THE RACE PROBLEM.
Various public spirited citizens are suggesting solutions of the race problem, and one of the solutions offered is that of migration to Africa or some other distant country. An Illinois reader of the Commander suggests that Africa is the proper place, and insists that if the Negroes go there they will trade with this country and be of great benefit to us. Senator Morgan of Alabama has been quoted as favoring the colonization of the Negroes in the Philippines, but Gov Hogg of Texas calls this a dream and says that the Negro race is increasing at the rate of 750,000 a year. He figures that if the government should undertake to send them to the Philippines it would take a tremendous fleet of transports. One transport carrying 2,000 passengers and making six trips a year would only carry 12,000 people a year. Fifty transports would thus carry but 600,000. It would seem that fifty transports would not be able to quite keep up with the increase in the colored population—Commoner.
There is only one practical solution of the race problem in this country, and that is to give the Negro the rights and oppor- ties guaranteed him by the constitu- tion, and let him work out his own salva-

Mrs. Agnes Tucker is yet on the sick list.
Mrs. Evaline Hampton is yet very poorly.
Mrs Sarah Tucker, mother of J E Tucker, return home from St. Louis last Sunday.

Charlie Simpson has built an addition to his barn.
The Smithton correspondent to the Times desires to ask some questions:
Why Rev Tucker is so attentive to some Sedalia girls? Look out, girls. I fear he is thinking something. I hear he is thinking of settling down to business. Well, Rev Tucker, it is very pleasant to wed.
Mrs Daisy Roberson is the mother of a fine girl. Mother and the young Miss Roberson are getting along nicely.
Miss Sue Hampton is up and at work again.
We learn that Charlie Simpson, jr, is very attentive to the Smithton widow who is new in Sedalia. Hurry up Charlie or some of the boys will beat you. They all like her.
DENVER COLO
DENVER, CO. Nov. 7, 1903.
Lillian M Gilbert, of Tipton, Mo, was happily married to Albert Norris, Thursday evening November 5 at 8:30 o'clock at 1846 Downing avenue. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Jones of the A M E church. The house was beautifully decorated with astors, carnations and chrysanthemums which was grand. The bride was dressed in a silk gown with long trail. The groom wore a full dress. The press' were numerous and very costly. After the ceremony a repast was served by Miss M Norris, daughter of Mrs Patton, mother and sister of the groom. The luncheon consisted of chicken salad, ham sandwich, ice cream and chocolate.
After the wedding the party assembled at the newly furnished home of the bride and groom which was in readiness for them. There the party partook of Port wine and toasts and exchanged toats to the success of the young couple. Those present for Sedalia were Lucy Hammond, Emma Booker and E S Bowles. The party left after extending the new couple a bright and prosperous journey through life. E Bowles.

The entertainment given at the Morgan street Baptist church Friday night was a big success. The affair was under the management of Mrs J H Newbill, who always makes a success of her entertainments.
Mrs. Mamie B. Smith and Mrs. A. G. Wheeler returned from Kansas City Monday where they went to attend the funeral of Mrs. Ellen Wesley, formerly of this city. Mrs Wesley was a member of Sharon Court and and of the Sons and Daughters of Charity. She was also a faithful member of Taylor Chapel.
The Conservator made a mistake in saying that the fair at the Morgan Street Baptist church was a failure. They raised $42.50 the four nights and had two rainy nights. Much credit is due Mrs. Mack and Mrs. Hurdle.
The C M E church certainly needs a larger house, judging from the sized audience that attended their quarterly meeting last Sunday.
Rev J W Brown, P E of the C M E church, dined with Mrs Chas Lewis last sunday.

The achme of the Conservator's spleen it seems was brought about, simply and alone, because John Ramsey had invited the Hon. P. D. Hastain to address the church fair instead of inviting certain "noble young men educators" the Conservator had in its minds eye.
The Conservator was evidently worked up to a high pitch of imagination while administering his scathing rebuke against Ramsey and the preacher, so much so that he saw United States Senators Gorman and Tillman before him. The TIMES has no comment. Let the dead bury its dead.

