The conductor of this department, the secretary of the Houston Colored Convention Club would like to hear from those in the city who plan to move to the National Negro League, which meets in Tulsa, Oklahoma City. We are of the opinion that at least three or four cars should represent the overland trip to this gathering, men and women of the race, whose president is Dr. Robert Russell Musselman and women of the Tuskegee, Ala.

N.A.A.C.P ADOPTS RESOLUTIONS AT DENVER SESSION
Special to The Informer:
Denver, Colorado—The N. A. A. C. P.
has made public the resolutions adopted
at the sixteenth annual conference
held here last month.
The resolutions in part are as follows:
Alma of the Association.
We have before us today five major aims: 1. The complete abolition of lynching and mob law; 2. Political education; 3. Better education; 4. The absolute ending of segregation of all south African areas. Let no one think that lynching is stopped in America as long as one is denied and even burned by mob. There is no political salvation for the black body and body and the republican party or by any other party. A free, intellectual and place of no honor, or salary is worth its loss. We again hands off fellowship and syriot to all the working people of the country with them as equals and as fellows, striving through organization to make modern industry demand monopoly and private wealth in credit and capital and to make social welfare and to make widespread effort to deny us high school training and to keep our young out of college and professional education. We believe in humanity; we believe in the social and civic values of all African people and in the every effort to separate, segregate and publicly humiliate human beings.
We are fighting residential segregation in the United States. We are attacking disfranchisement in the South by bringing the white-primary vote to the ballot.
The Bullard Slander.
Resolved, That we note with disgust and disgust the attempt of the militant group to banish, and the United States Army to defame and discredit the men of the Ninety-Second Division (Colored) of the Army in France. A cloud of witnesses has arisen to overwhelm with denials this assistant of brave men and faithful men, and to add to a retaliation so complete and signal. But we feel impelled to record the actions of the Bulldar's action as a hostile gesture, most improper in any army officer, from the element in the South that has been the most dwellling, and as a gossip, wanton insult to ten per cent of the people that whose wages and whose servile he is.
Haiti.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, as an organization, respectfully reminds the president of the United States and its accession, and sovereign政权 of Haiti it is still occupied, in defiance of international law, and sovereign law to represent that all of the purposes alleged as excuses for this illegal occupation have been achieved. The United States the constitution of Haiti has been destroyed and a new one substantiated. The constitution sought advantages denied under the old constitution has made its desired purpose in the subjugated states can sugar corporations are now proselytically installed the time has come for us to ful fill our belated obligations to this opus. The American Army as an American troops base withdrawn from Haiti at once and the country is still survive.
Bledsoe Directs Forces Here In Annual Session
Texas Fraternal Organization Holds History-Making Meeting Here This Week—Grand Master's Annual Message Says U. B. F. B. Lead in Per Capita Wealth—Celebrated in Galveston Thursday—Ft. Worth Singers Starred—Halverton Welcomes Body—Net Assets of Order $376, 347.78.
For the first time in the last two decades Houston is entertaining the grand lodge of the United Brothers of Friendship and Sisters of the Mysterious Ten, a fraternal beneficiary organization of which W. F. Bledsoe of Marshall, is both the national and state grand master. It has been many, many years since this order met in grand session in Houston, despite the fact that this order, the first of the race in Texas to acquire a home office building, has holdings in this city in excess of $300,000, to say nothing of first mortgage loans on Houston homes, churches and school. Delegates are here from all sections of the Lone Star commonwealth to attend this the 39th annual session of the grand lodge and third annual session of the grand temple as such. The grand temple in the Texas jurisdiction was organized in Marshall July 1922. Mrs. J. D. McClelland of Palestine, grand princess, is ably conducting the sessions of the sisters.
Welcomes and Responses
The travel of authority was presented to Grand Master Hirschbein and Richardson, who spoke briefly on the functions of the executive officer and Coloridge-Taylor Choral Club. The musical numbers on the opening program were of an unusually higher quality than the Choral Club, of which Mr. R. O. Schoen is pianist-director, having charm of a club new honors and literally sang their way into the hearts of its auditors, eliciting comment of the most acclaimed musicians, coaches, delegates, visitors and native residents who hear this group sing
Down to Business.
The first business session of the grand body was held at Antioch Hall, where the usual procedure incident to getting the grand lodge and grand temple unruled two credential committees, readiness of the grand master's proclamation, and the officers were submitted. The first number on this program was the annual address of Grand Master who had his annual message in print, form for the first time in recent years. In the course of his address he

