Thomas, southern field director of the National Urban League, last week: "In compiling the data from the 2012 census, the city of Houston while making a recent survey of that city, I was in shock that the death exceeded the births for the year 1928. There were a huge population than there were births for the same period. This condition is not a problem for the Health officials, the Negro leaders, and the citizens in general, the urgent need for the disbanded organizations under which this element of termine what should be done to change alarming situation." WHO WILL DECIDE? By J. ALSTON ATKINS Ordinarily, men's personal views are wholly immaterial, but now and then arise questions of civic attitudes and procedure which involve principles that are of general interest to the men of the community. The men who have different opinions to state their positions. The Houston Informer feels that the following facts disclose a question. Monday, November 20th, 1820, the Houston Business Men's Club of which Prof. C. H. McGruder is president, having succeeded F. B. Richardson, rumped, passed a motion commanding the work of Jesse O. Thomas, Southern field director of the National Museum of the American Revolution, and authorized the president to appoint a committee to confer with Mr. Thomas, who was in Houston last week, and cooperate as he might suggest, in trying to establish a branch of the Urban League in Houston. Prof. McGruder applauded the committee, and Mr. B. Murr, chiefly of M. T. Murrell and Caster Weiler. This committee conferred with Mr. Thomas upon his arrival in Houston and Mr. Thomas suggested that $5,000 for the first year would be sufficient to establish the Chest, and the proper procedure would be to defer any independent drive and take the matter up with the Chest officials. This was adopted unanimously by the committee and was done. The Chest of officials and the committee offered its cooperation to the Community Chest. Among Some of th ong Hou of the Ca Medical Society of which Dr. C. W. Pemberton is president is easily aware of this dangerous predicament it puts in the face of it. But, the decisive cooperation of the city and county health officials, must be secured if they are to succeed. This condition is not due to any inaccuracy or to certain deacries or to our inability to adjust ourselves to the conditions may be found in our financial inability to secure proper living conditions in medicine and medical treatment; in medicine and medical treatment; in the lack of swimming facilities; in the need for a more widespread knowledge of the disease. Mr. Nahle, who is head of the law firm of Alkirk, Mills and Cuney, and John C. You did him just right, and even if you had been to harm him, no harm came to you. He was a bad man in more ways than one, and I was to be rid of him.
