SUPREME LODGE ENDED
Chicago, Ill., Aug. 21, 1927—The twenty-fourth biennial supreme lodge of the Colored Knight of Palatines of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia ended in this city yesterday, the most interesting event of the meeting being the selection of the next convention city. The contest was between Dallas and Indianapolis, with the addition of up behind the Hoosier State capital-metroplans, resulting in Dallas losing the battle by a score of 6-7. Egger read the scores from a football tilt, and it was a stellar and bactic tilt, with politics
We have often wondered why the "North America, South America," etc., and we expected to behold such countries, from European, Asian, African and Australian countries; but we also represented appearances from these countries, nor did the call show any such representation. The pythians retain all that appellation name), when they were the persecutive Mesoamerican countries are too "far South" for the supreme chancellor feels that the time is not right for the other countries either of the western or eastern hemispheres. The supreme lodge is rather droll and drub, and devotes considerable time to the discussion of the matter. The leaders do not seem to have any program, other than to perpetuate the act and act otherwise. For instance, the supreme lodge was an effort at foresight or oratory, and not one single suggestion or objection to the act of touching upon the health and mortality of the members of the order.
Speaking of Mayor Thompson reminds me of the fact that Colonel Robbins, summits, who was one of "Big Six" mayoral candidates, the last mayorally campaign, has been rewarded with $5,000-per-year funding. The mayoral constitution having been created for the matchless orator and noted leader of the city, Whip has a $5,000 city hall post. The colonel has been mighty fine to the entire Texas delegation. Even when he was a candidate against Texas as host to the 1920 biannual supreme lodge and urged all of its members to apply to theapolis, Colonel Simmons, who is supreme lecturer, on a floor at roll call and registered his vote for Dallas, Texas.
We also had dinner one evening with Robbins, summits, who was a beautiful and W. Wren, who has a beautiful and

Must Be An Increase In Births
Health conditions were explained by Dr. Jackson, who has made a special comparison of the mortality rate of the colored and white people as outliers. "The Negroes were dying too rapidly," Dr. Jackson, "and we must increase our population, for population means and the more acutely our power, make us more powerful." States, the more earnestly the white man is going to work for an adjustment, I say, we cannot build with untempered power, poor health or a high death rate." The question, health? "Why are colored or national rather than racial. The remedy, therefore, must

This is Sunday morning, and we are here to welcome the students lines off in time for insertion in the current issue. Our Texas delegation has been reduced considerably, leaving only a few students and wife at Hotel Trever. We will be visiting Detroit, Mich., for a brief stay and probably attend a session or two of the Baptist Sunday School Convention, having been tendered a delegationship to the University of "Howeville Houston" by the week.

be of a national character in its application rather than racial. The Negro has made for himself an unenviluable reputation for being unhealthy, and it has been a great measure, he is himself to blame for this, but the entire fault is not his. The Negro is not a victim of ill health and high death rate among Negroes, but it is a victim of that lack of interracial cooperation and indigenous American life and culture. After pointing out how the ill health of one group affects the health of another, Dr. Jackson declared: "If the Negro expects to work in the opp and maintain that physical stamina which will give birth to enthusiasm on other issue, but they must work on every other issue, but they must work together in the matter developing within this nation better physical, mental, and social want to save themselves and America. No nation or people can build for themselves a useful service to mankind, if in spite of their insistence upon build with uninterrupted morat." 13

Three hundred and twenty-nine nurses have served during the flood and fifty-four are still on duty in Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas, where they are continuing the supervision of health work. They have worked approximately 165,500 acres of agricultural lands as follows: Arkansas, 10,000 acres; Illinois, 8,460 acres; Arkansas, 180,100 acres; and Mississippi, 21,000. To date 217,075 acres have been rebuilt. According to the report, the maximum number of people cared for by the Red Cross was 607,236. A total of 80,000 families have been given rehabilitation aid and more than 200,000 have been fed by the relief organization.

