Little Rock, Ark.—J. H. Blunt of this city has been nominated by the colored republicans of the state for governor. The nomination came to him after the colored voters had bolted the "regular" convention where only white men were seated as delegates. Blunt declares he will make an active campaign and thus show to the country at large that the colored republicans are the only bona fide members of the organization in the state of Arkansas. He is the first colored man in the history of the state to run for governor. His chances for election are not flattering.
The Methodist churches are on a strike. Ministers all gone on a conference. Mrs. Matilda Motley was here Saturday. David Alexander died at Chapel Hill Friday and Sunday. The Harris shortened school night was defeated by rain: The county convention has come and gone. It has left sorrow that will take years to heal. J. T. Harris was instructed for delicate under the unit rule. C. Williamson, county jail, will be charged his possession and will for convenience purposes. Mr. Ed Henderson has returned from Houston. Mr. William Petford, county jail, will be charged his possession. E. Bess Moore, precinct chairman and Defender agent, says he must have The Informer. P. is said to have the jail. The Informer will contain county ticket in the field. The bees are humming, look out. The bees and larvae are growing and will be shorter. The jail will be at the national convention and nothing shorter. Mr. J. E. Shepard will open his branch in growing taller, its roots are going deeper, its branches are spreading wider. The jail will be testing under its shadow.—L. D. HARRIS, Reporter.

More than fifty thousand votes were cast in the county's precinct primary convention, on May 1, for four delegates at large to the republican state at a station according to the board, Chairman of the Green-Carthy campaign committee. "Regardless of what the personal choice or predictions of delegates to state or congressional convention may be, law will not permit, allow them to ignore the law that was expressed in the conventions May 1st, and cast their vote for men who are not before the people as delegates from the state," Mr. Beck said.
"The laws of the state require and permit all qualified electors to vote for four delegates and four alternate delegates from the state at large to the national republican convention. More than fifty thousand votes were cast in the precinct primary convention held May 1, in accordance with the law and in pursuance of a call issued by state republican committee and promulgated by Chairman Phil K. POLITICAL POTPOURRI
"All Coons Look Alike."
A friend of mine is responsible for a joke about one of the black "lily-white" henchmen at the eighth congressional convention held in the City Hall Saturday. This man, who always opposes everything that he does, was afraid to enter the council chamber, apparently, after the Waller, Fort Bend and Harris Counties delegates bolted at Nichols' arbitrary and unheard of ruling. A "lily-white," beholding the black "bull-sheev" justus, did not know that he was one of their henchmen and being so prejudiced and biased against colored republicans), said: "Nigger, why don't you go on with that gang of niggers from here!" The "lily-white" either combination is possible) turned purple in the face and begged his boss to please "don't run me away."
Bolted 8th Dist. Convention.
The newspaper report that Hon. Lucius Humphrey, recognized county chairman of Fort Bend County republican organization, remarked that "Ise to bot,叫 it," as on that occasion he fell from the lips of the blackest impas of the plutocratic regions. Mr. Humphrey is an intelligent and prosperous citizen in his community and conducted himself in a high-class manner and decent order, despite the fact that Roy B. Nichols, who claims that someone simply had "fixed up" white county chairman from Fort Bend County. Nichols, who was disqualified to preside even in the executive session of the congressional executive committee, as his county was in a contest, refused to leave the chair, but was not permit Humphrey to have a vote, claiming that the contest was a "failure" of Fort Bend County. He set up the same thing about Waller County and then said that no credentials had been sent in from Waller. When Prof. Davis arose and remarked that he was in Waller County and could testify that the credentials were sent, Nichols, the "grimliner" Roy" mystified" the case, but found some excuse to fail to permit Mr. R. S Jackson, Waller County chairman, to sit in executive session
The point was raised that as Harris County was in a contest and as Nichols was involved, he was disqualified. The office of the executive committee and judge act as chief witness, judge, juror and executioner in his own case, as he did in the county executive committee; but Roy refused to vacate the chair, and the county some supposed county chairmen from Fort Bend and Waller Counties and held his own executive committee, leaving the bona fide and regular members of the executive committee on the at this juncture, seeing that Nichols and his gang were bent on cheating and stealing and after having seen that justice was impossible with such a kaiser as Nichols in the case the bona fide from Waller County and Fort Bend Counties and the contesting delegations from Harris County, repaired to

one side of the council chamber and held the real convention for the eighth congressional district. It was not held in the corridors as published in a white daily paper. Shelton was elected temporary chairman; Prof. A. W. Jackson temporary secretary. A temporary roll of the delegates was made and then the temporary organization was made permanent. Prof. W. L. Davis of Harris County, was elected delegate for the eighth congressional district to the republican national convention, which meets in Chicago, June 8; Lucius Humphrey, Fort Bend County, was elected alternate; Judge J. Hannay, Wallee County, was elected as presidential elector of the eighth congressional district. The convention assembled denounced "lily-whiteism" and allisms that brought dissension in the republican ranks. Macedogor and Nichole, leader of the South Team, were condemned and the Green - McCarthy - McDonald-Grigsby program endorsed.
