BUILD YOUR PORT WITH YOUR VOTE!
Colored Voters Should Support Port Bond Issue
The Informer favored and labored for that measure, and like-witness supports the proposed $4,000,000 hand issue to be submitted Saturday, December 30, 1922.
This paper does no reasonable nor tender ground for opposing a legislative step and forward movement and thus urges the policemen to support the proposition with their votes on election day.
Whether we can or can not vote for city officials on that day, let us not fail to register our say on the other issues.
Vote AGAINST the two proposed charter amendments to increase ranks of city commissioners and controller and vote FOR the $4,000,000 port hand issue.
Vote on these three propositions if you are not interested in the others.
But by all means, VOTE! VOTE!! VOTE!!!
Election day is Saturday, December 30, 1922.
VOL. IV.
Lewis of dramatic art will have the pleasure of witnessing a Biblical comedy, entitled "When Jesus Was Born," in Clark Street, Fifth Word, Friday night, December 22. The symphony of the play has in clever motion and each one is full of thrill, which pictures the beautiful life of a new-born Savior. The artistic contours and mood to the nature of the play and the characters have put and whole life into the drawn a mute animation is 15 cents, and you can't afford to miss a beautiful Xmas constata at that price.
It is my always wish that my many patients will have a joyful and endurable Christmas and that happiness and prosperity will be yours in unbound measure during the next year.

Houston Hi To Play Willis Hi Here Dec. 30th
An interesting football game will be played December 30 (Saturday) between the Wilkins High School and the Northwestern High School at the West End Park at 2 p.m. This is probably the last game of the season for our boys who have been victorious in all former encounters thus far. The Wilms team is to send the team to be full of "pupils," interesting and entertaining throughout.
This being about the close of the holiday season, we expect Houston "fans" to run true to form in being out against the "pupils," not only by their presence, but to make the financial and worth while that all assumed obligations for such a game may be amply added: Admission: Adults, 5c; children, 3c. Colored Insurance Company Settles Newbern Fire Losses
(By the Associated Negro Press.)
Durham, N. C.-The Bankers' Fire Insurance decisively last week. It was the two million dollars that gave this strong Negro company its chance to into the business limelight of this section of the 48 hours after the big conflagration the re-银行ers' was on the scene and adjusting the arrangements for immediate settlement of a record business achievement and has made a position throughout the state of North Carolina.
Durham, N. C.—The Bankers' Fire Insurance Company scored decisively last week. It was the two million dollar Newbern fire that gave this strong Negro company its chance to jump overnight into the business lightline of this section of the country. Less than 48 hours after the big conflagration the representatives of the Bankers' was on the scene and adjusting the claims and making arrangements for immediate settlement of losses. This was a record business achievement and has made a profound impression throughout the state of North Carolina.
One of the interesting features of the situation is the fact that the prompt action of the Negro company caused a hardship to other companies in the payment of big claims due to fire. The Negro company had on the general business world of the dilemma in which these others found themselves that they called upon the Bankers to call a temporary halt in its speed payment campaign as so long as the company could not afford a chance to catch up with them.
The request was complied with but not until the Negro company had paid out something more than $20,000 in claims. The company also complied with the complaint to cause other insurance companies embarrass, but for the simple reason that a large number of colored people were big losers in the fire which covered坊 blockades and damaged homes and needed immediate help.
This humane attitude of the Bankers' Fire Insurance Company has done much to improve the position of the colored business men. Aside from the payment of big claims due to fire, the bank had on the general business world of this state, it does the greater thing of increasing the respect which the colored folks themselves had held toward a business giant. A big business gain in the sum of the total gain for the race.
The combined capital and surplus of the Bankers' company is $275,000. Last month the concern was that the bank could not cope with it first standing among the fire insurance companies doing business in North Carolina. W. G. Perrison is the manager and W. G. Wismes is the executive organization is the result of a recent merger with the Great Southern Bank.

