The election results, returns are too meager at hour of writing this article to discuss same at length, but we shall have something to say along the way. Hush, little Robert, don't you cry, We'll have fair elections and by and by!

LET US HAVE PEACE.
O
MONS had been taken. Ramigines, a few kilometers east, had fallen to the advancing
Canadians the day before. It was ten o'clock in the morning. Troupe were moving through on their way to the water. They were under way. Parallel roads covered with marching columns. Then—and suddenly, unexpectedly—there came the water. It was terrifying about this order. Officers stood talking excitedly in little groups along the road. Several staff automobiles were on their way to corps headquarters.
The hait was long. It became longer, the boy has grown up to be in the time of fighting before he something had stopped the movement of that splendid fighting machine, the
Dispatch Rider's News.
Just outside the little town of Hammamis a group of Canadian soldiers watched a high-powered motorcycle come leaping down the road from the hill. They had come the battle of sharp and continuous firing. The big guns had been silent since ten o'clock. The dispatch was upended so upward that a slow uped so upward to shoot: "It's all over, fellows," and sped on. His words dispersed all double as to the tumors that had been growing. Two soldiers detached themselves from the party and went to the old house, where the edifice still stood, but the roof had been damaged and was partly gone. Walking up to the altar, the figure of Jesus was visible. Notice only his lips moved as he gaved upward to the broken windows through which a pale sunlight made him. He was one of the clerics who took the advice of Cardinal Mercier and had stared with his fock to support them in the time of enemy fire.
- Bearing Good Tidings.
As the soldiers approached, one tapped on the shoulder and told him: "La guerrera est fin!" The old soldier laughed and had on and on his breast a medal. He had fought for France in 1870, as he told the soldiers later, and had put on a medal. He drew up the enemy the previous day. "La guerrera est fin!" He repeated the words as in a dream. Then came the soldiers from far away, the two soldiers from far away, the cure climbed the winding stairway to the church tower. He will announce to the villages and towns of Belgium that they are liberated and that the Boche has gone. he said. The old man gripped the rope. Then the old first peal of the bells of peace when the two soldiers heaved with all their might, below filled with people. The old cure looked down and motioned with his hands to the parishioners to come close up, for them to listen to take part in a ceremony of
ringing the bells of peace in France and Belgium. The bells of the Belfairs. And then came the answer—first in the betrayry. And just when the old cure came the glad tides, later the new cure, the everywhere pealing, farther than we could hear, for in that hour all the bells of Belgium and France, as far as the Spanish border, had taken up the Canadians went down with the cure. Others had taken over the task in the betrayry. And just when the old cure came the glad tides, later the whole civilians—had gathered in a great happy throng, there sounded a wild cry, a wonderful about of victory. Through their eyes, along came a song along a song called a Canadian cavalry, whipping it up in true cowboy style. Through their tears the old cure stood looking on. "La Belgique ennliste, libre et non libératés (Belgium free at last and here are not free), Paasen, in the Atlantic Constitution.

"Amritsar day should take equal
amount of time for decorating day as patriotic national
holiday," said Walt Greiner of Waco,

the Cleveland Plan. "The

greatest epheles of American history,

most powerful fighting machines on the face of the earth because
of the activities of the Ameri-

soldiers who were out and honor these boys by
observing the day of victory, to

much respect to the boys who sacrificed
everything to follow the flag and
fight for humanity and the preserver.
"Amritsar day should be a day of
replacing and Thanksgiving, and the
patriotic colors. The boys who were
wearing khaki have not forgotten the
greatest gifts they gave them on their return. They will judge by the interest in their celebration and the love of their country."

