BIG HOME-COMING FOOTBALL CLASSIC: COLORED HIGH vs. JACK YATES HIGH WEST END PARK, XMAS DAY, DEC. 25, 2:30 P. M.---Adults, 75c; Students, 50c HOME EDITION THE MIRROR By C. F. RrCHARDSON. THE PRINCE OF PEACE! In keeping with our established custom, The Informer takes this occasion to invite the wounded and friends the compliments of Christmastide, and to wish for every joy you peace, happiness and properly. The natal day of the Savior of mankind is celebrated with nificance and true import by the riotous celebration of Christmas Day, but the day is also a time for more actuate men and races in their dealing with each other, and that we have the mighty deeds and wonderful services of the Lord. He taught, the cause He espoused and the mighty deeds and wonderful services of the Lord. In properly observing Christmas Day, at the Prince of Peace, the Lowly Prince of the earth, the world through flesh is observed throughout Christmastoday, taught by precept and example that the great weapon of the true greatness is the service out regard to color, creed or class. Truly that was a wonderful message to Judae's rugged hills on that memorable December morn, when the birth of Jesus was praised and adoration to the Galilean shepherds keeping vigil over the world that saved His birth but could not perceive nor comprehend His real mission. Though born amidst ambiente, He revolutionized the religious doctrine of peace and good-will. Wherever there is rancor, hatred and undermindedness, work is necessary and deep-seated predisidence and Christ's ministry was mistrusted because His work was ready for the gospel of peace and love. The Christian religion is based primarily on Love, with Faith and Hope as handmade and no perceive of Peace or sorrow that harbors jahors and ill-will in his or her heart against his or her helplessness. May each of us shape our lives more and more in the daily examination of our lives. We can also to establish among the sons of men. To the world the Lord is come; Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sling. "He rules the world with truth and makes the nations prove. The glories of His righteousness, and makes the nations prove." STREET GRAVELING PROGRAM. The announcement from city hall that several streets in colored residences in Fifth wards would be graved during 1827, has elicited a bit of favor. Fifth wards have been included in the list for this type of improvement. The residents of color that this work can be gotten under way and completed before the city government has authorized colored residential sections, particularly in the Fourth Ward, are well aware of the damage during the rainy season of the year. In graveling these and other streets in the Fourth Ward, the Informer would like to see the city fathers give a little more attention to the maintenance of the gravels and their upkeep; for practically all of the gravels needed for at least one year, have run completely down and are in a terribly physical condition, due to the original failure of the street department to properly roll and care for these impoverished streets. We have observed that the gravel generally dumped into the street and the streets were ever employed to press and harden this substance, which, together with the ducks ruts and holes in the streets, was much of the usually wash, away much of the gravel. While congratulating and commending the Holcombe administration for the success of the colored cities of this municipality, the Informer suggests that the original placing of the gravel in these streets by the street department, and attended to wild some degree of regularity, is recent campaign for renomination and re-election. Mayor Holcombe announced that a program would be evolved during a new term in office, in order to have graved streets topped with an asphalt coating, paying for some of the costs. ROBERT L. ANDREWS (Pacific Coast News Bureau.) Since his remarkable purchase he has built the largest white banks and many other high class investment projects, but so far the investment has been substantial deposit in the Unity Finance Company, the only race organ company. No Complaint Heard Yet. So far there have not been registered any complaints from the wealthy Andrew neighbors, although they have been the most frequent weeks. The white press is strangely thin. The neighbors are afraid of the white press and outward demonstration. However, relegations of the place they live in this district, evidently free of racial insensitivity, the propagandists will undoubtedly make all the capital possible of done now on the front-foot paving plan. With the inauguration of this system of street paving, the citizens will take advantage of this opportunity to get more of their streets permanently. Together with peace we have prosperity. We have a reputation of having a reserve fund equal to that of the biggest and best organizations of our kind in America. Our every pledge is securely protected and we religiously carry them out. Our business is not only about protecting our families but eliminating every defect designed to lessen confidence. We take great pride in our mammoth reserve only because it supplies the means whereby our pledge to policy-holders is redeemed, and the principles of the Order effectively carried out. In this light it is a worthy motive of thanksgiving. Any man or woman thinking of increasing his fraternal insurance should think first of the ability of that fraternity to pay for the insurance that it is in proportion