Total bonds for amunicipal purposes will be jointly distributed during the fate of each issue. The university will submit two proposals on its official bill: $600,000 for county hospital and $400,000 for county high school. The navigation district will submit one proposition amounting to $822,920,000 for the improvement of the Turning Basin. The university and navigation issues must receive a two-thirds majority to pass. The ninth State Older Boy Conference will be held in Marshall Man. State College, and Wiley colleges serving jointly as hostes to S. H. Fowler of Fort Worth, statewide director, approximately 400 boys, representing some of the students in Texas, will attend, and dresses will be delivered by Y. M. C. of national and international research. The conference will devote three problems affecting the birth, including religion economics, industry, education, politics and social relation. The leaders are asking all religious and organizational education officials to teach life from an aworthy angle, to send representatives to the Marshland leaders, to assure them are assured much information and inspiration which will help them in their work. Marshall leaders have assured the conference directors that board and lodging will be free for all the youth in the state, and that parents being transportation to and from the meeting and registration fee will be paid in hardship hardly amount to $1.50 in the aggregate. Taylor, a lawyer and former assistant United States district attorney, for the position as ward committeeman in the Third. DeWalt, proprietor-manager of the Lincoln Theatre, 711 Prairie, scored a signal victory in his legal suit against the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Corporation and the Loew's State Theatre, for showing King Vidor's sensational all-colored picture, "Halleljah," to a special colored audience at the Loew's State Theatre, 1012 Main, on January 16, 1930. Mr. DeWalt contended that the showing was in violation of the Lincoln City York firm for the first run contract for colored. A leader in the expansion and merger program is reported to be the Bank of Chicago, the State Bank State Bank. The other banks named in the merger project are: the Frankfort State Bank, the Bancorp State, the Bankers State, the Lincoln State, and the Industrial State. These five are what is known as "white banks, being owned and officered by The Douglass National Bank, Anchorage Overton, is not named, nor is the wayway National Bank, a new institute chartered through the efforts of the consolidation. J.—(ANP)—Harry Youn, a Chinese, was convicted on a criminal assault charge before Judge Smathers Wednesday, and sentenced to five years in prison. This report shows a relatively higher proportion of Negroes unemployed than 22.2 per cent of Negroes and 18.9 per cent of Negroes who were pronounced in one district in which 22.2 per cent of Negroes and 18.9 per cent of Negroes who were unemployed because they could not find jobs. The unemployment of unemployment in South Carolina is reflected in the following statement of conditions in the Bureau of Civil Education. It is 50 per cent decrease in farm revenue this spring among Negro farm workers. The large colored contractors are working about 75 per cent of the farm workers. The contractors are showing a preference for white workers. Common labor is in the farm or in other jobs or in either life or only working for time."
