I Governor Robertson Writes to Star Editor The Editor of the Star is in receipt of the following letter from Governor J. B. A. Robertson, the same being in response to a letter sent the Governor in which Mr. Smitherman expressd his protest against the lynching of one Tom Owens, a young white man, and the sentiment "that there is no crime, however atrocious, that justifies mob violence." The letter follows: State of Oklahoma, Executive Office, Oklahoma, City. Mr. A. J. Smitherman Care of Tulsa Star Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sir: This is to acknowledge receipt of your valued favor of the 29th ult., concerning the recent lynching in Tulsa, and say that I appreciate your letter, and thank you for the interest manifested in the subject matter of the same. The Attorney General is now in Tulsa, making an investigation, and you are required to furnish him with all available information on the subject which you may possess, or or which you may know of. MOBS LYNCH WHITE BOY AT TULSA AND A COLORED AT OKLA- HOMA CITY Governor Robertson Aroused, offers Reward for Arrests of Violators In Both Instances Sad to relate, Oklahoma shook hands with the American lynchin state of Georgia last Saturday night at Tulsa and Sunday night at Oklah- oma City by lynching of a white boy and a colored boy by mob violence In the Tulsa instance, the hanging of Roy Belton, a white boy, was a sequel of a long series of "high-jacking" in whirth many taxie drivers had been held up, mistreated and their car taken away from them. Roy had been arrested charged with being one of a party of four which had held up Homer Nide, a taxicab driver, on the Sapulpa road, during which it is alleged that Belton struck Nida over the head with a revolver, and then shot him in the stomach, inflicting a wound from which he afterward died. Belton was held in the county jail on top floor of Court House, only accessible by an elevator, but owing to the Sheriff to take proper precautions his protection, the mob easily overpowered the Sheriff, siezed Belton and carried him to the scene of Nida's murder, and hanged him. It is said that thousands participated in this affair, amonf them being both women and children. In the Oklahoma City case, it appears that Claude Chandler, a colored boy and son of an alleged moonshiner, was lynched largely because of his color and further because he was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. His father's residence, located some distance from Oklahoma City, had been raided by revenue and county officers in search of a moonshine distillery. The boy's father was arrested and left in charge of two officers. Shoots were heard by an officer who had gone up stairs, and when he came down, the elder Chandler and tre two officers in charge of him were found upon the floor dead. The boy was sized by another officer on the outside, as he was attempting to escape out of the doorway. As Tyler, deputy sheriff was up stairs, and the other officers on the outside there could be no living witness able to connect young Chandler with the killing of any one. He may have been merely trying to get out and away. He was taken away from the county jail by two or three --- THE TULSA STAR men, one of whom impersonating an anofficer with a prisoner, gained access. Only a few men participated in the lynching. B. M. C. of G. U. O. O. F Meets in New York NEW YORK—Official notification has been issued for the convening in this city on September 12th,1920, of the Biennial Movable Committee of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows of America. It is expected that over 1,100 delegates from all over the country will attend this meeting. Extensive preparations by local lodges and households are being made for the entertainment of the delegates and visitors. FALLING PIECE OF TERRA COTTA KILLS HOD CARRIER Falling from the tenth floor of the new Mayo building, under construction at Fifth and Boulder a piece of terra rotta struck Zack Clinton, colored hod carrier who was on the ground floor, on the top of the head yesterday doring and crushed his skull, killing him almost instantly. The death missile fell from a wheel barrow load of the stuff which had just been lifted to the top floor by the elevator. The jar caused in stopping the ascent of the elevator probably dislodged the piece of stone. The body was removed to the Jackson Undertaking Establishment. Okmulgee Boosters Coming Here Mr. J. R. Garrett of the Exchange Insurance Co., received information Friday from Mr. Scott of Okauulgee, representing the Business League of that city, and headed by Manager Simmington of the Elliott and Hooker Store, would be in Tulsa on Monday, September 6th, Labor Day, arriving in automobiles one o'clock. The party will bring a band with it. A meeting of Tulsa boosters washeld Friday night at the Y. M. C. A., presided over by Mr. Garrett, and arrangements made for the proper reception of these commercial representatives. NATIONAL BAPTIST CONVENTION Special Train with Tourist Accom modations Passes Through Tulsa Monday Evening (Star News Service) OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 3—Bro. E. W. Perry, 511 East Third St., of this city announces arrangements have been made for special train leaving here Monday, September 6th, via the Frisco to carry delegates from Oklahoma to the National Baptist Convention to be held at Indianapolis, Ind., September 8-14. A chair car will be attached to train at this point, and a tourist sleeper at Tulsa. The rates for the round trip will be $40.90, and for board at Indianapolis, $2.00 per day. The train is scheduled to leave here at 1:45 Monday, reaching Tulsa at 6 Oklahoma are expected to join the party at Sapulpa. Unusual arrangements and attractions have been made the Indianapolis Baptists for p. m. The delegates from eastern the entertainment of all visitors. CHICAGO, Ill., Sept. 3—Ever since the expose of disfranchisement methods in the South, and particularly in Georgia, by Col. Henry Lincoln Johnson, before the Senate investigation committee, threats of many kinds, insinuations and inuendoes have been made against the well being and life of the Colonel. A representative of the Associated Negro Press took the matter up with him and sought to learn his feelings on the subject. He said: "Do you wish a news story? Well you can tell the world that I am going to deliver an address on the Campus of Morris Brown College, Atlanta before the greatest throng of people ever assembled in Georgia. I am going to tell them the truth as I see it, and I will not be afraid. I am going to send an invitation to every newspaper in Georgia, including the dailies, and I am going to invite the members of the Georgia Legislature, and all persons who have had anything to say about conditions in the South. I want them to be present and hear me." The date of this event has not been announced. However, direct information from Atlanta, Col. Johnson's home is to the effect that the people of that city are all ready to honor their advocate and leader. They have raised a large fund for his proper entertainment, and when Col. John arrives from the North, his feet will not be permitted to touch the ground, but he will be carried to a waiting automobile on the shoulders of admirers. Excursions will be run to Atlanta from all over the state. It is learned on very excellent authority that there are large numbers of right thinking white people who agree with Col. Johnson and agree that he is right, and that he should be backed up in his efforts to stop the crime of lynching and to open the door of the voting booth to the people of his race. OUR WOMEN HIT NAIL ON THE HEAD Oklahoma Women's Federation Endorse Enforcement of the Laws (Special to Tulsa Star) LANGSTON, Okla., Sept., 3—The Oklahoma Federation of Colored Women's Clubs, held its Tenth Annual session at Langston University August 25 ad 26. The Federation of Clubs was well represented by some of the most influential ladies of the State, having in attendance 90 delegates all of whom voted unanimously to continue to contribute to the two State schools from their budget, in order to raise their standard to higher efficiency, they also voted with no opposition to contribute to the N. A. A. C. P. $25.00 yearly for the enforcement of law and order to the descendants of the Hamitie division, of mankind. The delegates were also urged to work to their full capacity to do whatever good they can in the way of civic improvements and community work in their respective homes especially at a time when the chaotic state of affairs and efficiency so difficult to obtain. The Federation was indeed honored in being entertained by that great educator and fearless leader Pres. Murquess of Langston University and as a result of which the Federation was loud in their praises of his very generous hospitality. The meeting was supersaturated with harmony and mutual co-operation from beginning to end. The delegates seebed to have all been possessed of one mind which was to render service for the uplift and advancement of mankind. MBS. C. B. WAYNES. NEITHER BOMBS NOR LYNCH ING STOP US Dynamite Meets Colored Family's Desire for Better Surroundings KANSAS CITY, Aug., 30.—Police today were serching for the perpetrators of the second bomb outrage in three days by persons attempting to halt an invasion of white residential sections by colored people. A bomb set off in a house about to be occupied by a colored family, practically demolished the building early today and shattered windows over a radius of two blocks. A sign was found pasted on the front door later which read: "To colored people: Why try to come where you are not wanted. ATTORNEY MONROE DEMANDS INVESTIGATION Fulsa County's Talented Prosecutor Goes After the Law Violators *(Star News Service)* OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 31.