WHITE RAPIST ATTACKED RACE GIRL
HOME EDITION
By C. F. RICHARDSON.
"JIM" EWING ON THE JOB.
HURBAH FOR HOUSTON
With 7 physicians, 3 dentists and 2 pharmacists in attendance at the reopening of the Houston Association in Chicago, Houston led all Texas cities with representatives, and the association produced professional gathering, Houston contributed 12 or 43 per cent.
This is a most wonderful showing and all the men and women realize that such contact and broadening experience is necessary if they are to efficiently serve the community they would attend this association, but a new day has dawned upon them, and, not being satisfied with small things, they have practiced and women have decided that they shall avail themselves of various opportunities for better service to suffering humanity; they should be here.
We wish to communicate and conratuate these physician, surgeons, dentists and pharmacists with their determination to hold high the banner of "Heavenly Houston," by both attending the annual meeting and dental work in some of the leading hospitals and dental centers of America. Texas now to entertain the Lone Star State Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Association in Houston. Hurry for Houston!
THANKS, SISTER HAYNES!

Chicago, Ill. — The thirtieth an Medical Association closed here scientific discussion, clinics and hundreds of physicians and surgeons. The convention brought to the visiting professional men and in the most prominent men and two social circles of the race. Its spirit did not open until Monday more time visitors were pouring into country and at the opening day taxed to their capacity, the over homes.
The pharmacists also had their group meeting and there the men were introduced to the buying and selling of drugs and discussed the laws governing the sale of narcotics.
What was discussed in the sessions was carried out in the clinic. Surgical clinics were held at the Provident hospital at Thirty-sixth and Pearlboro at which more than twenty operations were performed, including several of the major operations and throat clinics were held at the Wendell Phillips high school, as well as the medical school. In the dental clinics the most modern methods of treating various oral diseases were practiced, including surgery and the technique of dentistry. The work done in the dental clinic, according to those attending, covered the history of dentistry and was recorded in the history of the association. Another outstanding feature of the exhibition hall was the scientific exhibit of Dr. Julian E. Lewis, Chicago.
The Social Events.
Vieing with the scientific session, the general sessions of the clinics were the many social events of the clinic, including meetings with receptacles by individuals, round out the program of the convention, between and after the sessions, even until the closing evening when the Eighth Illinois Regiment armory,

no charge had been preferred against him, despite the complaint of the girl's mother. He should have learned a lesson from this incident and stop white insurance agents, perfume agents and other types of poor white trash from frequenting their homes; for no reason other than that 12 years of age or more is safe around these攀援s, fiends and brutes.
One of the Pt. Arbitration Court
Joe Vinn, a baseball expert, says that Rogers Hornsby is on the top of the rankings. Since assuming the management of the Cardinals he has reorganized them so cleverly that they are doing well. Word came from the Mound City recently that Rogers Hornsby had arranged his team to play stock from Branch Hornsby, whom he supplanted as team leader. Hornsby, of course, feels humiliated by his dead stock from Branch Hornsby, vice president of the Cardinals, it is merely a question of time when he will decide to never all business revolve around the controlling stockholder. The good playing of the Cardinals has allowed the team to lower their clinical performances under Hornsby, has embittered the latter to such a degree that he wants to be able to make satisfactory arrangements with his employer. Cardinals have several minor league teams, including Syracuse of the International, and Breadwolde like to have Hornsby look after them. But Hornsby believes he can do better.
In justice to Rickey, it must be said that he handled the Cardinals in the game. The club's heavy indifference was wiped out and Breckenridge stepped to the front with enough money to buy out a player. The Jets through Rickey soon controlled the club. They also got hold of three minor league players and the purpose of developing new material.
Meanwhile Hornyza was looming up on the National league champion篮球队. The Jets through McGraw, offered $25,000 for his release, which was turned down coldly. The Brooklyn club was the Brooklyn club proposition of $275,000, made by the late Charles H. Ebbets in good faith.

Trade Winds
The rotation of the earth and the movement of the air toward the equatorial regions to supply the vacancy of the atmosphere, the consequent motion upward of the air there gives rise to trade winds. Trade winds are the result of the course of trade toward the equator. In the northern hemisphere they blow from the northeast, and in the southern hemisphere they blow from the southwest.

PAOD ROADS. AUTOS AND “JIM-CROW” COACHES
Southern delegates to the recent session of the National Negro
Business League, held last month in Tulsa, Oklahoma, especially
those from Texas, Loulsia und Arkansas, showed their contempt

1y traveling overland in thelr own automobiles.
With the advent of rood roads throughout the Southern states
‘and more colored people owning automobiles, which are now classi-
fed as necessies instead of luxuries, the railroads are sure to feel
‘this slump in business ; particularly during the spring and summer
‘Seasons when automobile travel ean be made with litle or no diff

TBven now with roads that are good, bad and indifferent, so many
of our people much prefer the hardships of such a. road trip than
‘the humiliation, embarrassment and indignities 6f the damnable
‘nd diabolical "jimmcrow’” statute nd coach.
* This does not mean that our people object to riding In eodches
or sections of coaches on the railroad trains provided and set aside
for them, as a partial compliance with the laws of the Southern
tates covering separate but equal accommodations for the two
sce; but they do very sicenuouny and vehemently objec ey
ing first-class fare and then being foreed to ride fn coaches unit
for even cattle and swine-such conditions as obtain on the vast
majority of the passenger trains operated in the Southern states,
‘Texas being no exception in this respect.
Ta firatclass, reputable grocery store or dry goods house were
‘to charge colored customers one price for commodities and then
‘nell these aame articles to other races at a lower price, such stores
“nd merchants would be severely condemned anc exposed through
‘the ot pitiless publicity and ere long their business would
“find iteelt in very precarious condition.
“Still the railroad companies of the South engage in such a bie