to both a large reserve and other funds in proportion to its membership, should be considered. The Odd Fellows of Texas, in so far as these things are concerned, invite the careful inspection of every Texan who is in need or more fraternal insurance. Read it! Think about it! Let the weight of the amounts of the assets and resources come home to you, then decide that it is the fraternity that you need to protect you. SOUTH'S GREATEST WEEKLY NEWSPAPER PROF. G. W. Here is indicated the wealth of the Odd Fellows of Texas. It is in excess of half a million of dollars. Real money for any concern of the Order must be entrusted to the head of the order of our people as they have existed for the past fifty years. Certainly that huge sum is evidence of the governing heads of that Order that guaranteed to you safety, security and competent service. Here is an organization that has a reputation for solvency that dates back for nearly as many years as it is old. Its officers are of the highest type. Its holdings in cash and real estate make its promises to pay as good as that of the highest rated fraternity and more secure. What more can a prospective policy-holder want in addition? ANY MAN WHO IS GOOD ENOUGH TO SHEID HIS BLOOD FOR A SQUARE DEAL TO BE GIVEN A SQUARE DEAL AFTERWARDS. NO MAN IS ENTITLED TO MORE AND NO MAN SHOULD RECEIVE LESS. — ROOBEVELT. HOUSTON, TEXAS, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 25, 1926 GEORGIA SCORES NOTABLE VICTORY. With the sentencing of nine white men to the state penitentiary for their participation in a lynching fest in the Cracker State, Georgia has scored a notable victory for law and order; and, despite the fact that the victim of the mob's fury was a member of the white race, the law enforcement officers deserve some commendation for the results accomplished this line. Lawlessness, like disease, knows neither color, creed nor class; and if the mobocrats of Georgia or any other American state can, with impunity, wreak out their heilish and heathenish vengeance upon members of the weaker race, it will not be long before they will seek new fields for their sport and treat a few members of the stronger race to their same pastime. For years the colored editors of this country have sounded this warning to those in official authority, and for preaching such doctrine and deyring lynch-law and anarchy, several race editors have been classified as "radicals," "agitators," "inctors," "trouble breeders," at eterna, and have been exorgiated, denounced and anathematized from "center to circumference." Lynching is peculiarly an American evil, having originated" in the Southern states after the civil war; but today it is not confined to any section, and its seed has been so firmly implanted in the minds and passions of white Americans that it is going essential as legislation to eradicate this monster evil from the domain of this republic. Georgia, for many years champion of or runner-up in the Lynching League, has made a nice beginning towards the disruption and destruction of this mobocratic circuit; and if that disruption and destruction the male institution must make the metal machinery the same abaible and offender manner when some black man or woman falls prey to the Lynching loop, it will demonstrate to the world that the state is making an earnest and sincere effort to blot out Lynch-law, and to assure and insure to every citizen—without regard to color, creed or race—a fair violation is trial when accused of and indicted for any alleged violation or infraction of the law. Even though the Lynching league has already surpassed its 1925 record in the number of mobocratic victories, the games do not seem to attract as many followers, partisans and rooters as the publicity and education must be conducted throughout the nation, and the South in particular, to acquaint the people of Georgia with the unpleasant reality of this mobocratic organization, presided over by Judge Lynch. While The Informer has never been overly enthusiastic for a federal anti-lynching statute, per se, yet this paper realizes that any law or agitation that will curb the activities and depredations of the members of the Lynching League of America, Incorporated, will be opposed to the Dyer anti-lynching measure, which is not other such bit that seeks to bring Lynching within the purview of the national government; but knowing the fate that has befallen and is still befalling other federal laws—even the federal constitution and its various amendments—The Informer has also been a national law against Lynching will not suffer a similar fate. In order to land votes and be retained in office, shrewd politicians will propose and support certain legislation for political reasons; but when the legislation is passed, becomes operative and amends the constitution, and animates the politicians will pass the enforcement buck to some other branch of the government and decry, mainly to their constituents, the tendencies of the times and the failure of the government to protect the interests of "all the peelup." The nominator, either the lynching evil must go or America must go! If America could not endure part free and part slave, it is impossible for her to survive part democratic, part mocratic and part "hellocratic." This is the law and the gospel, for on this incontrovertible fundamental hangs not only the law and the prophets, but the peace of the nation and the American and her time-honored and cherished institutions and ideas!