—T. I. Munroe, Tulsa County attorney, reported the Tulsa lynching to Governor Robertson today, and asked aid of the state in the matter. Mr. Munroe said that sentiment was so strong in Tulsa, an investigation would be highly unpopular. He said he arrived the jail 10 min., after the mob had taken Roy Belton away, and failed to see any evidence of preparations to defend the jail by armed deputies. "Although I asked Sheriff James Woolley for an explanation of his actions, I have not yet had a satisfactory answer," he said. Race Man for Congress ST. LOUIS, Mo., Sept., 3—The Republicans of the Seventeenth Ward elected Ernest Patillo, a Negro, ward committeeman last Saturday in the place of Frank M. Slater, a white man who had held the position for several years. It is rumored that the Farmer-Labor Party in the 12th District intend to nominate a Negro to oppose Congressman Dyer, the present member from the district. U. N. I. A. WILL ELECT AFRICAN PRESIDENT Garvey Imagines A Black Embassy Will be Recognized at National Capital NEW YORK.—The Universal Negro Improvement Association of New York, of which Marcus Garvey is the "God's chosen" leader, in its sessions now in progress, proposes to select a president for an African Republic, yet to be established, and also an embassy of eight American Negroes, which is to be located at embassies from foreign countries. Quite a number of leading and well known colored men are mentioned as connected with Garvey's chimerical dream, among them Dr. Bundy of Illinois, W. M. Trotter of Massachusetts and John E. Bruce of New York. SHRINERS AND KNIGHTS TEMPLAR MEETING National Masonic Organization Hold Remarkably Interesting Convention (Star News Service) CINCINNATI, O., Sept. 4—Over 5,000 Shriners and Knights Templar attended the national Masonic Convention held here last week. The parade held last Tuesday is considered the greatest and most imposing in the history of the order. Competitive drills between Arab Patrols and a grand ball at Cincinnati's famous Music Hall were notable features. Bishop Sampson Brooks of Baltimore preached a most impressive sermon before the Mystic Nobles. A relief fund for the benefit of the Shriners was established. Caesar R. Blake of Charlotte, N. Bishop Jones Discusses League PHILADELPHIA, Pa., Sept., 3—Bishop Robert E. Jones of New Orleans, in his final summing up of the work of the twenty-first annual meeting of the National Negro Business League, which was held in Philadelphia, from August 18 to August 21, said: "The twelve million Negroes of America no have a deeper appreciation than they have ever had before of their value to the economic and social life of the Nation. Indeed, have a deeper appreciation of the fine men and women that the race has produced. American Negroes have today, a firmer faith that right makes might. We shall all work, contend and pray until the unchristian barriers are broken down. This has been the best session of the National Negro Business League." Brown of Munice, Ind., who has been making a speaking tour of various cities in the state in behalf of the Socialists completed his work at Enid today and has gone to New York. This eloquent man owing to failure in proper arrangements for meetings did not succeed as fully as his own merits and that of his cause warranted. But nonetheless he had a number of successful meetings which will bear fruit at least in awakening more liberal thought. Mr. Brown before leaving intimated that the Messrs. Owen and Garrison, editors of the two most fearlessly outspoken magazines in the country, the Messenger and the Liberator of New York City, are to come to Oklahoma tduring the present campaign in the interest of Socialism. The Y. M. C. A. Lifts Mortgage CHARLESTON, S. C., Sept., 3— The colored men's branch of the Y. M. C. A., has finished the payments on a $6000 mortgage on a double lot in Cannon Street. The association has been six years lifting the mortgage. It is expected that a building will be erected on the property in the near future. BROOKLYN, N. C., Augh, 31—Because white America insists upon "damning everything black and elevating everything white," Dr. A. M. Moore of Durham told the State Board of Public Welfare recently that colored people are using every means to become white. Men, he said, marry lighter women, bleach their skins, cross the color line and become amalagmated and lost in the white race. There is no such thing as superiority of races, according to Dr. Moore, for superiority comes only thru service to mankind. Jim Crow cars were condemned as iniquitous and politicians scored for magnifying faults and minimizing virtues of colored people. Captain of "Hell Fighters" Marries NEW YORK.-Captain Charles Fillmore, formerly of Ohio, who attained distinction during the world war as captain of the 15th New Fighters,' on account of their valor, was married recently to Miss Jessie S. Lee, a prominent businesswoman of Springfield, Ohio. The Captain holds a position as auditor of the N. Y. Income Tax Bureau. NEW YORK.-The colored long-shoremen and white long-shoremen engaged in a race riot last week, during which two colored men were injured so badly that they had to be removed to the hospital. The trouble arose over the white long-shoremen striking and demanding the discharge of the colored laborers on the river front. The colored men were outnumbered by the whites, but bravely defended themselves with rocks and staves until arrival of the police. An appeal is to be made for protection against the police, who strive to make it impossible for cofedred men to work on the river front. Bishops. NEW YORK.