Citizens of Mound Bayou attributed the charges to the bitter fight which he has renamed the mansion, the "Dick Kent," widely known pool room, baseball and taxi-car owner in "Dick Kent," a former P. Boose, administrator of her father's estate. Intense feeling in which opinion has been sharply divided, with partitions on both sides, has manifested Boose with looting the estate and permit-making much of it. Originally it was estimated to be worth $150,000, but is now worth $100,000. Mint Montgomery, and Detective Branch still insist that their story is true and content that the failure of the police to front on the part of the doctor who attended Mr. Montgomery. She is in Mound Bayou who has her activity.
United States, if he should commit any crime? He might be impacched and put out of office, but even that would not be stitutionally permissible. Who could punish King George? Even the Georgia is only a mere heirarch, it would not be able to revolution to reach him. That brings us to our lodge organizations: the number of times that the king ought to be constitutionally limited—albeit he might be allowed to hold the office of president—the number of times. But when he is in office and is a candidate, he is hardly "beautiful." He has the "insidest track" to succeed.
This would effectually prevent the all-too-well-known nuisance of having a lodge officer, re-elected for several lodge officers, are sure to come to feel, and women are sure to see if the lodge is a private personal lodge, or are going to be definitely and constitutionally put out at the end of, say, five years back. If they can, then it will promote their virtue; for while they to make the people who act in a way they into office again. They will know that if they do not "behave," they will break in from the outside again.
Rotation in office, especially in the highest executive office, is the only way to throw 'em out far, and let 'em throw back to back. It will do it.

Mr. Boozes, in a statement, said that he regretted the case had not been closed. He said that might have been filed could have been refuted in open court. He attributed the inclusion of Mayor Green, Postmaster General, to his intimidate his friends, but said that he felt only sorry for his sister-in-law. Chicago, Ill., Aug. 23, 1927—Showing the fighting spirit so characteristic of Texans of both races, the Pythian delegation from the Lone Star State waged a hectic battle here last Saturday to capture the 1929 biennial supreme lodge of Colored Knights of Pythia of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. When the balloting ceased, it was disclosed that Dallas, Texas, and New Orleans, Indiana—trouted out at the last moment at the chest and importunity of Supreme Chancellor S. W. Green of New Orleans, Ill., who took the floor and waged a most bitter fight and conducted the most demagogic tirade against Texas and the South ever heard in any colored gathering in the history of the United States of America—came out as leader with 56 wites.
Delegates from Northern and Southern states, even some on the winning side, asserted that it was an empty victory for the Green faction, and that the injection of sectionalism into the supreme lodge had been a factor. Witnesses as the last of the invasions in the invitation from the Pythian grand lodge of Texas, the Lone Star State and city of Dallas, Grand Chancellor W. S. Willis, of Dallas demonstrated the fact that he was on the job, while Dr. A. S. Jackson of Waco, commissioner of education of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and member of the Supreme Chancellor, presented the answer to the New Orleansian's tirade and invective against the best white and colored citizen of the South.
Green took the position that he was unalterably opposed to the Supreme Pythian lodge meeting in the South as long as segregation, jim-crowism, discrimination and disfranchisement obtain in first section of the lodge. He answered that the next biennial meeting should not be held at Dallas in 1929.

Green Fears Willis, Rumor
The report is current in this city that Green opposed holding the 1922 supreme Judge in Dallas, Texas, he said. He said a candidate against him; and that with the wonderful showings which he made at such convention, Williams stock (in event the masterly Texas man against green) would be boosted considerably. The knowing ones here have been made by the Pythians of Texas under Willis' leadership has made both the supreme chancellor and some of the jealous and suspicions of the redoubtable Texas; and that Green and his supporters when it appeared that Dallas, Texas, has the next supreme judge literally
Green's Wife Insults Texans
Prior to the election and Green's vehement denunciation of Texas and the ensuing arrest, he was assured the Texas delegation, but when Green made his speech and represented to a viva vote, he cried "cold" and jumped into the Green Tidrington band wagon. Even the wife of the supreme chancellor, New Orleans, La., and lives off the sweat and toll of Negroes of Louisiana and Texas in her talk before the supreme court, she had several times and had never seen a colorful uniform rank of the order went to Texas, everything they had would be colored. New York City—SUCCESS seems to be the key to the success of those African leaders of the so-called Gold Coast of which Aacra is its principal city, who have been seeking for a number of years to be crowned the richest cacao in the exportation of cocoa. This is the impression gained from the announcement that Winfried Tete-Anca of Aacra, has just concluded the preliminary study of New York banking interests.
According to an account in the New York World, this arrangement hides the ending of a patriotic quest which has been the focus of London, and finally to New York. In negotiating the loan, the gentleman from the Gold Coast has been opposed by African and British Trade two of the five largest corporations, Ltd., which is allied to two of the five big British banks; Lloyds and the Westminster, and is representing the paramount chiefs of the Gold Coast. He has studied co-operatives in England and plans to establish a $1,000,000 co-operative company. The World quotes him as follows:
"I'm taking a white staff back with me, a white bank manager and accountants. I'll need Americans, because a good part of the bank's business is in the Americas. We don't use any New York Negroes. You see, while I haven't been in New York very long, I've got the impression Negroes over here haven't much business training and experience. There are a few insurance brokers or real estate brokers, but no one who seems to have an grasp of sound business. Mr. Tete-Ansa seems to regard the matter differently from some of his predecessors in the attempt to divert the flow of African coffee. Shortly

