MOTON RETURNS TO TUSKEGEE IN BETTER HEALTH
(By the Associated Negro Press.)
Tuskegee Institute, Ala.-Housed Tuskegee Institute, R. Moton, principal of Tuskegee Institute, returned Thursday evening to Tuskegee Institute for the purpose of recovering his health. Dr. Moton arrived in New York Wednesday on the S. S. Arabic campus where he was greeted by an ovation from students and teachers, and proved interesting as well as beautiful. He expressed gratification, however, when he learned how adequately the machinery of the institution had been carried on under his supervision as principal during Dr. Moton's absence. Conference was held Friday with institute executives on plans for the future.

Mammoth Concern Granted Charter By State Commissioner
Real Building and Loan Association Will Service Colored Group of City—Institution to Fill Long-felt Need Here—Begins Business With Clean Hands—Houston Editor Heads Venture—Sooner State Lawyers Guiding Geniuses.
With the insurance department of Texas granting a charter to the Real Building and Loan Association of Houston, to do business in this state for 50 years, it begins to appear that "Heavenly Houston" will soon have the type of commercial institution which has long been one of the urgent and crying needs of our racial group in this community. The incorporators of this association, which is pursued and capitalized at $10,000,000 are Carter W. Wesley, J. Alston Atkins, John D. Epps, Belzora A. Malvin and C. F. Richardson.
Probably the purpose of the association is best epitomized in its motto: Safety, Service and Satisfaction.
The officers are: C. F. Richardson, president; John D. Epps, vice president; J. Alston Atkins, secretary-treasurer; Carter W. Wesley, auditor; Belzora A. Malvin, assistant secretary-treasurer.
The officers have been appointed in the last decade, has been evident in the Negroes of the community and industry needed the services of a building and loan association as granted by the state department of ets.
Permit No. 197
This is to certify that the REAL BUILDING AND LOAN ASSOCIATION of Houston, Harris County, Texas, having compiled with all the requirements of law relating thereto, is hereby authorized to perform the building, improving and homebuilding, removing incumbrances therefrom and loaning money to members thereof within this state.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto issued and caused the seal of my office and to be impressed thereon in the City of Austin first by binding all officers and agents who handle the funds; next by binding only in their offices. All property is appraised by the directors, who are held accountable for correct appraisal by the state loan not to average over 66 2/3%

put under state supervision, there does not seem to be any necessary to say more. Shares Exempt From Taxation. The shares are not taxed to members as personal property and income up to $200 from shares is owed to them. It is said that every community or group of $2000 should have a building located at $2000 or $2,000 Negroes in Houston and vicinity without the facilities and advantages of a city. Since Houston entered upon its phenomenal growth in the last decade, it has been required to build Houston and vicinity needed the services of a building and loan agency.
Will Service Negro Race.
The Real Building and Loan Association was organized to fill this need. The association will build new homes, to buy homes at ready built, and to adjust loans that have been deferred to build new property. Wherever a mortgage is carried the association will see to it to make sure that all loans are carried on the property and that all taxes are paid. It will pay from 6 to 8 members. It will refund all accounts on 30 day's notice; and when only a few members accounts desire withdrawal it will refund without taking advantage of the benefits. It will send a mail department so that members may join and carry on all of their duties. The association is endorsed. The association expects, through its experts (it has three lawyers, one accountant, and an authority in accounting among the officers) to give valuable advice to its members at no extra cost.
Begins With CLEAN Hands.
This association starts out with the ambition to satisfy every member it wants. It has no great burdens put on the association (Continued on Editorial Page)

Comparison Will Tell!
Which has that Richness and Strength? Which has that superior Flavor? Naturally, Puritan Malt. Here are two good reasons why: 1—Choice grains of No. 1 barley; 2—Genuine Imported Bohemian Hops.