Had Enough of Those
The landlord had at last agreed to repair several of the rooms. "What would you do?" she asked; "quired; "something with large figures"; "moderately not," answered the tenant. "They would be a constant reminder of the rest I have to pay."
That Was That

Three hundred and sixty-three thousand new cases of venereal diseases were reported in the United States in the year ending June 2012. To many folks this may seem to be a trifling announcement of no more importance than a statement that 363,500 persons had caught cold; but to one who knows the history of venereal diseases, the long time and money, of an economic burden to workers and the nation, of the suffering of innocent women and children—all of which have been the accompaniments of syphilis and gonorrhea from time immemorial, and which in the present day can be escaped only by the application of the knowledge of the cause, prevention and cure of venereal diseases.
Although the absolute knowledge of syphilis as a distinct disease dates back to only Tick IV when the salaries of Columbus and the disease were paid, it is now that the VIII of France and Ferdinand of Spain spread the disease through Italy—there is evidence tending to show that syphilis has existed ever since cities were first built and peopled. In the poems and writings of the ancients, mention is made of communicating a loathsome disease by kissing, as well as by other relations between sexes. Emperor Heo-Ang-Ti, who ruled China more than 4,500 years ago, caused the medical knowledge of that day to be collected into a single work, and in that it could be found a description of gonorrhea as well as of a disease similar to syphilis.
Down through the ages venereal diseases have come. They have been nursed by immorality, by ignorance, and by a false idea that they were punishment visits upon minors—an idea that ignored the fact of innocent incest and the fact that it was a crime. They have been their full courses,死身 death, insanity, loathsome scars, painnacked wives, stillborn children, and undismless and suffering in their wake. Then, as now, venereal diseases took their toll from all classes of people. Rich and poor, ider and worker, moral and immoral, who all became exposed were infected. But there is one difference. in ages past there was no public clinic. In modern science, however, has evolved a method of cure. Though it is not always possible to undo all the harm which has been done. today an infection can be prevented by the use of a clan or in an official public clinic may prevent the worst consequences of venereal diseases.
It is said that in Russia today there are communities in which 90 per cent of the people are infected with venereal disease. From Canada comes a number of cases, and this last fiscal year an increase of 24,328 cases of venereal disease over the last three years; and these are said to be only a fraction of the actual existing cases. Many of the people who had this last fiscal year an increase of 24,328 cases of venereal disease over the last three years; and these are said to be only a fraction of the actual existing cases rather than to spreading infection. As late as the year 1873 there were 10,000 cases of venereal disease in the government and its board of health accounted for this situation in these words: "Syphilis may be considered as the most important cause of de

MILLION DOLLARS WILL BE BET IN NEW ORLEANS ON WILLS AS HE FACES JACK DEMPSEY
It is estimated that when Harry Wills finally meets Jack Dempsey a million dollars will be bet in Wills here in New Orleans, where Wills is the favorite. Arrangements are already underway for a special train to go to Wills was born in Greta, really a suburb of this place, though strictly speaking it is not in Orleans but in Jefferson parish. One of the passengers on the special train to the fight will be the aged mother of Harry, if she can be prevailed upon to go. She is now living in New Orleans and says she is confident her son can whip anybody who climbs into the ring with her boy. Jack Dempsey is not intended to fight Wills. The action of the New York state boxing commission in deciding that Dempsey must face the New Orleans boy, appears to have met with the hearty approval of the white people here, all of whom are strong on Wills. These, with practically all of the colored sports, see in Dempsey's desire to postpone the fight until September a year off, that the boxing champion might make a lot of cash that he can in the meantime and predict at the last moment he will announce that he has retired from the ring.