the Egyptian editor, historian and traveler, came to America and sought to establish a huge concern among African Negroes whose business would be to deal in the products of the land. He also hammed exhibited papers disclosing that he held the power of attorney to act for the richest planters in the region. It is not known whether Mr. Ali has ever foraken his efforts which were calculated to employ the money of the richest man of America. For a long time, he did not meet with success. According to British government reports, 88% of the world's cocoa comes from the Gold Coast of Africa. The United States except by way of London. Of it is handled by the African and Eastern, which, with its subsidiaries, fix the price of cocoa on the Gold Coast, and fixes it far below the price level. Mr. Tete-Anna explains
"A man brings his cocoa in to a company trading post on his head, sometimes travelling forty miles to the factory. The factor offers him a price on his cocoa. He may think it is too low, but unless he wants to carry the cocoa back forty miles again, he accords him a price. The trader usually doesn't want cash for his cocoa. He wants kitchen utensils, flour, gavy printed cotton goods, haberdashery and agricultural implements. The company sells them these things, Tete-Anna declares, "We want you to buy Mr. Tete-Anna now proposes that the cheftains and their subjects shall be Europe or America, the direct to Europe or America, there for the manufactured goods. There are there in New York, however who are investigating Mr. Tete-Anna, think in that adventure only."

I Am Grateful, Friends
WISH to thank the Pulpit, the Press, and the Public for your unselfish support given me in the recent crisis through which PORO COLLEGE has passed.
No less do I wish to express my appreciation for the many messages of interest and sympathy which have come to me; for the tender spoken word; and for the prayers of the faithful that an Institution dedicated to my race might stand untouched.
And I am grateful for the unprecedented demonstration of racial solidarity presented.
Your friendly interest, loyalty, and prayers during the recent upheaval have lightened, more than any other agency could have lightened, the way to bigger endeavor.
In recognition whereof, I rededicate to my people, PORO COLLEGE, and reconsecrate it to the loving service of Negro Womanhood.

One of the most interesting items in a coin bank collection is an ancient "bottulja" or baked clay jar about a foot high obtained from San Juan, Spain. It is made of clay with an opening of two or three inches in diameter. It was brought to Porto Rico from Sicily and the Caribbean and kept for a long time in the carrying of olive oil. About two weeks ago you received from us a schedule of approximately five hundred lines for one insertion as an advertisement for our products. Altho there has been only one insertion, and as yet we have not determined upon a definite schedule for your publication, the response from that one insertion has exceeded even our fondest hopes. Of the number of papers in which we advertise our products, The Houston Informer is by far the best medium, with the possible exception of two which have national circulation. We congratulate you upon the pulling power, from the advertising standpoint, of your publication.
We are enclosing herewith a news item which may have quite a deal of value to your readers. We are hoping that you will publish this in your net issue of your paper, not from an advertising viewpoint on our part, but as an item of real news interest to Houstonians.
We have read with a degree of appreciation, the incorporation of your paper in its new quarters, of the publishing house, and of the Building and Loan Association. You may expect from us, in the immediate future through the W. B. Ziff Company, a regular advertising schedule to be used in your paper for the Southwest territory.
With the most modern and best equipped printing plant in Texas and the Southwest, The Informer will devote its efforts now to producing a BIGGER and BETTER NEWS-PAPER; and advertisers, local and foreign, can not go wrong by advertising in

Negro physicians and nurses with a real knowledge of the health of our people live, are employed in these clinics. Most of them are paid little or nothing, by the Health Council from the money received from the Negro. Another big argument shows why every person is obliged to work in the hands of human services. Every person who desires to help is eligible to membership in the Negro Health Club. Members are of four pay $2.00 annually; (3) Supporting, where, pay $1.00 or more per year. In Philadelphia, Negroes die four times a year, their white fellow-citizens. No race, no place, no way, can get ahead in the race. They are held by side with death. Out into the stream the Negro Health Club has a staff of doctors, so we stand along the shore and watch the words of their appeal: "Help Goezer Tuberculosis!" Speaking to our nurses, I want to say that if Negroes have not public spirit and heart in them, this great human movement, then the race is a failure and not worth naval