PETER BECOMES A DISCIPLE OF
JESUS
LESSON TEXT - Mark 11:45; 29-31
DOES THIS HOW? 29-31
AND I will make you to become a
disciple of Jesus.
**PRIMARY TOPIC - Peter Follows 2-3**
**JUNIOR TOPIC - The Great Decision**
**INTERMEDIATE AND NESPOTION TOOLED PEOPLE AND AUDIT TOOLING PEOPLE AND AUDIT TOOLING PEOPLE**
**GIVEN TO THE GOD**
1. Jesus Preaching in Gallus (v. 14, 15).
**The reason for Christ changing from Judas to Gallus is the growing opposition of Jesus to John the Baptist, as foreshadowing His own death. The rejection of the foreswain meant the rejection of John the Baptist.**
1. What He preached (v. 14).
**The gospel of the kingdom of God which meant the good news of the kingdom when the rule of God as predicted by the prophets would be realized.**
2. How He preached (v. 15).
**The gospel of the kingdom of God as predicted by the prophets would be realized.**
3. How He preached (v. 15).
**The gospel of the kingdom of God as predicted by the prophets would be realized.**
4. "Begest".
**The present that the people should turn around, change their minds and attitude toward Christ and accept Him as their King. The message of rejection which needs to be sounded out today.**
5. "Believe the gospel." Then, as men, need men to believe the gospel.
11. Jesus Called Peter and Andrew to become Fishers of Man. Jesus went to his kingdom in his kingdom. It is usually best to perform the Lord's service in paria. This has a threefold value. It makes the Lord's service more honorable on the part of workers and protection of the witnesses. It is to be noted that these men had previously been called fishermen (John 1:38-42). They are now called to serve. Observe: 1. From what they were called (x. 10). They were called from positions of definite service. They were fishermen. They were from the ranks of the employed.
2. To what were they called (v. 17).
3. To be "fathers of men." They no longer possess the qualities which made them good fishermen, namely, patience, bravery to the storm and darkness of the night, and the qualities which made them all night though no fish were caught, would make them good fishermen.
4. Their obedience (v. 15).
5. "Straightway they forsook their acts and followed Him."
6. To obey measure, painful perseverance, leading up of all business interests and leaving father behind. Regardless of the cost, they yielded promise of obedience.
7. Simon the Peter of Simon's House (vv. 29-31).
8. Soon after the letter of Peter and Andrew, Jesus called James and John. He sent them to the garden at Capernaum, where He cast out an evil spirit. This miracle caused him to be spread abroad.
9. When Jesus entered this home He found Peter's mother-in-law with a burning fever. We know that among them were suffering and are suffering ones and anxious and burdened hearts. To all such Jesus comes with love sympathy and power.
2. "They tell him of her" (v. 31). This was the proper thing to do in the case of a woman who was Jesus those of our spirituals who have need of bodily or spiritual healing. 3. "He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up." This act showed compassion and power of Jesus. At his touch the fever departed and strength was imputed.
43 "She ministered unto them." **v. 31**
**B31** This act shows:
1) That the cure was instantaneous and complete. When Jesus heals there is no halfway business.
2) Gratitude on the part of the one who healed.
3) Preparation of what Jesus had done.
All those who have experienced the healing power of Jesus will express gratitude to the service to the Lord and His discipline.
God's Indulgence
God is not over-indulgent. He is too loving for that. Because He loves us, and plan for our growth, He cannot be indulgent. He will not Justice his Justice stands side by side with His mercy, and cannot be evaded or out of account—Southern Mathod.
Finding Strength
Where shall we find strength for practical separation to God, except in God Himself—Echoes.

"Was your husband chopping wood last evening?" inquired Mrs. Pryer of one of the neighbor women. "I was in the office in the office all the evening. What gave you that idea?" "I why I heard him tell a man on a good bench of wood, and he was a healthy pile of chips before he quit."
**Right Aim but Wrong Shooter**
Briggs—Speaking of resolutions, one of my offspring resolved: I will try to be more even more this year than I was. Briggs—That's a noble aim. I should feel proud of the boy who made it.—Boy nothing. It was my daughter.
Borrower's Nerve
"The Jimmons are going to move." "Into a better neighborhood!" "Into a better neighborhood!" "Well, send over and see if they won't leave us their lawnmower, we've about worn it out, anyway. Tell them they will lose caste if they start on an elegant locality with a lawnmower."
**COULD SUPPLY THE TEETH**
*Legalization (to be given grafter)* "The trouble is with the back of teeth." *Old Gent (overhearing the remark)* "Beg pardon, sir, but if your BILL lacks teeth let me give you my skin card. Ifege artist and can supply the right kind.*

How Shocking
Show Manager—What makes you think that the fruit they threw at you was canned?
Ham Actress—I felt a jur.
**An Unsatisfied Longing**
Young Wife—Before we were married you said you'd be willing to go through anything for me.
Husband—So I am, dearest, but the way you hold on to your fortune is a caution—Brooklyn Enterprise.