—Bishops Matthew St. Clair and Robert Jones will be accorded a welcome and reception by the members of the St. Marks Methodist Episcopal church in October. It is understood that the M. E.'s all over the country are planning these receptions in honor of their elevation to the bishopry. Baptist Hegira to Chicago (A. N. P. Service) CHICAGO, Ill., Sept. 3—According to the reports of the local Inter-Racial Housing Survey the Negro population of Chicago is close to the 150,000 mark. The report also state that the South Baptist Church membership has increased, during the past two years 14,000; the South Park Methodist from 125 to 1,465; Olivet Baptist from 4,453 to 8,430; St. Thomas Episcopal from 850 to 1,200; Grace Tresbyterian 230 to 450; St. Mark from 1,200 to 2,500 Pastor Jumps on Garvey NEW YORK, N., Y., Sept., 3—Marcus Garvey was heartily denounced by the Rev. E. Daniels, pastor of the St. Philip's P. E. Church last Sunday morning. Dr. Daniels charged Garvey with being guilty of the "white man's fallacy of thinking only of his own race, instead of the good of all mankind. Kansas City, Mo., Aug. 27—The National Meeting of the improved, Bee (Special to Tulsa Star) nevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the World which closed its 21st, session here Friday night is conceded by all to be the record breaker of all other sessions. More delegates and visitors were in attendance than ever before. The Organization showed an increase in membership over last year of nearly 9,000. Monday night at the public session many musical numbers and addresses were rendered, but to the State of Oklahoma is given the credit of carrying off the palm of victory. Mrs. Bernice Elfis-Perdue, the nightingale of Muskogee, accompanied by Mrs. Laura Smitherman of Tulsa, by special request, rendered several musical numbers and was forced to acknowledge the thunderous applause by three encores Critics present were unanimous in declaring that Mrs. Pe'due has one of the sweetest voices they ever heard and that the playing of Mrs. Smitherman was highly commendable. Lawer C. E. Corbett, who responded to the address of welcome of the Mayor of Kansas City, received long and continuous applause for his eloquent and pertinent oration. In a clear and entertaining manner, this young attorney won the hearts of his hearers as he pleaded the cause of his race and told the vast audience what the future held in store for them. A large number of Oklahomans were present from several towns and report an enjoyable time. The parade according to the white papers of Kansas City, was the grandest and most spectacular that has ever been held in Kansas City by any race or organization. The Annual Session will be held in Boston, Mass., next August The Index Knows Man and Church (Special to Tuba Star) JACKSON, Tenn., Sept. 4—In its current issue the Christian Index, the offical organ of the C. M. E. Church, has the following to say of the well known Muskogee pastor, Rev. Amos: "Dr. E. F. B. Amos, pastor of Bebee Memorial, Muskogee, Oklahoma, reports 1817, raised in a financial drive just closed. We call that a fine piece of work, but we are not surprised. We know the church and the man. Camden, N. J. Has Colored Fire Company (Star News Service) CAMDEN, N. J.—The Fire Committee at a recent meeting appointed five colored men, who are to be assigned to various companies for training before being organized into a single company. This is the first one for Camden and our people are highly elated. Tulsa Citizens "Indignate" A well attended meeting of Tulsa citizens was held Wednesday night at Masonic Hall to express indignation at the summary removal from the city police force of the Messrs. Albaugh and Green by the City Commissioners. At the same time a protest was made against the appointment of a Kansas Citian, named Gardner, as a patrolman. The opinion was expressed that if the Commissioners wanted a Russellite, a Sanctified Christian, a Holy Roller, or a "Choc" magnate, a Bone Artist, or a Tin Horn Gambler, Tulsa had 'em in bunches to choose from. A Committee of Fifteen Citizens was selected to wait on His Honor, the Mayor, and present the grievances brought out at this meeting. Alabama Masons Collect $156,000.30 (A. N. P. Service) BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept., 3—The Grand LodgeMasons and Eastern Star closed its annual sessions last Thursday with a brilliant reception. $156-574.30 was the grand collection for the past year. The increase of membership was 4,000. Walter Thomas Woods of Tuskegee was elected Grand Master. Lisen, Dear People of the Public, I am reliably informed that some of the would-be-wise ministers have told their congregations that my writings on Bible subjects do not amount to anything but that they will answer them every Sunday from their pubs. Now listen again, if these writings do not amount to anything, why take the time to answer them? Andagain, why idothe not accept my challenge and call me on the carpet before the public and show me up through the -scriptures? They attempt to answer my writings by attacking them from their own private pulpits behind my back is just like a man who would lay in the bushes and assassinate an opponent if perchance he could keep from being caught. In order that you, dear people, may know that I am in great earnest and desire to enlighten you, concerning God's plan of Salvation, I wish it understood that while I am a poor man and look to God to open the way for my living, while this side of the vale, will pay all necessary expenses any where in the state of Oklahoma to secure a proper public place for my opponents to meet me before the public and clear themselves, through the Scriptures of the charges that I have made and are making against them. Dear people, you should inform these ministers that there must be something wrong with their teachings as a reason that will not defend themselves before my face and the public. HILL I am fully aware that many of you who read this article will scoff and possibly say: "What on earth is the writer trying to give the people now?" Many people are of the opinion that the world will always be as it has been in the past. But based upon the plain statements of the scriptures, and the facts and circumstances as we seethem, it is clear to the properly informed Bible Student that the world of mankind has reached an end of some kind. But before giving our evidence to back the conclusion that the world has ended it is necessary that we explain the meaning of the word "world" as used in the scriptures. The Bible meaning of the word has reference to A PARTICULAR ORDER OF THINGS, or ORGANIZATION OF GOVERNMENTS, SOCIETIES, etc., that existed within a certain designated period of time—order or dispensation is the thought. God's plan for the dealing with man is divided into three great periods of time, called worlds or dispensations, the first world or dispensation (from the creation of man to the flood) is called in the Scriptures, the world that was. (2d Peter 3:6). The second dispensation (from the flood to the second coming of Christ) is called the world that now is, or the present evil old world, and the third dispensation (from the second coming of Christ onward without end) is called the world to come, wherein dwelleth righteousness, Rev. 21:1; 2d Cor. 12:1-4; Heb. 2:5. Right here, dear ones, I beg to remind you that we are now stand-up upon the threshold of the New World, or dispensation wherein dwelleth righteousness; but before -oḥī sūpṭaḥaḥ oḥī pāṭṭaḥaḥ aḥḥ aḥḥ rious and Blessed condition, we must be clenched and purified from all unrighteousness, injustice, oppression, and disposition of revolt against the new order of things; therefore, we note on every hand the purifying fires of trouble of every description are burning and must soon burn with such fury that the whole camp of humanity will cry out in dismay, feeling and fearing that all that was worth living for has gone to destruction. They will soon throw up their hands and cry out in earnest saying, "Where is God." Because of unfaithfulness to his righteous laws, God withdrew His favor from the Jews as a nation and permitted the Gentiles to have a lease of power upon the world to try themselves at governing the world. The Gentiles, like the Jews, A. W. K. needed to learn by experience that they were incapable of properly governing themselves or others. The Gentile Dominion, according to the Scripture, is a period of two thorsand,five hundred and twenty years, beginning 606 D. C., at the time when Zedekiah, the Jewish ruler, was dethroned and Nebuchadneezar, the king of Babylon, was enthroned. It follows then that the full period of two thousand, five hundred and twenty years would end 1914. A. D. would be say, it was God's fa the Jew ing of a the peri The p O daugh ter of a cometh having on an a of an a God foreknowing the course man would take, told through His prophet Joel 3:9-15, and Daniel 12:7, the present world condition. Prophecy is simply history written in advance, and whoever doubts the prophecies of the Bible fails to give Jehovah credit for having the ability of knowing His plans and stating them in advance, and also fails to give Him credit of knowing in advance the course of future events. We now submit twelve reasons from the the prophecy of Jesus Christ, the greatest prophet in the whole universe, in support of our assertion that the world has ended. Five days before His crucifiction His Deciples asked Him privately: "Tell us, what shall be the proof of the end of the world?" Matt. 24:3. The Gentiles had a lease of power or permission from God to try themselves at governing the world. This was a stated length of time (from 606 B. C. to 1914 A.D. a period of 2,520 years) and when that time expired the Lord began proceedings at once to oust them—they having become enemies to the one who had given them their lease of power. Now, Jesus referring to the end end of the Gentiles lease of power, in his answer to the question propounded to Him by the decipies, said: "The nations were angry and thy wrath has come and the time of the dead that they should be judged." Exactly on the