DON'T EDUCATE NEGRO-YARDAMAN.
Declares Schooling is Responsible for Crime
Gov. James K. Vardaman in his annual message to the Mississippi Legislature which assembled at Jackson Tuesday of last week again took a strong stand against spending public money for the education of the Afro-American, staying in part. "As a race the American, staying in part, the American," Time has demonstrated that he is more criminal as a free man than as a slave, that he is criminal in criminality with fearful ruthlessness but he is not criminal in 1850 than he was in 1850. In the South, Mississippi particularly, I know he is growing a new newspaper, now a newspaper with an account of an unanticipable crime committed by a Negroer, and this is the manifestation of the Negro's aspiration for social equality, encourages "gifts by the character of free education it," which helps to relate it up to the white people to maintain.

Friend, Underinker Jackson.
LOUISVILLE, Ky., January 5.—Some years ago two well-known understainers, Mr. J. C. Jackson of Lexington and Mr. William Watson of this city, made an agreement that the one who died first should have his funeral conducted by the other. This pact was fulfilled on last Tuesday when Understaker Jackson officiated at the funeral of Mr. Watson.
Mr. Watson had been ill for several weeks, and the funeral was one of the most impressive in this city. The sermon was preceded by R. Morrow of Quinn chapel. Resolutions of condolence were sent by all the local ladies from France, from Germany, and Watson was a leading business man and a member of the National Negro Business Association, which had been an understake for a quarter of a century to whom he leaves his business, has been noted for her devotion to his interests.

- The ethics of the Bible are being neglected, and the ethics of sordid commercialism and the doctrine of the unification of the white man are being scuttled to the winds and waves of humanity. It is up to the black man to read that little Book which says something about an unjustified slave who is for a life. But the black man is asleep, like the black slave whom Jefferson Davis saw on a big bale of Virginia cotton, fast asleep, and he was thinking of the Irishman. When in the theatricals the Collie race was ridiculed by the pugnosed, green whiskered, clay-pipe actor, he was ruthen-egged on the stage. The comedian in the "stage Irishman" is a thing of the past.

classic music. I need not say which is the more up
Many have asked me why my presentation of Grand Open this year is to be at the Fourteenth Street Theatre instead of Terrace Garden as formerly. These are my reasons:
This is the first time in the history of the world that our race has given a performance actively of classic music in a theatre. It is necessary, therefore, to have the stage appointments such as will enable the production to be given in a suitable and dignified manner, worthy of the great works and worthy of praise, so that we shall be raised in accordance with our dreams. A week's performance in a theatre is very different from one night in a bath.
Some will arise to be termed the social side, the dancing after the opera. But we do not need so much to prove to the world and to ourselves that we have our own side, and that we can dance and enjoy dancing, as that we can sing high-low music and enjoy high-low music. I need not say which is the more spitting.
I shall have something of importance to say to our race next week - These engage seats ahead may write to me at No. 35 What 117th street, New York.

KINK-INE
It was disheartening, Roberts, a famous British yearling take a make a study of the scalp of colored people for the past thirty years, and who, after much time and experience, has produced great Tonipe especially for the colored people. The doctor says that his experience and study has taught him that the scalp of the colored people requires a special treatment, and he has discovered the greatest *REMEDY* the WORLD has ever known for the HAIR of colored people. It will make the hair GROW from one to three inches per month if the directions and instructions are carefully followed out. We have many cases on record where the above results have been obtained, and we do not bestest the KINK-JNE is the only safe preparation in the WORLD that is guaranteed to make the HAIR STRAIGHT and make dry hair smooth and stop it from breaking off and falling out; takes out all the kinks and knots; causes Dandruff, makes the hair soft and silky, and by nourishing the body new life and vigor, restoring it to normal.

EDUCATION FOR WOMEN.
From The Florida Standard
The old failure that girls cannot cope with sex in college studies is false. More women are seeking admission to the schools and colleges of this city than the schools and colleges can accommodate. Especially is this at the Florida Baptist College. We think that woman justly deserves the highest branches of education:
