We never did and never will suscribe to such sentiment. We can't love the cuss who hates us be he white, black or red. We don't think such a sentiment is worth three whoops in the plutonian regions. We don't believe in crawling on the bellie to an enemy. The race will never amount to a as long as it turns one cheek after the other has been slapped. We must flight for our rights, all other people who won them did so and if we loose we will have the satisfaction of knowing that we did not play the coward. God hates a coward and so do all manly men.
The Republicans of the new state in their reorganization for the new state should not forget that duty demands that our boys should have recognition on the state Executive Committee. There should be two members at large elected, one from the East side and one from the West and these should represent the black phalanx of the Grand Old Party.

FOR SHERIFF.
In another column of this paper you will find the announcement of James Norman for sheriff. He was born in 1863 on a farm near Cleveland, Braden county east Tennessee. When ten years old he removed west to the Cherkee nation, settling ten miles north of Muskogee, where he grew to manhood; removing to Muskogee four years ago. He is responsible for the Five Civilized Tribes giving their consent for immediate statehood, which was an important an vital faction to the passing of the enabling act for the new state of Oklahoma. He is a staunch Republican, an aggressive, progressive, conscientious and exemplary citizen. He has plenty of character, capability and capacity to reach the goal to which he aspires. He is a chivalrous knight of the brave, level headed order; has sound horse sense and good judgement. He is a stickler for fair play and pushes the bad over the river Styx, and should he be honored by the people of Muskogee county will "make good"—an efficient officer hard to beat.
Every republican voter should attend his ward caucus on Tuesday night. We especially ask that the voters of the 3rd Ward be on gaurd at the City Hall as we elect delegates and choose ward committeemen that night.
The Phoenix slobbers, over an editorial published in a daily paper (published by Negroes) is the way Douglass puts it. The article has some good thoughts expressed and very much that is vicious and mean. Had it not been published in Gordon's paper, we would think Doug himself had written it, as most of it is in keeping with his line of thought touching the Negro. Among other things the article says "We must learn to love

Dear Sir:
Dear Sir:
Being so well pleased with Canada we wish my father and brother to come here. Will you please send them reading matter on Canada.
We have been here nearly a year and are delighted with this country. We have lived in Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan and we find Canada away ahead of any of them. We have had bright sunshine all winter so far, only two nice, easy snow storms. If it was not all right you know I would not want my father and brother to come here, but we think it is grand.
Yours truly,

Worth Knowing About.
If you need a first-class laxative, there is nothing better nor safer than that old family remedy, Brandreth's Pills. Each pill contains one grain of solid extract of sarsaparilla, which, with other valuable vegetable products, make it a blood purifier of excellent character. If you are troubled with constipation, one pill at night will afford great relief. Brandreth's Pills are the same fine laxative tonic pill your grandparents used. They have been in use for over a century, and are for sale everywhere, either plain or sugar-coated.

DOUGLAS' PLATFORM
Editor of Muskogee Phoenix
..Clipped from Phoenix of September 25, 1906.
The resolutions were written by C. B. Douglas, himself.
We, the members of the Republican Press Association of the Third Congressional District, declare as follows:
Whereas, there is an apparent misunderstanding existing among the voters of the district as to the position of the party on the so-called race question, and
Whereas, the Republican party has DISCHARGED its OBLIGATIONS to the NEGRO in that it gives him full civil rights, equal with every other citizen, and still stands for that policy.
Thebefore, be it resolved by this association that the Republican party of the Third Congressional District is OPPOSED to NEGRO DOMINATION in any sense.
That it stands for separate schools, SEPARATE COACHES and SEPARATE WAITING ROOMS for NEGROES which will have equal facilities and comforts to those furnished for other races. That it is opposed and WILL USE EVERY MEANS at its command to PREVENT the nomination of Negroes on any elective ticket, seeking the suffrage of the other races.
On this declaration of principles all classes and all nationalities of citizenship are earnestly invited to allign themselves with the party of progress and prosperity.

Pills, the Great Blood Tonic, Have
Been Curing for Years.
There is no more perplexing trouble
for a physician to treat than debility
cases, especially in women, in which
there is no acute disease but in which
the patient every day sinks lower and
lower despite changes of medicine and
similar experiments.
That Dr. Williams’ Pink Pills win
restore health under these conditions
is no speculation but the fact has been
proved in hundreds of cases similar
to that of Mrs. Sarah Ramsey, of 1008
St. John St., Litchfield, Ill. She says
“I never felt well after my first
child was born. I had a gnawing pain
in my stomach and could not hold any
food down. My head ached a great
deal and sometimes the pain went all
through my body. I had dizzy spelle
so that I could nct stand and seemed
to be half blinded with pain. These
spells would often last for over am
hour. My blood seemed to-be in a
very poor condition and my hands and
feet were like ice. I seemed to be
growing weaker and weaker and coula
not get around to do my work im
the house. I was extremely nervous
and the least excitement would bring
on a dizzy spell.
“For a number of years I was under
a doctor’s care but seemed to get no
better. I had heard about Dr. Wil-
Hams’ Pink Pills and I began to take
them. I soon felt better and gained
in weight and strength. My nerves
are strong now and I am a well woman
in every way.”
Dr, Williams’ Pink Pills are sol@