Jericho was the key to the land of Chann. A signal victory here would mean the death of young people. L failure would mean里例 rierable rille. Jericho Shut up (v. 1,3).
Jericho Shut up felt secure because Jericho was strongly fortified from the south. Approach to the city from the east was not thought of as the city of Jericho greatly alarmed by the miraculous crossing of the Jordan by the Israelites and their surrounding the city of Jericho greatly alarmed when out and none came in."
1. God's promise to Jericho (v. 2).
2. have given into thine heart Jericho's promise to the mighty men of valour." Because of this promise from the Lord their faith was strengthened.
4. God's instructions (v. 8, 10).
They were to encompass the people with seven priests bearing trumpets that were to be placed in the Divine Presence, went before the people. They encompassed the people once a day for six days and on the seventh day for six days. When the last circuit was made, the priests were to give a long sermon, and the people were to shout with a great shout and the walls of Jeburec were to fall down. 11. The Obedience of the People
111. The Fall of Jericho (vv. 17-20).
At the end of the seventh round having been made of the seventh round, Jericho was about a shout. As the walls clammed down, the Israelites clambered over them, slaying men, women and children, saving the gold, silver, brass and iron which were to be saved for the treasury of the Lord. However, Ra's army succeeded in saving them, according to the promise of the spies. This wonderful deliverance was calculated to inspire the people with courage, and how God could fight for them and deliver them from their enemies. Also, it would strike terror in the hearts of the people, and Trumpets and shouting of that day with its great victory is typical of the greater day when larger victories shall be won by the Almighty for His people. He will be struck into the hearts of the enemies of God's people (I Thess. 4:10, 17).
111. This whole lesson that spiritual victories are won upon principles and by means which are not sufficient in themselves. According to this lesson, an utter foolishness is in utter foolishness (I Cor. 1:17-20).

Causes of Thunder
It is not believed that thunder is caused by the influr of air into a vacuum, but by the violent heating and cooling of air, path which, produces a sudden and great expansion of the same nature, causes the thunder. It does not explain the relatively long duration of the thunder; this duration is owing mainly to the facts (1) that the several parts of a snake can move at the rate of sound from the observer, and (2) that sound travels at the rate of about a mile in five seconds, part to sound reflections, or echoes.
Watering Grass
Grass watered when the sun is shining on it causes it to become burned, and if this practice is continued the grass will die out.

This is not a personal position, but is taken in the best interests of public policy and to secure some degree of success to the hospital movement here; for, when any man employee his office to baltimore, he must be a good man; and Mr. Griggsy has pledged to the hospital, or even donors of smaller amounts or any sum whatever, he shows that he is too narrow-minded, small, mean and ungrateful to serve even as auspicious.

Apparently, Love (in keeping with his established policy of trying to destroy and defame every member of his race) rises from the political campaign of last July, during the political campaign of last July, this same editor-director put in circulation a report that this same Mr. Griggsy had taken to college of voters of Houston and Harris County, and Mr. Griggsy took this money and then double-crossed the "illy-white" politician; when as a matter of fact, Mr. Griggsy can buy and sell the money of a politician and hardly miss the change in the transaction.
HOUSTON, TEXAS, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1926
Well, lolks, that lintype operator is often referred to Mr. O. P. DeWal as a poisoned "dinemine harm," when it should be used. The lintype operator is trying to get in bad, or murdered one. Lots of differences between "harm" and "charm."
THE INFORMER'S POSITION STRENGTHENED.
In essaying to answer The Informer's recent attitude regarding the Houston Nrg Hospital, particularly as it relates to a current issue, Mr. B. Grigsby wrote: ("Constant Noise") Love, editor of a local "weekly sheet" and the one person whose membership on said hospital board is one of the main reasons for the cold reception now being accorded this move. Mr. B. Grigsby wrote: "The patient's unfitness for the position by his veiled attack and criticism of James B. Grigsby, and the slur made anent H. P. Carter and R. B. Grigsby, resident and secretary-treasurer, respectively, of the Union Hospital."
If Love is retained on the Houston Negro Hospital board of directors, not only is it probable that Mr. Griggs will refuse to contribute one cent to the hospital movement, but there is a likelihood that Mr. Griggs's business associates and friends will do likewise; for truly this recent thrust of Love at Mr. Griggs, as well as the recent thrust of Love at Mr. Griggs, will all "and will act as a boomerang upon the hospital undertaking, from the race's viewpoint, as long as Love is connected officially with this institution!
Have you found your gate, porch, swing or of pots or ferns? Both younin' and you'er, Detective Ed Jones and Charles Stewart, who recently engaged in running a police station in Californias are called on the race of Bill Run. Well, the race of fences landed their man all right and they were officials, officer record as palettes officers.
In commenting on The Informer's mention of a donation of $40,000 to the University of Texas four consecutive years, Love publicly declares in his sheet, in so many words, that Mr. Griggsby's "public promises" are not worth the paper they are written on, the breath he employed to make
ATHLETICS AND GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP.
Group of Antoch members discussing the listig of the membership for a financial drive. Some benemotion "no 'the Wires' are on their list."
According to recent news dispatches, some of our Texas white people demonstrated very poor sportmanship last Saturday, for news items chroniced the fact that a mob of football fans at Orange literally mobbed the football players of a Houston high eleven, along with the Magnolia City rooters who accompanied the team to said city, after the Houston entry had copped the game and eliminated the Orange team from district honors. The team's loss to the Houston college was fatally injured in a melee during halves in the football set-to between Baylor University and A. and M. College, which the Baptists won from the state Agies.

In other words, instead of congratulating and commending Mr. Gigaby, he should have done the same, this time, done, this board member uses his sheet to broadcast to the reading world that Mr. Gigaby was “merely shooting off and showing his pride,” a reputation for not backing up his public promises with copy of the reading world.
Miss Iva Howard, vice president, Mina Barber, former Oregon Barber. She returns from daily deposit. She knows the barber business from alpha to omega.
Not knowing Mr. Griggsy and his many benefactions and good turns done our race, community and society, one would readily conclude, after reading Love's fulmination and iniminations, that Mr. Love is like a dollar with a hole in it or an airplane—no good on earth.
It is to be deplored that high school and college athletics among the students are not represented in demonstrations are the vogues, and human life is regarded as a light vein; while the supporters and adherents of losing teams and teams of the gridiron game can not be good sports and take a hard line.

Just such veiled attacks as this on some of the leading members of his race, is the cause of the widespread objection on the part of colored citizens of Houston to Love holding even an honorary position on the new hospital board.
It does not require much self-restraint to celebrate a victory. It takes real honesty-to-goodies sportmanship and a big heart to know how to act in the face of defeat, how to take defeat and how to accord the winning side the consideration and honor due win.
After Love's little, mean and underhand attack on Mr. Griggsy in last week's issue of his sheet, we wonder if Mr. Griggsy will feel disposed to donate $1,000 or even $1 to this institution, as Love is. Love is identified officially with the hospital board of directors?
The building pessimists say that the children don't need to be beautiful, why doesn't it run on him! Speaking of a family in its nethings, the children are the baby garlic so that they can eat it.
Whenever education fails to develop this side of the students' life, then education has made a dismal failure, and it is time to abolish athletics in our institutions of learning, whether public, denominational or state schools.
In its two previous editorials on the hospital situation, The Informer had consistently refused to call any names, but merely asked who was taking who the objectionable board member was or is; and, as was to be expected, the guilty jury let out a yelp of the species for which he is noted far and near, and following his customary rules, he was asked to answer. Some of the leading members of his race—men who have contributed much in time, energy and money to keep open the doors of the Union Hospital, and support and assist every laudable racial justice.
Rev. J. H. Smith, Wesley Chapel pastor, busy helping money for church building fund. Their first unit looks mighty good at Dweb and Web
The primary idea of athletics and sports in public schools and colleges is to teach the young people how to play the game fairly and honestly; how to co-ordinate their forces and engage in teamplay; how to respect both leadership and authority; how to get the proper perspective on life (which is a game, and a hard one, too, from the cradle to the grave); how to conduct and deport athletes; how to conduct their life on defeat, and to at all times act so as to reflect the results of their educational training and athletic development.
MT. CORINTH BAPTIST
REV. A. HUBBARD, Pastor.
There is no member of our race in Houston who has made as many contributions to the city as young people. Griffey; and to think that a member of the hospital board of directors would employ his sheet in a vain and futile effort to discredit such a public-spirited man, is beyond humility.
In this connection, for the good of athletic contests between opposing team, it is incumbent upon their supporters and rooters to win the contest. In this context, sportsmanship as the contesting players; for it is not a mark not indication of real college spirit or proper home training for either players or rooters to lose their heads in the face of defeat or victory and perpetrate physical violence upon opposing players and rooters.