We would like very much far our subscribers to please be kind enough to pay us what they owe. We owe people and they want their money. Other people owe you mrney—and you owe us, and we want it because we need it to pay the other fellow.
President Roosevelt has sent his message to cong ss. It was short but strictly to the point. That's the way our president does everything.
Fhe democratic politicians are crying "who shall we have for president?" "Who shall we have for governor?" "We see our doom and who shall save us?"
Senator Hanna will be the leader in the great republican battle next year. That means victory.
The Buxton Eagle seems to have some grievances of its own after the Iowa election. What's the matter, brother? Are you not satisfied with that 60,000 republican majority?
We can't always have our own way in everything just because "we" run a newspaper. Other people have their ideas and their way of doing things now-a-days.
Yes, sir. It does look bad to know that a white man got two years for killing a Negro woman, and a Negro woman got four years for "touching" a white man. But did you notice that we did not have the Prosecuting Attorney in both cases. Mr. Kelly defended the white man and prosecuted the Negro woman.
When Mayor James Reed of Kansas City spoke in this city nearly every democrat appeared for him. Joseph W. Folk will speak here today and nearly all the democrats are, for him. We wonder who they are for? Are they just any way the drop falls?
THE PERPETUAL KNOCKER.
Just after every criminal court session you can generally hear some knocker knocking on every corner, about the decisions rendered, during the court, or about the prosecuting attorney's work in prosecuting some guilty person, as the case may be. Some of these knockers are found among

the colored people, who seem to never know when they are being treated right. They forget that when they elected the prosecuted attorney and judges, they elected them to do their duty at all times and at all places—and when a person is found guilty, to administer to him or her the law. But they don't think of this fact. They think that these officers should punish who they want punished, and free the ones that they want to go free without regard to his or her guilt, or the law, and if they do not do as they think best from an outside observation, then they are ready to hammer on them. We cannot or have we seen any cause to hammer on any of these officials, either the county or city so far as the law department is concerned. And when we find sucn knockers knocking against men who have tried to do their whole duty, as law makers and executors, then we know they are knocking because they want a political tip or to make a false political fight.
JOE FOLK IS HERE.
Joe Folk, prosecuting attorne of St. Louis, who has been doing a wonderful work in trying to bring the boodlers and bribers to justice, will speak this afternoon in this city on the democratic issues of the day. Mr. Folk no doubt has made a good fight against the boodlers and is yet fighting. But while he is doing this isn't he doing bis duty? Isn't he doing what the people of St. Louis elected him for? Then why should he stump the state making flowery speeches, and want the people to bow to him simply because he was elected prosecuting attorney of St. Louis and is doing his duty as such?
Mr. Folk may be nominated by a part of his party for governor, then he may be elected by the same party. But we do not see why he should have a better chance or pull for thss honor than any other public man in St. Louis, Kansas City, St. Joseph or Sedalia who has done his duty in the senatorial hali or the house of representatives nor any other public officer.
---
The Conservator in this weeks' issue attempts to straighten up matters in reference to what it said about the Morgan Street Baptist church fair, by referring to the committee who invited P. D. Hastain to speak. The conservator referred to the Fair last week in very abrupt terms. In our judgment the Fair was a very nice one. The decorations were such that commanded the highest commendations from every one, but the attendance could have been better, and if they could not have said anything good for these people they should not have spoken bad of them.

