Dr. W. R. Banks was one of the nine members of the simin of the board. In his address he stressed the seriousness of the unemployment situation among Negroes in the state and asked forty per cent of those graduating last session were still without employment. The principal school hardship was the lack of employment as well as its obligations and championship among all endeavors worthwhile. The principal left Texas following the resignation of Washington. D. C. to attend the Association of Negroes in New Orleans. Negroes held in city from Nov. 17 to Nov. 20, inclusive. He left as representative of the Texas institution.

Jesse O. Thomas, southern field director of the National Urban League, last week: "In compiling the data from the 2012 census, the city of Houston while making a recent survey of that city, I was in shock that the death exceeded the births for the year 1928. There were a huge population than there were births for the same period. This condition is not a problem for the Health officials, the Negro leaders, and the citizens in general, the urgent need for the disbanded organizations under which this element of termine what should be done to change alarming situation."
WHO WILL DECIDE?
By J. ALSTON ATKINS
Ordinarily, men's personal views are wholly immaterial, but now and then arise questions of civic attitudes and procedure which involve principles that are of general interest to the men of the community. The men who have different opinions to state their positions. The Houston Informer feels that the following facts disclose a question.
Monday, November 20th, 1820, the Houston Business Men's Club of which Prof. C. H. McGruder is president, having succeeded F. B. Richardson, rumped, passed a motion commanding the work of Jesse O. Thomas, Southern field director of the National Museum of the American Revolution, and authorized the president to appoint a committee to confer with Mr. Thomas, who was in Houston last week, and cooperate as he might suggest, in trying to establish a branch of the Urban League in Houston. Prof. McGruder applauded the committee, and Mr. B. Murr, chiefly of M. T. Murrell and Caster Weiler.
This committee conferred with Mr. Thomas upon his arrival in Houston and Mr. Thomas suggested that $5,000 for the first year would be sufficient to establish the Chest, and the proper procedure would be to defer any independent drive and take the matter up with the Chest officials. This was adopted unanimously by the committee and was done. The Chest of officials and the committee offered its cooperation to the Community Chest.

Medical Society of which Dr. C. W. Pemberton is president is easily aware of this dangerous predicament it puts in the face of it. But, the decisive cooperation of the city and county health officials, must be secured if they are to succeed. This condition is not due to any inaccuracy or to certain deacries or to our inability to adjust ourselves to the conditions may be found in our financial inability to secure proper living conditions in medicine and medical treatment; in medicine and medical treatment; in the lack of swimming facilities; in the need for a more widespread knowledge of the disease.

The Houston Informer, consistent with the policy of fostering constructive Negroes and of helping in such things as education and of helping to empower, employed the law firm of Narb, Akins and Wesley to fight the efforts of the city primary, in their effort to obtain the ballot in the coming city Democrat primary, in the city primary, and in the city primary. The chairman, according to purports, riffled off the Fremont, in 1875, brought by Editor C. N. Love, of the Fremont Presbyterian, in city City, Dane.

The court ruled that the adjudication had been held the question and become public. But the Judicial field court, said in part that, if the case was adjudicated in court, it would present a grave question of constitutional law, and that objections to take it up.
Mr. Nahle, who is head of the law firm of Alkirk, Mills and Cuney, and John C. Alkirk, who is in charge of his case, gave out the following statement to an Informer representative: "I am in charge of the case, whether that, both under the laws of state, as well as under the laws of the United States, nor whether that, the matter is properly presented to either the legislature or the court, when the matter is properly satisfied. In many respects the progress to either the legislature or the court is much less sustained. In many respects the progress to either the legislature or the court is much less sustained than in the county and state primary."
COLORED BANKS OF LOUISVILLE MEET FAILURE
**LOVE it all** i.v.i. **Ky.-ANP)** — The first Standard Savings Bank and the two Negro financial institutions of this city, failed to open their doors in 1920. They opened the two Negro financial storm which caused three of Louisville's largest banks to suspend their operations in the community situation in the community panchy, the two Negro banks closed on January 1, 1921, and appeared to be a run. The two Negro banks closed through two of the three banks. **O. J. Bannon** is president of the American Mutual, and Joseph R. Jay Kearney is president of the executive report that their banks are in excellent condition and said that they will be able to plan to pay their Christmas Savings funds. sometimes plans have been on foot to consolidate the two banks. Both president insist that their cleanliness is important to conserving their funds and that they will霉素, probably as a merge
Fundamentally the difficulty with the Loiretian Bank, the failure of Goldwell and Company, a brokerage house of Nashville, and the large investment carried large Tennessee banks with it. The Goldwells were closely linked to Kansas Bank. Browne, the director of Churchill Down, prevailed and the Loiretian Trust, the largest bank in Loiretville, with a wealth of $50,000,000. Rumors were to a run on Loiretian Trust and the debacle followed.

WHAT many call "indigestion" is very often but excess oil in the stomach. The plants can survive have been stimulated, and food sour. The corrective is an alkali, which neutralizes acids instantly. The best alkali known to medical science is Phillipine Milk of Magnesium. It has remained the standard anti-said with physicians in the 50 years since its invention. On one hand it will neutralize instantly many times as much acid, and the symptoms disappear at once. You will never use crude methods for your eyes, you will need a more pleasant way. A small bottle is sufficient to show its merit. Be sure to get genuine Miller Milk of Magnesium prescribed by physicians for more than 50 years in correcting excess acid, 25c and 50c a bottle; any drugrate.