George Jones, one of the best known characters around town, in recalling some tales of Wills, told of the trip he made with Harry to Havana, when Jack Johnson fought and lost the title to Jess Willard. George illustrates how keen Wills' observation was 'way back there. He says he had he put his money up on Johnson, and he said he had not put it on the fight and that the day before the fight Harry announced that he was not going to bet on Johnson. When asked why, Wills said: "There is something queer about this thing, for there is no doubt but what Jack is the better man, but I have been noticing how he is eating. Why, Jack's eating all kinds of heavy food, plenty of biscuits, a plate full of chicken at a meal and everything else, and he is not going to put up a fight that means he does not intend to put up a hard fight and I am not going to put my money up on him." My dear Mr. Holley:
Regret to you for the 4th night in an arena on the Tuza program of the National Negro Business League, and discussing "Negro Business in Houston." I will attend while I had planned to attend the August session of the body, the thought had never occurred to me that I would attend.
However, as I never try to shirk or dodge responsibilities, I do not see myself as a student on this program, and therefore give my consent to your placing my name of the program to discuss a topic. Hoping that the Tulsa meeting will be an opealal one, I am. You真的很 true. HIGHCHARD,

YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULT TOP-10-IRLATION According to James.
The book of James was written to encourage those who were passing through sora trials and persecutions. The pre-eminent alm was to show these humble beings the way to salvation times. James recognized the difficulties of Christian living resulting from the persecution of the sora and knew also the added difficulties of pride, jealousy and cowardly compromises which might spring up within them, and with the realities which inhere in the religion of Jesus Christ.
*Resolving the Engrafted Word* (VII).
1. What is the Engraved Word? "Engragged" means implanted. In verse 10, the Word is beaten by the Word. The figure is that of a planting of the seeds of truth. The Christian doctrine as conceived by the Holy Spirit result in regeneration. The divine method of regeneration is made living and active by the Holy Spirit.
2. How the Word is Received (v. 19)
(1) "Be swirled to heat." This means to be ready and eager to use every opportunity to get acquainted with God's Word. Obedience to this injunction will make one diligent in the reading of the Word of God in church services where the Word of God is being taught. From what follows we infer that this refers to religious controversies. It means that in the places of worship or in the church, we must give respect and thoughtful attention to what our Christian brethren are taught.
(2) "Slow to wrath." Heated discussions develop in our conferences, even when we gather to converse. Sometimes one may even fancy that anger is justifiable. In much cases we should remember the injunction, be
3. The Reason for Receiving the Word (v. 25:21) Christ must not worketh not the righteousness of God." Angry debate among Christians never helped to make known God's righteousness. He was the victim of his depravity. Therefore its expression can only have a blighting effect upon the speaker in its reception upon him. In Coming Into Self-Knowledge (v. 25:22) Receiving the engrafted Word through awfulness to hear, and obeying its bake precepts will result in the death of the self which brings true blessings. By "doers of the Word," is meant those who make obedience their habitual actions. The truths of God's word will permeate their very life and be expressed in their speech. Those who hear and do not obey are self-deceived. Those who go through the form of religion without coming under the guidance of God will gaze into the mirror beholding the natural face, and then go away and return. III. Pure Reason (v. 25:27).
This means that those who have become doers of the Word will in their manifest the following traits:
1. Bridling the Tongue (v. 20).
This means that they will speak with the tongue and but one tongue. The ears are expand, but the tongue is wished to be retracted. The condition reveals the condition of the physical system, so the use of the tongue restricts the ability to sympathize With and Help Sympathize With and Help (v. 27).
The knowledge that are the symbols of helplessness and need. Those who have true plerty will visit such people and keep them Unfettered From the World (v. 27).
Keeping Himself Unfettered From the World (v. 27).
The true life will separate himself from the world.

When we have given up an inimediate pleasure for character's sake, we make a sacrifice. When we sacrifice, Jesus was impressed with how much a man had gained—harrison

Deadly Bowie Knife
The bowie knife is named for Col James Bowie, who introduced it in the 1920s. It was named after Bowie had occasion to sight with a broken knife and found it effective that he equipped his men with long, sharp knives. The knife, ever sharp, on one edge only. Since knives quite similar in design were in use in Mexico it is probable that the bowie knife was invented.
Reason Not Enough
Strangely enough, it not in our reason that moral life has its being. It is not that moral life would be the most wretched of men. There is not a virtue, a virtue that is moral, but has most of its rooms hidden far away from that which can be under the cover.