time the ambitious rulers of the earth started the Great World War. Further answering the decipies Jesus said: 'Nations shall rise against nations and Kingdoms against Kingdoms, and there shall be famine and pestilence and earth quakes (Revelations) in divers places.' Further answering concerning the Jewish people he said: 'They (the Jews) shall trodden down of the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Every student of prophecy has understood that the reof of the Jews to Jerusalem would turn of the Jews to Jerusalem would and the beginning of a new order of dispensation. Jehovah, through the prophet Jeremiah, spoke to Isreal advising that people that they would be driven out of their own country into a country withwhich they were not familiar; that there they would receive great persecution and that this period of persecution and suffering would be the same length as the period of their favor, and that thereafter He would bring them back into Palestine and again show them favor. Their return to Palestine, Jesus mentioned, would mark the time of His presence and the end of the world—end of Gentile government (see Jeremiah 16:13-18). Through the prophet Zechariah, the Lord, Jehovah, foretold that there would be a great rejoicing in Jerusalem over the entrance of the King (Messiah) and that that day would mark the time when the "double" would begin to count. That is to say, it would mark the beginning of God's favor being withdrawn from the Jewish people and the beginning of a period of suffering equal to the period of their favor. The prophet says, "Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion; shout O daughter of Jerusalem. Behold thy king cometh unto thee. He is just and having salvation; lowly and riding on an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass." (Zaechariah 9:9) Matt. 21:1-9, records a fulfillment of this prophecy when Jesus made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, offering Himself as King. That great event transpired in the spring of the year, A. D. 33. The favor to the Jews began in 1812 B. C., and A.D. 33 marked the end of the period of 1,845 years, the time when Jesus officially withdrew Gods favor from the Jewish people, saying to them: "Behold your house is left unto you desolate." Since this period of time should be doubled, according to this prophetic evidence, we must add eighteen hundred and forty-five years to A. D. 33, which brings us should be some evidence of God's to A. D. 1878, at which time there should be some evidence of God's favor beginning to return to the Jews, in order that this parallell might be carried out. We find the fulfillment in history in this. While the favor was officially withdrawn from the Jews in the spring of A. D. 33, it was not until exactly forty years thereafter, A. D. 73, that Judea became depopulated and the Jews ceased to be a nation. Accordingly in 1878 favor began to return to the Jews and was marked progressively by the advance of Zionism and Jews returning to Palestine, until the end of forty years, in the spring of 1918, when a distinct event happened, again fulfilling the parallellism. The allied grinies under General Allenby had wrested the the possession of Palestine for the purpose of establishing in Palestine a separate and distinct nation for the Jews. Nathan Straus, a grand old man of American Jewry, in a speech delivered in New York City, during the progress of the war, said: "We are living in the age when we are about to realize the two thousand year old hope of the Jewish people. I am especially glad that we are witnessing the spectacle of the whole world applauding and approving and supporting our great purpose to re-establish the Jewish people on their own soil." Jesus used a parable as further corroborative evidence of the event that shoul be transpiring at the end of the world. On a previous occasion He had likened the Jewish people unto a fig tree. Now He says, "Learn a parable of the fig tree; when its branches are yet tender and putteth forth leaves, you know that the summer is nigh; so, likewise, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the door. Verily, verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled." In other words, when these events begin to take place, the people or generation then on earth would be permitted to see a complete fulfillment of the prophetic evidences set forth in this great prophecy, proving conclusively the ending of the old world and the coming in of the new. In further PAGE THREE replying Jesus said: "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the end of the world." Additionally Jesus answered the inquiry saying: "The sun shall be darken and the moon shall fail to give her light and the stars shall fall from the heavens and the power of Heaven shall be shaken." The Revolutions gives us a key to these symbolic statements; the sun represents the gospel of Christ; the moon pictures the Mosaic Law dispensation, and the stars represent the great number of preachers in the world—how wonderfully this is being fished now. The world, in its rush to carry out its selfish aims, is