Where Is the Lock?
The "ily-whites" refused positively and emphatically to send even a colored alternate to the Chicago convention, and the team had advertised it that Ed H. Hall would be nominated by the Hon. Lock Momething. But from last reports this Lock had not unlocked and thus Brer Hall was left on outside looking in, Oh morn.
Sure. He Was Elected!
EXTRA! Ed H. Hall elected delegate—from preconvention form No. 13 to county convention, and from preconvention form Nichols compelling Bailey & Sparks, their heenchman and preconvention chairman, to change hour of convention on day of election, posting notices to the contrary.
Precinct 19 Procedure.
The individual who charges that the electing of a temporary set of officers in precinct No. 19 was a violation of the state law is either densely ignorant and a blatant-mouthed denier. There is a vast difference between the current election and a precinct convention.
In an election the election judges are appointed and empowered to officiate throughout that day's election, since it is not a delegated convention.
In a delegated convention (the congressional, state or national) when the chairman calls the convention to order, the future actions are determined by the voters or delegates present. It is then up to the people to say who shall preside, act as secretary, congressional-arms, or vice preses, etc. This has been the law both in the republican party since its birth and when such rights are abridged, the G. A. O.P. ceases to be a party of the T. R. PEOPLE and becomes at once a party of the state. This is done in republican precinct conventions, but even the democrats, who are
not given as much latitude and leeway under the Terrell election law as parties polling less than 100,000 and more than 10,000 votes, pursue such method, in the election of May 1, the democrats chose a chairman after the precinct chairman had called the convention to order in precinct No. 87.
No state law can be enacted that will take away from any delegated convention its so-called rights nor divest the deleterious of their constitutional rights.
If the law had been violated, it was the duty of some voter to appeal to the house after the chairman ruled that the manner of procedure was both legal, customary and republican. the chair had to such extent that he employed by Ed Williams in Precinct No. 14, then it would have been within the province of the voters to have done the next best thing.
Furthermore, what right did Roy Nichols, who was a voter in precinct No. 19, have come here and employed by H. H. and other foreigners and hold a rump convention in the streets?
If precinct No. 19 convention was illegal and irregular, why did Chairman W. C. Bosley remain with said convention, participate in its deliberation, bring in a minority report serving on the committee, come as a resolution to the county convention from said precinct on the roll of delegates elected in said convention, styled "irregular and illegal" by Nichols and his "yellow" bootleather? They may teach you how to go about it. It may be necessary for us to go to a racial Methodist Church in order to get our rights. We want our own bishops because we have a legitimate right to them." The steam roller and high-handed tactics employed by Roy B.
Nichols, the Harris County ‘“ly-whites” and their few black po-
“tical concubines in the various precinct conventions held Satur-|
“sday, May 1, and the county convention held Tuesday, May 4, have
acted as a boomerang upon the conniving and conspiring colored|
Teattle that affiliated themselves with these un-republican, un-
“American and un-Christian devotees and exponents of political
‘uutocracy, imperialism and elimination, better known as “Iily-
“whiteism.”
These black stool-pigeons and tools of the MaeGregor-Nichols-
‘Lee-Wharton “ly-white” combine in this county were all smiles
"Tuesday, when the genuine republicans, numbering over 250
(many of whom had already been seated in the “lily-white” coun-
fy convention) bolted at Nichols’ steam roller and autocratic
‘modus operandi and were ordered out of the Main Street Auditor-
Jum and driven off the premises by a small army of “peace of-|
+Ficers,” imported there for the specific purpose of intimidating,
browbeating and coercing the colored delegates present; especial
¥y hose who chested to and protested against the, Nichol
nickle) machine disregarding and over-riding the will of the|
‘majority of the republican electors as expressed in the election|
‘and selection of delegates in the precinct conventions, Saturday,
May 1, 1920.
‘These same ebony-hued and “yallow” henchmen and hangers.
‘on of the ‘lily-white” contingent. severely criticized, condemned
land lambasted those who dared to oppose “Mistah” Nichols’
“white man's party” policy and program.