From Infancy To Age
MOTHER AND CHILD
Laxakola for Babies.—It is the best and most effective remedy for children because it is pure and safe being made entirely of harmless ingredients. BEST because it is non-irritating and never gries or causes pain or irritation. BEST because it is sure and never fails. BEST because "children like it and ask for it." BEST because its toxic properties are so good and so strengthening that it keeps the little ones in fine, hearty condition.
It is a dangerous thing to give little babies violent cathartics that rack and rend their little bodies. DON'T DO IT—give them LAXAKOLA. For constipation, coated tongue, simple cold, restlessness, loss of sleep and fever it is invaluable.
A few drops can be given with safety to very young babies, and it will often relieve cold by expelling the wind and gas that cause it. It will aid digestion, relieve restlessness, assist nature and induce sleep. Great relief is experienced when administered to young children suffering from diarrhea, accompanied with white or green evacuations, as LAXAKOLA neutralizes the acidity of the bowels and carries out the cause of the fermentation.
My baby is 4 months old and is teething. He was sick and I tried a good many tidies, but nothing seemed to relieve him. I found a doctor, who said it was infiltration of the bowels, and that I would never push him through protrusions. I asked for a warm water bath. I stepped into an adult sitting on his stomach. He was troubled with colic very much, and used to scream when he had a touch of it. I knew what it was to close my eyes day or night. I gave him a new drops of LAXAKOLA and it relieved him. I knew it to him a new wetsuit, and it worked like a charm, as my knees pretty good. I knew it to him how good it worked, and it was interesting else to their rock babies.
MRS. MARY DALEY, 207 First Street, South Boston, Mass.
Laxakola for Young Girls on the threshold of womanhood, has been found invaluable.
When they become pale and languid, face bloodless, eyes dull, head aching, feet and hands cold, appetite gone or abnormal, and their systems generally run down, they need building up, and their blood needs cleansing.
Give them LAXAKOLA; its gentle bowel action to cleanse, and its tonic properties to build up the system, will show immediate and most beneficial results.
It acts promptly, surely but gently on the bowels, and while stimulating the liver to increased activity, its tonic properties strengthen the nerves, renew vitality and restore color to the face and life and animation to the whole system. It is the only tonic laxative that strengthens and tones them up.
Laxakola for Mothers.—It is particularly valuable and useful to women, especially mothers, as it is a gentle and safe remedy to use during all conditions of health whenever their peculiar and delicate constitution require a mild and efficient laxative and tonic; while to nursing mothers, worn out with the care of infants and whose systems therefore are particularly susceptible to disease, LAXAKOLA directly appeals.
It clears the complexion, brightens the eye, sharpens the appetite, removes muddy and blotched condition of the skin and cures sick headache to a certainty by removing the cause.
To women suffering from chronic constipation, head-aches, biliousness, dizziness, sallowness of the skin and dyspepsia, LAXAKOLA will invariably bring relief and a positive and permanent cure.
When Mrs. Eow, Bath, E. Palestine, G. Boy, 145, says about LAXAKOLA "March 11, 1901. Received your sample, it has done so much good, send me a shot, bottle." March 28. "Bottle came, did not a lot of good, drupe here don't keep it, so enclosed is 600, please send me quickly another bottle. The last bottle has not so much good I want another at once." April 60. "Enclosed is 500, for one more bottle LAXAKOLA. It has done not much good."
Laxakola for Old Folks. In the Autumn and Winter of Life, when the various organs through long years of action have become more or less sluggish, it becomes necessary to stimulate them by some remedy best adapted to that purpose. So long as the stomach and bowels are doing their work properly and the liver and kidneys are active and strong, your food is assimilated properly, your blood is kept pure and rich, and your nerves are strong. The feeling of nervousness, general weakness and debility means that the whole system is run down and needs a general toning up.
That LAXAKOLA DOES IT, has been proved beyond all question. Its gentle warming, soothing action on the bowels, liver and kidneys, stimulates them to increased activity, cleanses the blood, quickens the circulation, and puts the whole system in a condition of health and enables it to ward off disease, while its tonic properties tone up the system and keep it healthy.
Laxakola Does It.
Blotched skin, sallow, unwholesome and muddy skin, with its consequent mortification, often leading to morbid seclusion and aversion to soak and wash. It is the only way to clear the complexion and restore it to its normal healthy, velvety condition is to clean out the entire system, purify the blood and remove the bacteria.
Pale, Weak, Run-down, Overworked Mothers with Fretty Children, half sick, nervous, tired out with household and liver torped, with blotched, muddy, sallow complexions, blood thin and impure, need building up and a thorough renovation of their systems. This is the time you need LASAROLA, the great ionic laxity. It
well as acting directly on the pores and assisting the perspiratory glands in throwing off impurities. It purifies the blood as no other medicine can, and your skin will not only be well but you will be well.

Constitutions require a mild and efficient laxative and tonic, and is invaluable in assisting to relieve obstructions which otherwise would lead to more or less severe pain or illness.
LAXAKOLA acts as a tonic to the whole female system, strengthening the organs and purifying the blood. It will cure the most confirmed case of constipation. With your bowels and rich, backaches, headaches, weak nerves, blotchy, muddy, sore complexions will vanish, and you will feel and look strong, healthy and vigorous.

I can't Worth 25c. To Be Cured of Constipation
