Our Sunday School Work.
Our mothers, fathers and guardians must take more interest in the Sunday school work of our city more. With the membership that there are in our three largest churches, we should be able to have good attendance in each one of their Sunday schools. During our visit past Sunday at the Taylor chapel and Quinn chapel, we note a few thoughts. The Taylor chapel with a membership of over 250 members should have a Sunday school of about the same every Sunday morning, but the attendance is far this; out of this large congregation the attendance last Sunday was only about 60 in all. The pastor superintendent, and teachers seems to be doing air they can for the success of their school, and they cannot be the blame of such small attendance. The fault is in the parents and the members of the church, they must get interested in this work and make their child or children attend the Sunday school every Sunday as he do the public during the week.
During the afternoon we visited the Quinn chapel Sunday school, there the attendance were about 94 in all, ranging from about 7 to 60 years of age. This has a membership of about 150 members and should a Sunday school of about the same number on every Sunday.
During the past two weeks this department at this church has been pushed by the pastor and encouraged by its leaders and members until it has increased wonderfully and have improved in many things, they have added a fine new piano, several ice banners and a new supply of book and connections to all of this, they are preparing to make every one that attend a sack of candy on the first Sunday in every month. The is that we need good Sunday schools in all of our churches, they not only help the churches, but they cultivates the child mind and helps to make respectable young men and women. So we urge upon the christian fathers and mothers to get interested in our Sunday school work, help the leaders to push it, send your children every Sunday, either in the morning or afternoon, and when our children see that their parents are interested in that work, they will also be anxious and Sunday school's of our city will be a great success.
THE NASHVILLE NEGRO'S CAKES ALL DOUGH.
During the past twenty years a certain conscientious class of moneyed white people have been in the habit of loaning money to Negroes on their propensity. These loans often went to save the home, either from an old mortgage or to save forfeitures on last payments on purchase money. Time went on and the Negro either paid his principal or interest when due. Now a radical change has taken place, a new set of colored lawyers have surruck the town, and the are making the Negroes believe that or a reasonable fee they can defeat to any kind of debt. But now the white people who have the money are becoming discussed, and the results will be that all e cumbered Negro property will son sink its level into the white man's hands. -Tenn- Pallidum.

Local Politics.
The question now is, whether are not--a citizens ticket
The friends of K H Gray are began to get a little afraid since they have found out some things
Police officers seems to be the only fit men for constable, there are three already in the field, namely, Mason; Bult and Lethwich,
Since M T Slane and El Ford has been spoken of as possible candidates for county collector, we notice that the McClure element has begun to think of the past
We can hear the echoes from nearly every corner, saying to Judge Harris, "Go Way Back and sit Down"
Some of the friends of James Ringens would like to see him judge of Eastern District again.
The race among the democrats for presecuing attorney is getting warm as there already announced.
A number of Lawyer Bowrons friends has been urging him to enter into the race for Prosecuting Attorney, but he hasn't yet decided as to what he would do in this matter.
Carb-stone politician has began their work, one says that he has become so powerful that he no longer has every candidates are running after him now, enstead of him running after them as heretofore.
The socialist has already put their ticket in the field, it is as follows:
For Mayor—E T Behrens
For Chief of Police—O Linsey
For Collector—John O Fisher
For Police Judge—Rufus Money
For Assessor—W S Embry
For Treasurer—Chas Hartenbaeh
1st Ward Alderman—Leuking
2nd Ward Alderman—J T Parish
3rd Ward Alderman—J Cone
4th W.rd Alderman—J W Neely
Since a citizen ticket is becoming so much talked off, we wouldn't be surprised if the next thing would be county ticket.

Intelligent stock raisers know that a certain amount of feed is necessary to keep an animal alive. They might feed that amount as long as it lived, and it would never gain a pound. There is no profit in that kind of feeding.
SHAVINGS
"Intelligent stock raisers know that a certain amount of feed is necessary to keep an animal alive."
The kind that pays is the kind that builds flesh rapidly. If it takes twenty pounds of food each day to keep a sheep alive, twenty-five pounds a day will make it gain flesh. It is the extra five pounds that brings profit. The first five pounds amount to nothing, nor does the second, or third, or fourth five pounds. It is about the same way with advertising. You have to
do a certain amount to overcome the passive resistance of the public. You have to do a certain amount of advertising to make them wake up to the fact that you are in business at all. You have to pay a certain amount to keep your advertising alive. What you pay above that amount brings profit. Some advertisers fail