If our young people can not be taught in our public schools, colleges and universities the spirit of fair play, and if they can not be restrained from acts of disorder and destruction when intoxicated, we must be able to prevent such lacking in one of its fundamental and elemental prerequisites.
BIRTHDAY PARTY AT
EDWARDS RESIDENCE;
WIFE HONORS HUBRY
In neither school athletics nor life can one hope to win on every occasion, for even life is a game of give and take—more often taking than giving. and our young people need to be instructed in how to give and touching upon this particular phase of college and every day life.
When Love states in his "weakly sheet" that The Informer, through its editor, "is making an underhand fight on both the hospital and its board of directors," he is either parsimonious with veracity, or unacquainted and unfamiliar with common English.
An interesting event of the past week was the birthday party of Harvey P. Plummer, his wife. The home was beautifully decorated with home cut flowers, with a large table being played while some included a whist. James Ladd, being the lucky one for holding the highest points, was the host. Mrs. S. M. Collin and Mrs. Taylor Pilder were awarded the boozy
However, The Informer is not surprised at such a mobocratic demonstration as the one staged against the Houston high eleven in 2005. The informer has been accused of one of the most lawless and heathenish communities in Texas for, when mobbists will lynch and kill people because the courts of justice do not give verdicts in keeping with the mobbists' idea, beaten up and practiced when their favorite team is beaten in an athletic content.
Love (what's in a name!) takes umbrage because the Informer stated that Messrs. Carter and Isaacs should have been considered in the appointment of the new board; and this paper still holds to the idea that the Union Hospital institution more support, moral and financial, than Love, despite the latter's record," which he often cites through the columns of his anti-race sheet!
As for Messrs. Carter and Grigsby, when notes amounting to $3000 were past and pressing the Union Hospital and foreclosed on the property, they were these men left their offices, got in Mr. Grigsby's car, drove around the city and raised every cent of this money from members of our race, and saved the Union Hospital to the race, city and society. Mr. Grigsby also paid his $110, but his chief newspaper critic does not seem to be listed as having contributed one red pen when he was the president, because he is just part of the record! (Please stick a pin here, dear readers!)
According to newspaper reports, the Orange mobbists not only attacked and assaulted the Houston gridders and rooters, but they also hurled missiles through the windows of the passenger coaches their best to fatally injure both Houston players and supporters.
After the games over a very long time, the food, the hostess and hostess showing that the know how to serve. Everybody left with a birthday would come more often and the hostess would come more often.
Such disgraceful and dastardly demonstrations must cease, or athletic relations should be broken off with any team whose action
These present: Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, and Mr. and Mrs. Leas brater, brater, and Thomas Emerson, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Emerson, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Emerson, and Mr. and Mrs. Woods, Mr. and Mrs. James Wille Woods, Mr. and Mrs. John White, Mr. and M. Colls, Misses: Misses: Jeffress, Lee McCounciar, Claremur
In this connection, not without gloating nor bragging. The Informer is delighted to observe that no such unsportsmanlike "stunt" has ever been staged in Texas in connection with either a high school or college football game, or any other kind of athletic training that colored schools; which shows that our group, despite all that has been said to the contrary, is not so lawless and "inferior" after all.
If there existed any doubt as to Love's fitness to serve on the Houston Nrgro Hospital board, and if some were of the opinion that The Informer's attitude was actuated by selfmits adversary and ulterior purposes, certainly Love's "dirty" attack on Mr. Grigaby for his "public promise" of $1,000, shows that The Informer was and is right in demanding that Love be ousted from the hospital