"They remained (a handful of them) and when the motion was]
‘made to endorse and adopt the program, platform and policy of the|
Sniquitous and unholy “Republican Council,” @ species of “lily:
whiteism” and political elimination and extermination hatched
up by C. C. Littleton of Fort Worth, and endorsed, approved, ad-
‘voeated and dearly fondled and embraced by MacGregor, Nichols,
Lee, and others of that ilk—mark you—when this damnable, dia-|
olieal, dastardly and despicable document was voted on by the sup-
jposed republicans at the Harris County republican convention, all
the black jagkasses and pimps present voted, “Aye!” (Shades
‘of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and N. Wright Cuney!)
‘Now to show their inconsistency and the limit of their mental
reasoning power, both inductive and deductive, these black boot-
Tickers of the “lily-whites” professed to have the audacity to
‘believe that they would be able to get a 50-50 delegation of
white and black delegates from the eighth congressional district
‘to the Chicago national republican convention, and their chief|
-ean'thelp-but-be-black journalistic hetfchman and _ hireling|
brought in a minority report, , begging and crying for at
east one black man on the delegation. »
© Read what a white daily n en” the “lily-
whites” (as MacGregor once held the interest in said
‘hewspaper until the present owner attained his majority) said
about the “minority” report: “The minority report was over-|
‘whelmingly defeated and the majority report (sending an entire
ite delegation) was overwhelmingly, adopted.”
‘Now, didn’t these little Hamitic lackeys use poor judgment?]
‘They had sold themselves for a few silver dollars; they had voted|
to adopt a“lly-white” policy and program, and then after getting
all that was due them (It is commonly reported that a few of them
‘got $100 apiece and some of them got it in the neck, the “liy-
whites” claiming that they had no following) and voting to not
‘aspire for any office or honor within the Texas party, these black
politcal mollyeoddles, pussyfooters and traitors had the brazen
all and unmitigated ‘nerve to ask their bosses to “please let one
‘us go along to Chicago as your servant, at least.”
‘To which the “lily-white” bosses replied: “Don't you ‘niggers’
‘mow that this is a ‘white man’s country” We have already paid
you d——~ ‘niggers’—given you far more than you deserve. You
oted Tuesday to forego all ambitions and aspirations and to make
the party in Texas a ‘white man’s party” We gave & few of you|
‘recognition on our delegations to the congressional and state con-
‘Yentions and we permitted a few of you to sit in our conventions.
‘We don't intend to send any ‘niggers’ to the Chicago convention
and if you d—— fellows are not satisfied with what we have given
you, why d— it to h—, go on with the other d— ‘niggers
ed by Richardson and Davis. We intend to make and keep the
sepablican erty in Texas white mans part
‘say that the black bootlickers of the “Iily-whites” are a sick,
sorry and sad lot is expressing it pianissimo,
‘To say that they got more than they deserved is a truth that
4s self-evident and needs no elucidation upon here.
| To every action there is a reaction and in this instance it came
'quickly, but surely and there was much sorrow and gnashing of|
the teeth among the colored followers of the “lily-white” regime
‘The law of retribution is inexorable, inflexible, unbending, un-|
‘hanging, unyielding, unrelenting.
‘There is no time for us to stop and rejoice at the sudden and
‘supposedly unexpected downfall of these internal and infernal
spemies of our Face, flr play, republicanism, Americanism and
istianity;; political pimps, Praters and parrots who will com-
‘mit any overt or underhand act for a few silver dollars and for|
the pleasure of being: dubbed a “good nigger,” even if by so doing]
their. own family, race, party and country be reduced to chains}
and fetters. |
‘Let us not only take these poor, deluded and malicious black
devils to the Lord in prayer asking him to speedily, relieve the
ace of their presence; but where they are in business let us]}
Jithdraw our support from their enterprises and permit them tol
continue to get their cupport from their “lily-white” brothers||
{and bosses. ‘This message must be thundered from every pulpit]|
“and every secret order in town will do well to stress these facts|
Spon their members. Tet us teach our children to shun them as}.
Yhey would a dangerous and deadly’ reptile, ior they are worse]
‘than the most poisonous snake. .
‘They are now putting up all kinds of excuses, but the time bas)
‘arrived for patience to cease to be a virtue with us, when mem
ders of our own race will seek to keep us in chains and shackles]
‘And raake us subservient—slaves and serir—to thove who are only
Geslrous of using us to further thelr own personal ends*to the
‘Face's detriment and disadvantage. :