paid, on receipt of price, 50 cents per

THE SUCCULENT MINCE PIE.
Ingredients Needed For This Most Appetizing Winter Dessert.
Weigh after it is chopped three pounds lean, tender beef. Add to it a pound and a quarter of suet, chopped and freed from strings, six pounds tart apples, preferably Baldwins or greenings, chopped, six pounds sugar, four pounds seeded raisins, three pounds currants washed and dried, one-half pound citron cut in thin shreds, three pints sweet cider, one quart of stock in which the meat was boiled, three pints cider boiled down thick, three tablespoonfuls powdered cinnamon, two tablespoonfuls cloves, one teaspoonful each mace, allspice and nutmeg, two tablespoonfuls salt, one teaspoonful white pepper, one pint molasses, three pints jelly and as much more juice of preserves or jelly as the housewife may elect. Brandy, sherry or rose water may be added at the last if desired. Chopped prunes are deemed better than currants by some cooks, while candied orange or lemon peel, a little cold tea or coffee may always be added with advantage. This mince meat may be scalded before putting in the brandy or simply canned in glass jars or stone pots without cooking, its richness insuring its keeping. For the flat dweller, with no store room facilities, this amount of mince meat might have to be halved or quartered, but with a good cellar or cold storage room the amount will be found just about right to last the winter for the average family with normal appetites.
TO SERVE WITH ROAST BEEF.
New England Yorkshire Pudding a Palatable Accessory.
I often wished to have on my table the famous pudding which accompanies "the roast beef of Old England," but in my modern American kitchen I had no way of suspending a roast over the batter while cooking. Besides, my taste ran to light fluffy things made with baking powder, and my one attempt at using the old English recipe for Yorkshire pudding turned out a heavy, soggy affair. One day I used a little ingenuity with my recipe and since then the pudding has been a welcome addition to a roast beef course in my home. I take a pint of sweet milk, a pinch of salt, three beaten eggs, a teaspoonful of baking powder, and enough flour to make a batter of the consistency of pancake batter. I pour about one-fourth of a cupful of hot gravy from the roast into a hot dripping pan, put the batter in, letting the fat gravy spread to the sides of the pan, and I scatter more gravy over the batter in little puddles, and bake it 20 minutes in a hot oven. Cut into squares with a heated knife and served with the roast beef as hot as possible, it is very palatable—Housekeeper.
To Clean Rag Rugs.
A rag rug, after months of hard usage, should be thoroughly beaten, then hung up on the clothesline and a full force of water from a garden hose should be turned on it. After the rug is well dampened, a washing powder must be rubbed into the tufting and the water continued until the water that runs off begins to look clear. Let it drain well, then turn on a third stream for a final rinse. Leave it on the line until dry. Unbleached cotton and linen can be bleached in a similar manner and save much labor. Pin the cotton securely on the line, drench it thoroughly with the hose and leave it hanging; as soon as it is dry renew the spraying.
Salad Dressing
Two cups of milk, two tablespoons corn starch, moistened with some of the milk, four tablespoons of sugar, one tablespoon of salt, one small tablespoon of dry mustard, three eggs beaten well, two tablespoons of butter, one cup of vinegar.
"We Have Many Similar."
The following is an extract from a letter received from Mr. H. H. Meyers, of Stutgart, Ark.: "You would greatly oblige me if you would introduce Hunt's Lightning Oil at Millidgeville, Ill., as I have many friends and relatives there, in whom I am much concerned, and I understand the Oil is not kept there. I can recommend it as the best medicine I ever had in my house. It cured me of a bad case of the Bloody Flux in less than one-half hour, and it cured my granddaughter of a bad case of Cholera Morbus in a very short time."
World's Dairy Interests.
The importance of the world's dairy industries is attested by the fact that they warrant the calling of international congresses for discussion of the best methods of dairy conduct, the third of these having just been announced for convention at The Hague, during September of next year. The general secretary of the congress is Dr. A. J. Swaying, of The Hague.
Energetic Claridon Women.
That the women of East Claridon have fallen heir to the masculine energy which built the houses and farms around this neighborhood is shown by the fact that when you meet a team the women nearly always are driving. In this the women excel, and it is only an occasional farmer's team which does not seem to be in possession of some woman.—Chicago Tribune.
Never Overlooked a Chance.
When Bishop Talbot, now of the central Pennsylvania diocese, was "the cowboy bishop" of Idaho and Wyoming he never overlooked an opportunity of securing contributions for the missionary work in which he took such delight. On one occasion, while attending a meeting of church dignitaries in St. Paul, he was chatting with some other clergymen on the steps of his hotel when several hoboes came along. One of them approached and asked for aid. Bishop Talbot took him aside and after a short but earnest conversation the other tramps saw something pass from hand to hand. "What did he give you?" asked the other hoboes when they all started away. "Didn't give me nothing," was the disgusted reply. "I gave him a dollar for his blamed new cathedral in Laramie."
THE WHOLE FAMILY.
Mother Finds a Food for Grown-Ups and Children as Well.
Food that can be eaten with relish and benefit by the children as well as the older members of the family, makes a pleasant household commodity.
Such a food is Grape-Nuts. It not only agrees with and builds up children, but older persons who, from bad habits of eating, have become dyspeptic.
A Phila. lady, after being benefited herself persuaded her husband to try Grape-Nuts for stomach trouble. She writes:
"About eight years ago I had a severe attack of congestion of stomach and bowels. From that time on, I had to be careful about eating, as nearly every kind of food then known to me, seemed to cause pain.
"Four years ago I commenced to use Grape-Nuts. I grew stronger and better, and from that time I seldom have been without it; have gained in health and strength and am now heavier than I ever was.
"My husband was also in a bad condition—his stomach became so weak that he could eat hardly anything with comfort. I got him to try Grape-nuts, and he soon found his stomach trouble had disappeared.
"My girl and boy, 3 and 9 years old, do not want anything else for breakfast but Grape-Nuts, and more healthy children cannot be found." Name given by Postum Co., Battle Creek, Mich. Read the little booklet, "The Road to Wellville," in pkgs. "There's a reason."
