THE F. O. LUZ DRY GOODS company in the largest department store in Southwest Oklahoma and is known throughout the state for square, fair dealing with everybody regardless of creed, color or religion. They have built up one of the largest trades of any store in the state. It is a store where a child can trade and receive as much pain and attention as grown people. The men at the head of this large, and growing enterprise are close buyers and therefore can Ford to sell to the consumer at much less figure than most anyone else engaged in the same line of business—especially smaller companies. The store is well patronized by the best buyers of the color race and all have a good word to say for this gigantic enterprise which has contributed so much to the growth and procedurity of Gothic and carrionading country.

SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURL THE HISTORY OF THE MUSICAL AND LITERARY CLUB.
The Woman's Musical and Literary Club.
Is here to stay, if you please;
She has audited thus far on the sea of time
Still her banner's unfurled to the
breare.
Long live the Musical Literary Club
Composed of Women true.
Her subjects are white and lavender.
And we will explain them to you.
White is for purity we all know
Purity of life and soul;
And we are striving every day
to make it true as a whale.
Lavender is for constancy.
And we'll be constant ever.
And try to make this club of ours
A bond which never will ever.
The friendship and the love that's grown
In all three years of work.
We'll stand by this dear club of ours.
We'll stand we will not think.
Our metto is "lifting as we climb."
A sermon in that line!
We try not lift our fellowman,
And much our lives full time.
This club began in 1609
With a small little band of eight,
They were devoted and constant and true
For they came early and late.
There's Mary and Ida, and Mary F.
Procell, and B. Benton,
Without these useful members
What would our club now do?
Mike, and Mattie, and Anna,
And Nancy, and Sallie, and Nell,
What helpful members they have been.
Our minutes will surely tell.
Now there is Lucy, the songstress,
She warts like a bird,
And Maude and Sidie are not slow
Their voices are often heard.
Luzie S. and Aggie G.
O, they can help us some;
With us a land of loyal ones,
Now can't we make things hum!
There's Sollie V. and Emma P.
They are not often with us;
But should they drop out entirely out,
We know what they will miss us
There is M. I. D. a sweet, dear, dame
And Hattie A. the talker.
And D. C. J. the lively one,
Who cares so much laughter.
And then comes stately May I.
Oh she is such a blessing.
We love to listen to her works,
Her presence is refreshing.
Now, Josiah H., can talk some, tool
And Iiza quot al us give.
And Emma Mackay, papers write,
Which tell us how to love.
Now there is D S, what of her?
One of "all trades" is she?
She tries to sing, she tries to recite
And she tries to write poetry.
And there is M K., that dear one,
Our critic, too is she.
We know she has a fearful task,
To tell which last shall be.
Of biographies, and other work
Of good quotations, too
But then she always manages
to get right unto thy thro'.
If a little and humble,
The last to take their seat,
I should be with one often.
And make our last complete.
wyskie,
Dear friends,
I am very pleased to welcome you to our club.
We are well wishers of this club,
To whom we are indebted.
Jessie, too, is far from us,
In Washington, D. C.
Maude C., has taken her abode
In the city of K. C.
And now we pause to drop a tear,
For members who have gone,
Away from all things mortal
Into the great beyond.
There's Virginia and Fannie, and Lizzie
Luddy, and Cora too.
We know that we shall greet them,
When all things are made new.
We have left a page in their memories,
Which should last till day is done,
Unat we meet in that blest band,
Which outshines noonday sun.
Now we have, in these verses
True hard to make it plain
The history of our woman's club,
In which we all may gain
Much useful information, how
To make our lives sublime,
And do what 'are we had to do By 'lifting as we climb." Composed by Mrs. Della G. Smith.
AN APPEAL.
We, the board of directors of the Florence Critterden home are earnestly struggling to raise $500 in our property. We appeal to our friend and all concerned to help us. Do You KNOW You Cannot have Electric Power Advantage?
As one man recently, "Nowadays, we can do everything with electricity."
He referred to anything requiring mechanical force to make it operate.
In your business from your home, there is bound to be work that electricity performs better than it is done now and usually more economically.
We have a department in our organization which specializes in showing people how to use electric service.
If you suspect that ELECTRIC POWL.R can be made made useful to YOU, call in our New Business Department representatives, and explain your needs. Our men will be glad to take all the time necessary to make an investigation, go over the proposition with you carefully, and to submit authoritative advice, plans and estimates.
There will be no fancied grievence on our part should you decide not to make the installation.

The Old Reliable Kansas Packing House Market Fresh and Cured Meats, Celery, Poultry, Fish and butterine.
A. A. BCHMIDT, Prop.
111 EAST FOURTH ST.
Fitzgerald, Ga., April 9.—Between 1 and 2 o'clock this morning 100 men and boys were at a hotel where there were three colored delegates, who were attending the annual encampment of G. A. R. Department of the Carolina, Georgia and 11 bodies, dragged the Negro delegates from their beds, forced them to dress and carried them into the street.
After whipping the Negroes and cutting the G. A. R. buttons from their coats, the mob ordered them to leave town at once. The Negroes left.
The mob then proceeded to the residence of Mr. Nelson, past commander of the department, and manhandled the veteran, striking him several times, shots being fired during the fight.
The police declare the attack was the work of irresponsible people and was a matter of personal spite, as the same Negroes have been in attendance here at other encampments and no disturbance was made.
The white people at the garrill, Go show it on morn and contemptable print on April 9th by whipping Negro members of the G. A. R. and then driving them out of the city. The mob then went to the home of the past commander of the department and man handled him.
These low mean brutes of the South have taken the law in their own hand so often without molestation, that they don't pick individuals, but pounce on and brutally attack honorable as well as dishonorable men.
The contagion has become so great that they mob members of their own race. Such acts at Litzgerall are a disgrace and the memory of it is an eternal dishonor.
THE HURCH HARDWARE
store is one of the largest and most complete in the state and with such a splendid business as Mr. Hurch at its head, it is no wonder that the store has made such a magnificent success. He is one of those dignified, polished gentlemen highly educated, cultured and refined. He is broad and liberal in his views and in business transactions and a colored man with same rights and respect to he does the white. He is one of those liberal spenders and ever ready to big down deep into his pocket and contribute to any enterprise that will bring prosperity to Gothic and serenating country. Thus his store has become his quarters for most of the farmers in this and adjacent communities. For more than twenty years Mr. Hurch has been engaged in the hardware business and has built up an enviable reputation for honesty and fair dealing with all men regardless of race or religion. He has a large trade among the colored people throughout the country and he is one of those men who does not hesitate to tell you that he appreciates their trade and every colored patron will tell you in return that it is a pleasure to trade at the store. Mr. Hurch is a young man in the prime of life and a native of Illinois. We recommend his store to our many readers as the proper place to trade.