St. Louis, Mo.-The National Negro Business League's annual convention after what proved to be the most significant event in the organization more than 28 years ago. The reception at the convention was relaxed from the labor of the sessions.
The report of Secretary Alben L. Hoover, the Negro Business League's definite program for the future betterment of the Negro community, was signalled from the experiences of the year, the reports and recommendations of the vice-president, Hert M. Roddy of Modye, the activities of S. S. Spandling, president of the Negro Business League, a very practical commercial relief project fostered by the league, the activities of Secretary Heyley's program for Secretary Heyley's program, a triple combination of the National Negro Business League, the Association Negro Press and the Department of Government for the purpose of assuring the Negro community with information and business counsel based upon facts for the benefit of the Negro community.
In connection with this and other equally important potentialities, Mr. Negro Business League, I am more than a representative executive committee of the National Negro Business League, I am more than a program of the League than at any time in its history. The executive committee is the founding committee to diagnose the condition of all business of the United States, so as to Negroes are concerned in constructing and encouraging Negro business men in all lines. CULLEN LOOKS AT SOUL
(Columbian Press Bureau)
Washington, D. C.—In an interesting review of a recently published volume of poems from the pen of Countee Cullen, the New York Herald-Tribune says: "One of the significant works in the direction of poeasy. The rich imagery and musical sense of this race direct its genius into singing channels for which the world of literate people has had cause to be most grateful. "Copper Sun," a volume of creuse, Gullene, adds another to the book verse of this诗本 which prove his situation in the work of Countee Cullen. There is a depth of feeling, an intellectual understanding of issues and situation in the work of Countee Cullen. The output of most other Negro poets. His is no surface maze satisfied with the songs of the field songs of his race. He looks within rather to the soul of the Negro.
"The wide attention given to his performance duplicated for this one, and there is no doubt but that he has made progress. Cullen came into the pockets of the motives which impel him to song, write I do, and sheel love the music in them. Somehow or other, he has been treated by the treating of the Negro of his joys, and his sorrows—mostly of the latter, and of emotion which I feel."

POSITIVELY NO ODOR —
It seems that a report became current or was instigated from certain sources which charged that the Texas delegation was endeavoring to bring the 1929 biennial meeting to Dallas, in order to run W. S. Willis against S. W. Green as supreme chancellor; and fearing Willis strength and leadership, apparently the governor made the conviction that it is Dallas's strength—or to play safe by staying out of Dallas and Texas.
Though defeated for the 1929 biennial convention, Dallas won a great moral victory, and the fight for the next meeting place was the only issue of the entire week which actually put any life into the supreme judge—not even being surpassed in interest by the governor. The governor was unable until victory perches upon our standards and the cause of real Pythinism, which knows neither section nor clime, will triumph over sectionalism, prejudice, politics, eavy and jealousy.

HOUSTON, TEXAS, SATURDAY, AUGUST 27, 1927
RAISING ISSUE OF SECTIONALISM
The injection of the issue of sectionalism into the contest for the next convention city by the supreme lodge of the Colored Knights of Pythias, staged in Chicago last Saturday, was a very unfortunate and regrettable incident, and the raising of such an issue proves a boomerang ultimately to the entire Pythian jurisdiction.
The fight for entertaining the 1929 biennial session of the supreme Pythian body was between Dallas, Texas, and Indianapolis, Indiana, the latter city being recognized stronghold of the Ku Klux Klan. Indianapolis was not in the race but, when the administration (that is the supreme chancellor—himself a Sisterherm and grand chancellor of a Pythian jurisdiction in a XIX century city) was sent to a way and sentiment in its publicity campaign for the 1929 biennial convention, inducements were offered the Hoorier State metropolis to enter the race against the Texas city.
Despite the fact that the Lone Star State delegation gave every assurance required by the supreme body—and even more, guaranteeing to meet and fill every condition requisite to holding such an event, adverse vote was taken and Dallas left to Indianapolis by 47 to 30.
IT WAS NOT THE ADVERSE VOTE THAT CAUSES THE INFORMER TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER AT LENGTH, (FOR TEXANS ARE THOROUGHHBREDS AND CAN TAKE DEFEAT CHEEFULLY), BUT IT WAS THE ATTITUDE ASSUMED BY HON. S. W. GREEN OF NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, THE TEXANS OF NEW ORLEANS, THE PYTHIAN ORDER, TOOK THE FLOOR AND WAGON OF THE MOST TITTER AND SUFFLE FIGHTS AGAINST DALLAS AND THE ENTIRE SOUTH.
Another disinguisg and exasperating spectacle was to see other Southern delegates, particularly from Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma, fighting Texas and the South, which course of action prompted some of the Northern delegates to admonish the "brethren" of the Supreme Chancellor. A NATIVE SOUTHERNER AND RESIDENT OF THE SOURTH ALL HIS DAYS, TOOK THE POSITION THAT HE IS ALTERNATELY OPPOSED TO THE SUPREME LODGE MEETING IN THE "FAR SOUTH" AS LONG AS THERE IS SEGREGATION, "JIM-CROWISM" AND DISFRACHISMENT IN DIXIELAND. As long as there is a reclined chair in a mob of white hooded ejected him in the Pullman drawing room in Florida and started to lynch him, he gave to his auditors the full and complete details of this incident. He failed to tell them who purchased the Pullman reservations and what the mob had been informed about the occupants of this drawing room. He failed to explain the fact that he is the distinguished guest of honor at the grand lodge of the Colored Knights of Pythas in this state every year; and has been both loud and profuse in his comments and compliments touching upon the fine manner in which delegates and visitors to the annual sessions of the order in Texas are greeted and treated with respect. He really made a DEMAGOGIC EFFORT TO PREJUDICE THE DELEGATES AGAINST TEXAS, ADDING THAT MEMBERS OF THE UNIOPM RANK AND CALANTHEANS, PARTICULARLY THOSE FROM NORTHERN AND EASTERN MEMBERS OF TEXAS, AND THE GER OF MOR-VIOLENCE IN TEXAS, AND OTHER STATES OF THE "FAR SOUTH."
When it is recalled that the majority of the colored Pythians reside in Southern states, and that the supreme lodge was organized in Vicksburg, Miss., and has held biennial sessions in cities such as Charleston, North Carolina, and Former IS OF THE OPINION THAT THIS SECTIONALISM ISSUE, AS RAISED BY THE SUPREME CHANCEILLOR AND HIS HENCHMEN, WAS MERELY A SMOKE SCREEN, and a RACK OF THIS OPPOSITION TO THE SUPREME BODY MEMBER OF THE TEXAS CITY, IT A BIT OF POLITICS, ENYV AND JALEOUSY. The Lone Star State jurisdiction, with W. S. Willis of Dallas, as grand chancellor, has made most wonderful progress in 10 years and today easily ranks as the richest Pythian jurisdiction in the world, having assets and resources in excess of $1,000,000, and having a large number of feats which has not been duplicated or approached by any other jurisdiction, either of the "civilized" North, East and West or the "uncivilized" South! The wonderful headway made by the Texas order under Mr. Willis of Dallas, the Pythian lodge, has to become unvous and jealous of the phenomenal achievements of the fraternity in this state—for the Pythian grand lodge of Texas does not suffer in comparison with the supreme lodge, if the recent Chicago session is a true sample of the type of biennial gatherings held by the order. It is clear that some of the national Pythian leaders are somewhat sore and peeved with the Texas grand chancellor, because Mr. Willis would not consent to bankrupt the Texas Pythian organization in order to provide funds for the completion of the national temple now under course of construction at Chicago, but which has met a financial snag, and which appears to be a
The Informer holds to the opinion that any man who resides in the South and makes his living off of Southerners; who holds high offices and positions of preferment, distinction and emolument as a lawyer, judge, or minister, and is the rest of the law for him, then said man vehemently and bit-

