) years old and have been gone for many years. I am tired of him, do not expect to marry him and want to marry him. I am on a boat and he will kill on me. I don't leg him come to see.
Please advise me what to do.

**Answer:** You're certainly an problem. I cannot imagine a man instilling on coming to see a picture he has been obligated to himself in some way. Either he is just unwilling to do that make long court-ordered cases as if he would have no intention of marrying each other. Why not have town for a place to live? Why not be going to be going to you are going he will surely find out. Perhaps with you away a white boy with a white cat. **Duluth, Woman**
**Dear Nan:**
I am a girl 19 years old, who has to have a job. I have many places. I often meet up with, by friends or a friend, many places. I must let them, have one because I do not like them, they are too hard to care for. Do, you think I will meet up with the one that I want to go with me. Do, you think I should be a friend of mine or a boy that wanted to go with me, I have no friends to go with him. Do you think that I should. Then, like that I want to go with him. Do you think I should go with him until I find the one that I will really want to go with him. **D. W.**

As we told to the lessons of the present quarter session, the roads they constructed to move their legions from one part of the empire to another. We were told for the part meant for the fascination of the sheer size of the empire, the innumerable favorites of the empire, the ten favorites of the empire were allowed to sell citizenship the last six months. But after the crucifixion followed in times and they were often purchased with large sums of three days by the resurrection, a new era dawned bringing Paul that he had obtained his citizenship at a great price. The Roman Government had made a great deal of having forty days Jesus appeared at different times to these faithful men and women and convinced them of His divinity and the Caissars, Alexander the Great, Mark Antony and Cleo-committed them to His program, this program possessed the two leading features which were to be the basis of all future efforts. 1. They were to carry in Jerusalem until the name was just mentioned shall be forgotten the name of Paul they should be endued with power from on high. 2. They were then to go and make disciples of all nations, beginning at Jerusalem: History shows that they entered their world's task with remarkable seal after the experience of Pentecost. Five thousand were converted in one day.

The background of this training is found in the fact that Dr. Dutrountry 6549. the feet of Gamaliel in Jerusalem, he was sent to that city to complete his education for a Jewish rabbi.
Saul Beasil of His Ancestors and Religious Training
It required a period of about fifteen years for one to be trained for a rabbi. These were years of much hard work and self demilal—but from the very beginning of his life he was a man of great importance to the tribe of Benjamin. He was the only one of the patriarchs who was born in the promise land. It was from his tribe the first king of Israel had been selected. He had been circumcised the eighth day—hence, not a prolysite, but a Hebrew of the Hebrews. As related to the religion of the Jews, he was the first to be survived by the life to the letter. But at the time he was speaking from the starryway, to the mob, he summed up all of the advantages of birth, education, anecythe, and even his Roman citizenship and counted all but as dross for Christ. The experience which had come to him on his way to Damascus had changed his whole outlook on life. That is just what he did.
Saul, A Roman Citizen
In the time of Christ and Paul, Rome ruled the whole of the civilized world, as men supposed, although they knew that Alexander the Great had fought with men farther east called Indians, and they heard that beyond that land there was a country where silk grew on leaves of trees. But it seems without question that Imperial Rome ruled over a large area, and that Alexander the Great never been under one government. These countries were connected with splendid roads over which their armies could be dispatched in short notice. The fact that Paul was a Roman citizen enabled him to get protection in almost any place where he might stop to preach the gospel, and the way he kept up his mission—the roads they constructed to move their legions from one part of the empire to another were used for the herds of the cross to preach Jesus. We are told that certain favorites of the emperor were allowed to sell citizenship, and the way they were allowed to sell citizenship why the Roman officer told Paul that he had obtained his citizenship at a great price. The Roman Governorate might well boast of having a citizen as great as Saul. Zonoplan with ten thousand men, the Caesars, Alexander the Great, Mark Antony and patra all held the same position, known to be blessed. Paul was born there. When all of these names just mentioned shall be forgotten the name of Paul will still live.
In the time of Christ and Paul, Rome ruled the whole of the civilized world, as men imposed, although they knew that Alexander the Great had fought with men farther east