EXCELLENT INVESTMENT
That the National Building and Loan Association is no fly-by-night proposition, but on the other hand is a business concern we brought for business concern. We brought for business concern last Saturday, when we scribe and occasion to visit the office of Mr. J. Hardway, 400% Milam Street, who is the president and promoter of this office. We scribe with his own eyes a copy of the charged file with the secretary of state at Austin and also read the permit from the department of banking and insurance of Texas. We scribe with the association to do business in the state for 50 years. All the plan, benefits and advantages of the association are communicated in these documents and for a paying investment it offers our partners to earn dividends on their money. On savings the will application will pay per cent or 2½ times more than the plan. We are an ideal institution for those who would save on a systematic and profitable Shares are now being sold to people both in and out of Texas, and a close business relationship will convince the most that he is an盈利 prophet. We scribe that he forget his poverty and purchased a few shares. Investigate, an angrievable then invest, in an angrievable then invest.

This humane attitude of the Banker Fire Insurance Company has done more to represent the positive foliage this form of business men here. Aide from the effect the company's action has had on the general business world of this state, it does the greater thing of to represent the positive foliage which the colored form themselves had held in their own business enterprises. "GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY."
"GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY."
It is an old, old story, but it grows sweeter and more sublime with the succeeding ages. Years have failed to dim its lustre, neither has time effaced its holy glory and transcendent grand-earth. pests have sung of it in notes of sweet acclaim, while prophets, priests and kings have proclaimed it far and wide. Mothers have recited it around the family hearth, while children listened with abated breath.
For nearly 2000 years Christendom has been thrilled and its constituents rendered happy and jubilant at the annual celebration of His natal day, which means so much to civilization and the human family.
It was first proclaimed to the shepherds during the nocturnal celebration, watched their flocks on the quint and historic hills of Judea; as the stars their vigils kept and while sleep held dominion over the land.
In the stillness and tranquility of that memorable night, when all nature was hushed in silence and as the heavens were delaring the glory of God and the firmaments were showing forth His handwork, an angelic voice broke the "good tidings of great joy" to those custodians of the sheep, in a voice clear, distinct and unmistakable.
As this heavenly ambassade gave out the glid tidings, heaven's angelic choir broke forth in one of the sweetest, most harmonious and sonorous antiphonal anthems ever heard by mortal ears, saying, "Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward me."
Finally music since the dawn of creation precluded a greater measure to mankind; nor has any been written or sung since this great gift, forming the main motif and chief theme.
"Peace on earth!" Could better words be uttered now, as the world stands on the brink of an abyss and endless strife? As men with carnal欲望 seek to overthrow justice and reason and institute a reign of terror and destruction? As women with an ancient belief this old world would be, if this phrase were put into practical, everyday application! With "good will toward men" as our actuating spirit and with the principles of the lowly Nazarete as our guide, class and race prejudice and antipathy would flee in their wake as mist before the morning's sun, as the fiery steeds of Phaethon step majestically and proudly from their oriental stable to their occidental abode, dispense their wisdom and wisdom to the world. It is very meet that annually reminding is reminded of this holy and epocal occasion; when the spirit of good will and distribution of gifts constitute our chief program.
The birth of the Prince of Peace was the beginning of a new period in the history of man. Before His birth selfishness reigned supreme and the Mosaic retaliatory ordinance prompted men in their dealings one with the other. The doctrine of love, selflessness and forgiveness, of devotion and consecration rather than ceremony and ostentatious modes of worship; He both preached and taught the doctrine of the fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man.
He was the founder and most pronounced advocate of democracy and established the first as only religious creed that embraces the whole human family. He gave to the world Christianity, an inclusive rather than an exclusive religion.
The real Christmas spirit is to help those in need. Our giving should not be done on a reciprocal basis: giving those who are able to return in kind. As Christ was a gift to the sick—as He did to the poor and the needy—he deserved the dearest treasure and greatest joy when it is divested of the spirit of making others happy through kindly deeds and priceless tokens of goodwill and cheer.
The Informer wishes its many readers and advertisers a Merry Christmas and of us shape our lives now and more after the principles the Christmas Child came to establish.