terly condens and denounces his common section to and before residents of other sections of the country—such man is either a hypocrite, ingrate or lacking in some of the finer attributes which constitute man of character, honor, integrity and stability.
ANY MAN WHO IS ASHAMED OF HIS WIFE SHOULD DIVOLTION, and start up in PUBLIC AND SPEAK DISRESECTFULLY OF HIS WIFE OR MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSE-HOLD.
While admitting that every American citizen has a right to his views and opinions, the Informer contends that no man is qualified to head a national movement or direct the activities of such an organization, who preaches and espouses the doctrine of sectionality, and resorts to incendiary methods to prejudice the cause of his opponents.
Since the supreme chancellor of the Colored Knights of Pythias is so bitter against the South (which includes Louisiana, his own home state), and since the South is such a rotten place for his political career, and since the South is so incendiary head of the colored Pythians of the South (and, incidentally, of the country), or remove to the North, or East. Holding such views, some moving should be done, and Mr. Green should either change his views, or remove his place of residence, or remove himself from the highest office within the gift of the Pythian juries-
MARCUS G
(By KELLY)
Some three years after a ternary constitution for a national government, and since New York has violated the law, he tendered his situation. Gandhi otherwise than I did, he carcerated for constance although he never did. The doctrine which of the former is accused of being the same as the technique employed by his agitation and his agitation by John Brown and John Green is quite generally of the same origin.
Mind you, The Informer is not "singing the blues" because Texas did not land the 1929 biennial session of the supreme lodge of Pythians, nor is this paper offering any alibi for the failure of the Texas delegation to secure the meeting in question; but this paper is taking umbrage at Mr. Green, himself a Southern Negro and a former slave, by his scourish attack upon the South and the insidious and infernal campaign of propaganda conducted by some of the henchmen and proteges during convention week, to prejudice the delegates against Dallas and Texas in particular and the South in general. When the fact is borne in mind that every member of the supreme cabinet—with two or three possible exceptions—lined up and voted for Indianapolis as against Dallas, and yet the delegates against Dallas and Texas were parents to one who knows the inner workings of such organizations that—had the supreme chancellor not sent the word "down the line" that the meeting should go to Indianapolis, and then consumed much valuable time in a weak effort to further prejudice the delegates against Dallas, Texas and the South—it is more than probable that the Lone Star State city would have emerged victorious. Furthermore, the delegates had to stand and openly announce their choice as between the two cities, (some more politics) and it required much moral courage and real manhood for delegates to openly攻 against the will and wishes of the supreme chancellor.
In deciding to meet in Indianapolis, the supreme lodge chose that city without a single invitation being sent by any official, municipal, state or county; or without being given any assurance municipal, state or county. Indiana juried him and after Katherine had withdrawn from the race earlier in the week, frantic efforts were made to trot out some other city to oppose Dallas, and the Indiana delegation was the only one that could be used in this respect. It is even rumored that the supreme lodge will be forced to take care of some of the local expenses incident to holding their 1929 meeting in Indianapolis, yet the effort to the Chicago meeting prepared to make any guarantee required to insure the entertainment of the biennial session. Despite the fact that the South is far from being the ideal for the black race (and no paper or person in the North, East, South or West has been more outspoken and consistent in its oratory than the North), neither this paper nor its editor is willing to admit that "the time is not yet ripe for the supreme lodge of Colored Knights of Pythias to meet in the "far South," to employ the words of Supreme Chancellor S. W. Green of New Orleans, La. The Elks held a national convention in Richmond, Va., the National Baptist Convention, the largest organized body of Negroes in the United States, to gatherings in Texas, two or more before the split and two since the rupture; the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, held in disregue by many white Southerners, convened in Atlanta, Ga., and even the supreme lodge of the Colored Knights of Pythias has held biennial conventions at Atlanta, Ga., Jacksonville, Fla., and Miss. (Where it was originally organized) and New Orleans.
SINCE MR. GREEN IS SO BITTER AGAINST DALLAS AND TEXAS, AND SINCE HE MAD MORE AWFUL CHARGES AGAINST TEXAS IN HIS SPEECH AND CAMPAGN AGAINST DALLAS AS THE NEXT CONVENTION CITY, WE WONDER HOW HE WILL FEEL IN 1928, IN THE EVENT HE SHOULD ARM WITH THE GRAND LODGE OF THE TEXAS PYTHIANS AT HOUSTON!
GOING A BUT FURTHER, MR. GREEN CHARGED THAT THE WHITE SOUTH WOULD INSULT EVERY NEGRO WOMAN WHO MIGHT ATTEND THE SUPREME SESSION AT DALLAS; ADDING THAT "THE SOUTH IS NO DECENT PLACE FOR ANY MAN'S WIFE, DAUGHTER, MOTHER OR SWEETHEART;" AND YET THE RECORDS DO NOT SHOW WHERE SHOUSE LIVES IN ANY OTHER SECTION OF THE COUNTRY!
Informer we have heretofore had a very high opinion of Mr. Green, and we have regarded him as a consistent, conscientious leader—a man with vision, backbone and stamina; one who believes in playing the game according to Hoyle, and this editor certainly would be pained to have such opinions changed at this time.
We have heard him on numerous occasions at the grand lodges of Pythians in this state extol the Lone Star commonwealth, and at Austin during last June, Mr. Green was loud and inked in the discussion of the state lobby for the duly liberal spirit exemplified in tendering the grand lodge the free use of the legislative halls!
