Chicago—Prof. William G. Pearson of Durham, North Carolina, has donated $25,000 to Kittrell College, an institution of the A. M. E. Church in North Carolina. The money will be used for the creation of a science hall. Sends Letter of Congratulation to Crispus Attacks Press Association. (Preston News Service). Washington, D. C. - Letter of commendation from President Coolidge was among communications of congratulation read at the celebration of the Crispus Attacks Press Association on Friday night incident to the recent purchase of a new headquarters at 1652 Thirteenth street, which was extended by the Press association, which represented colored publications throughout the city, move into the new headquarters. Special to The Informer: Washington, July 6 - Seven states have passed new laws for the suppression of lynching during the last ten years, according to a report prepared by Professor Stone M. W of Workstown, North Carolina. The race relations of Churches to be published shortly. Two other states - Oklahoma and North Carolina - have strengthened their laws against the "great American crime." In all there are now many states that have special lynching laws. Bills for the suppression of lynching have been introduced into practice in many states passing new anti-lynching laws are Northern or Western. They are Pennsylvania. Two of them - Kentucky and West Virginia - may be closed in lynching and anti-lynching laws are Alabama, Indiana, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. All of the persons lynched were Negroes. The offenses charged were: Murder; 4, rape; 2, attacking woman; 1, attacking child. 2.
