Taylor, vice president and director of the mechanical department. The Tukwakee Institute is a bama Natural Gas Company, a subsidiary of the Southern Natural Gas Company, a bauyed site of the bama Natural Gas Field of Louisiana. CRAWFORD FILES SUIT AGAINST HUNT AND PAPER CRAWFORD FILES SUIT AGAINST HUNT AND PAPER Dallas, Texas—a Damage suit has been filed in the district court of Dallas County by J. G. Wraeckow, the plaintiff, for $30,000 against J. H. Woes, owner of the Dallas Gazette and J. W. Hunt, the plaintiff's suit grew out of an alleged libelous statement published in the Dallas Gazette on December 68,1980, in which J. W. Hunt is alleged to have stated that Mr. Crawe had been wrongly accused of being to be brought to court in the courts. J. H. Owens, the Gazette Editor, is alleged to have compelled with Hunt in a libelous statement that he alleged false malice libel. Judge W. E. Tumlin, the widely known North Texas Building Dallas, filed and will conduct the suit for Mr. Crawe, who concerns makes a hot content certain, in the office of the District Clerk on the file deck of the District Court. LAWYERS PLAN A GREAT TIME FOR STATE MEET FISK IS PLACED AT THE HEAD OF NEGRO SCHOOLS FISK IS PLACED AT THE HEAD OF NEGRO SCHOOLS Atlanta, Ga.-For the first time in its history, the Southern Association of College Teachers annual session here last week, added to the list of approved Southern college institutions for Negroes, the schools of Texas, Vienna, Johnsch of C. Smith University, College, N. C.; Morsehouse College and Spelman College, Atlanta, Ala.; Virginia State College Peter, Thomas; Virginia State College Peter, University. This action was taken by the executive committee of the association by a committee composed of the presidents of the colleges: J. H. Highsch of Raleigh, N. C. and T. H. Jack of Eck University. Fikar was rated as a "class A" institution, having "met in the full form" of the "class B" institutions. The other six schools are rated for the present as "class B" institutions, meeting in full one or more of the association's standards. The practical will be the same in the class of all seven, in that credits and degrees accepted without question by other institutions to which their alumni may be admitted. It was stated that further inspection of Nigro colleges will continue until the approval of other institutions which have been accredited by the standard. Prof. Arthur D. Wright, department of Dartmouth, has secured a year's leave of absence for that purpose. He has established a committee investigating the investigation for the Nigro colleges. HOUSTON DEMOS ENDORSE VOTE SUIT FILED HERE At a call meeting of the Harris County Democratic Executive Committee, Hall plans were laid for an extensive campaign urging all members of the race in the county to pay their poll fees for the purpose of again securing the Democratic Party's Negro deputy Tax collector and the city of the interest in the other actions of the committee consisted in the adoption of a resolution to force Negro voters to forge its efforts to secure the franchise for city Negro voters through the Democratic Primary and pledging the full support of the committee to draw up and to present a petition to the city council and the Committee asking that step be taken to include Negro voters in all city Many questions were asked Ackerman, a member of the Committee, successfully which is now pending, and it was the Committee's response that the fight for the ballot for Negroes should be pushed vigorously through every possible means as long as C. WHEATLEY TEAM AND PLAYER WIN IN THE CONTEST Ira (Tam) Haywood, star halfback on the Wheatsburg High School football team, was voted the most popular team in the state. MOREHOUSE TO GET $100,000.00 FROM NEGROES Two years ago the General Education Board made an offer of $300,000 to Morehouse College on condition that Morehouse raise $100,000 among alumni and other friends. Of the $100,000 the Julius Rosewald Fund promised to give $100,000 provided Negroes give $100,000. Success in raising the third $100,000 depends also upon the gifts from Negroes and is assured if they each dollar, therefore, contributed by Negroes will bring five dollars from other sources. It is safe to say that if Negroes will give $100,000, $600,000 can be added to the college entrance fee to almost an amount one million dollars. With this inspiration, a vigorous campaign was waged among Negroes for pledges and cash. Many of them who pledged $1,000 and have paid have received a willingness to give more if necessary. Nashville, Term, and Franklin schools of agriculture at Orangeburg, Rosewall Fund was used to pay the salaries of teachers and to purchase such laboratory equipments as needed. The teaching personnel was composed of approximately 300 Negro agents were approximately 300 Negro agents enrolled at the three schools. The Rosewall school in Snow community purchased a school and cookware set. FALL CANNING Walter County club women are still canning; 600 cans of beef in various forms, including pears, and 14 pints of apple jelly were canned. WASHINGTON COUNTY CANS Forty-eight interested women in the Independence Community canned two varieties of pork to their own food supply. They are in the form of chili, stew, roast and canned. Dr. Channing H. Tobias, national secretary of the Y. M. C. A., who devised the Racial Adjustment*, and on the same evening conducted a group discussion with faculty and student rep.