From Infancy To Age
Mother and Child
Laxakola for Babies.—It is the best and most effective remedy for children. BEST because it is pure and safe being made entirely of harmless ingredients. BEST because it is non-irritating and never gries or causes pain or irritation. BEST because it is sure and never fails. BEST because "Children like it and ask for it." BEST because the toxic properties are so good and so strengthening that it keeps the little ones in fine, hearty condition.
It is a dangerous thing to give little babies violent cartilages that rack and rend their little bodies. DON'T DO IT—give them LAXAKOLA. For constipation, coated tungue, simple colds, restlessness, loss of sleep and fever it is invaluable.
A few drops can be given with safety to very young babies, and it will often relieve colic by expelling the wind and gas that cause it. It will aid digestion, relieve restlessness, assist nature and induce sleep. Great relief is experienced when administered to young children suffering from diarrhea, accompanied with white or green evacuations, as LAXAKOLA neutralizes the acidity of the bowels and carries out the cause of the fermentation.
"My baby is 16 months old and is teething. He was sick and I tried a good many things, but nothing needed to relieve him. I had a doctor, who said it was inflammation of the bowels, and that I would never pull him through it if he were under his care. When Law Laxakola was getting worse, I stopped giving him his medicine, as he could keep his mouth closed, was treated with colic oil very much, and used to scratch them he had a lot of what he was to close my eyes day or night. I gave him a few doses of LAXAKOLA and it relieved him. It to him a few times, and it worked like a charm, and he no longer rests pretty fair all night. He is a great deal better looking baby since I gave him LAXAKOLA, and I think it would work very well. They would also help to their sick babies."
MRS. MARY DALEY, 597 First Street, South Belfast, New.
Laxakola for Young Girls on the threshold of womanhood, has been found invaluable.
When they become pale and languid, face bloodless, eyes dull, head aching, feet and hands cold, appetite gone or abnormal, and their systems generally run down, they need building up, and their blood needs cleansing.
Give them LAXAKOLA; its gentle bowel action to cleanse, and its tonic properties to build up the system, will show immediate and most beneficial results.
It acts promptly, surely but gently on the bowels, and while stimulating the liver to increased activity, its tonic properties strengthen the nerves, renew vitality and restore color to the face and life and animation to the whole system. It is the only tonic laxative that strengthens and tones them up.
Laxakola for Mothers.—It is particularly valuable and useful to women, especially mothers, as it is a gentle and safe remedy to use during all conditions of health whenever their peculiar and delicate constitutions require a mild and efficient laxative and tonic; while to nursing mothers, worn out with the care of infants and whose systems therefore are particularly susceptible to disease, LAXAKOLA directly appeals.
It clears the complexion, brightens the eye, sharpens the appetite, removes muddy and blotched condition of the skin and cures sick headache to a certainty by removing the cause.
To women suffering from chronic constipation, head-aches, biliousness, dizziness, sallowness of the skin and dyspepsia, LAXAKOLA will invariably bring relief and a positive and permanent cure.
What Mrs. Elow, Puch, K. Palestine, O., Eo. 125, says about LAXAKOLA. "March 11, 1901. Received your sample, it has done so much good, send me a 50c. bottle." March 28, "Bottle came sale, did me a lot of good, dragged here don't keep it, so enclosed is 50c, please send me quickly another bottle. The last bottle did me so much good, want another at once." April 28, "Enclosed is 50c, for one more bottle LAXAKOLA. It has done me much good."
Laxakola for Old Folks.—In the Autumn and Winter of Life, when the various organs through long years of action have become more or less sluggish, it becomes necessary to stimulate them by some remedy best adapted to that purpose. So long as the stomach and bowels are doing their work properly and the liver and kidneys are active and strong, your food is assimilated properly, your blood is kept pure and rich, and your nerves are strong. The feeling of nervousness, general weakness and debility means that the whole system is run down and needs a general toning up.
That LAXAKOLA DOES IT, has been proved beyond all question. Its gentle warming, soothing action on the bowels, liver and kidneys, stimulates them to increased activity, cleanses the blood, quickens the circulation, and puts the whole system in a condition of health and enables it to ward off disease, while its tonic properties tone up the system and keep it healthy.
Laxakola Does It.
Blotched, sallow, unwholesome and muddy skin, with its consequent modification, often leading to morbid sclerosis and aversion to society and friendliness. It is a way to clear the complexion and restore it to its normal healthy, velvety condition is to clean out the entire system purify the blood and remove the bacteria.
Pale, Weak, Run-down, Overworked Mothers with Fretty Children, half sick, nervous, tired out with household and children, with a liverwort, with blotted, muddy sallow complexions, blood thin and impure, need building up and a thorough renovation of their systems. This is the time you need to rejuvenate your LAXANOIA, the great toxic lavatica. It

well as acting directly on the pores and assisting the perspiration glands in throwing off impurities. It purifies the blood as no acid medicine can, and your skin will not only be well but you will be well.
gently moves the bowels and thus removes the cause, acts directly upon the liver and kidneys, keeping them active and strong, while its marvellous tonic properties clear the complexion, stimulate the liver, quicken the circulation, increase the flesh and brighten the eye; the nervousness speedily disappears and the entire system recuperates and tones up to a condition of perfect and permanent health. LAXAXOLA is a gentle and safe remedy to use during all conditions of the health of the gentler sex whenever their peculiar and delicate functions are impaired by laxative and tonic and invaluable in assisting to relieve obstructions which otherwise would lead to more or less severe pain or illness.
LAXAKOLA acts as a tonic to the whole female system strengthening the organs and purifying the blood. It will cure the most confirmed case of constipation. With your lows and stomach free from refuse and impurities, and your blood purity complexions will vanish, and you will feel and look strong, healthy and vigorous.

Because of its purity, pleasant taste and gentle effective action, infants and the most delicate invades can take without disagreeable or harmful after effects. It is the most wonderful and valuable kidney remedy of the century.
It is a gentle, painless and harmless laxative. It is a wonder-ful, thorough medicine. It is a general builder of health and strength.