giving no heed to the gospel of Christ—Sunis darkened. The sacrifice of animals under the Jewish custom forfshadowed the Great Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, but this is being repudiated as foolishness by higher critics (worldly wise ones), therefore the moon fails to give her light. The preachers' position is one above all others but the great majority of them have fallen from this exalted position of teaching the truth and have taken their places in the common politics of the world, teaching only such things as are pleasing to the wicked world and which serves to gratify their own selfish aims—the stars fallen. As a result of the preachers' unfaithfulness and their powers of heaven—the great church systems—are being shaken. Humanity is restless and is questioning the creed of the different denominations and the divine right of kings to rule the earth. Continuing his answers, Jesus said that at the end of the world there would be upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity, the sea and waves roaring (meaning reht- and men's hearts failing them for fear of the things coming upon the earth. Who is so blind and so void of reason as not to be able to see the fulfilment of this part of the Scripture at this time. Additionally the Lord said, "The Gospel of the world for a witness unto nations and then the end shall come." The word Gospel means good news. Now listen, dear people: The world does not know that God planned on setting up a kingdom here on the earth. This is, should be and will be, good news to the poor world when their eyes are open to the fact that the Lord is now establishing a kingdom upon earth in which, by being obedient, many that are living and walking about on earth shall live throughout eternity and never go into the grave. But now listen again and remember what I tell you: As soon as this information concerning the kingdom here on earth is given to every nation as awitness (and we are sending this message is just before us, the world will recircumstances) you may rest assured there will be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation and just following this great time of trouble which is jut before us, the world will recognize the Kingdom of the Lord in full force and effect. We have not attempted to produce all the evidenre at our command to prove that the world has ended, but we are satisfied to rest our case upon the prophetic testimony of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Summing up the cirrumstantial evidence, as obtained from the Lord when asked to tell what shall be the proof of the end of the world, we find true to our Lord's statement, in 1914, the nations rose against nations. Famine is threatening the whole world; epestilence is raging and smiting down humanity from right to left and especially venereal diseases, which are said to be more destructive than war and which is now smiting down all grades of society, of both sexes and of all ages; earthquakes (revolutions) are rumbling and being heard in divers places. The Jews have returned to Jerusalem. The Gospel is being preached to every nation, as it was in Noah's day; the people are heedless as to the warning that the world has ended. The sun( the true darkened; the moon (the true significance of the Law of Dispensation) is not giving her light; the stars (the preachers) have fallen from their spiritual position of teaching the truth; the powers of heaven (the church systems) are being shaken, and distress with perplexity is upon the whole earth and men's hearts are failing everywhere for the things they see coming upon the earth. We are nearing the time of the fulfilment of the Scripture, which says, "Then shall there be great tribulations such as was not since the beginning of the world (Matt. 24:21) and except those days should be shortened there should be no fleshed saved." Therefore we are assured that while the destruction that is now upon the earth will increase in its destructiveness to surpass anything of scrow that has come to humanity since there was a nation, we have the assurance that some flesh—some people—will be (Continued on Page 2) THE TULSA STAR. Such an incident is as much a reflection on the courage of the race as it is on its sanity and sound sense. It is quite evident that the proper time to afford protection to any prisoner is BEFORE and DURING the time he is being lynched, and certainly not after he is killed. Any assemblage of persons with blood in their eyes and crying for vengeance AFTER a mob has committed a lynching is as much at variance with law and order and constituted authority as the mob itself. As a matter of fact, when they assembled in Oklahoma City, His Excellency, Governor J. B. A. Robertson had already exercised his authority to the limit and had set in motion all legal means for bringing the participants in the mobs at Tulsa and Oklahoma City to trear bar of justice. The matter was up the stage and county authorities for handling, and no one else. Scarborough Attacks Lynching NEW YORK—In a recent article appearing in THE INDEPENDANT, Prof. W. S. Scarborough, the noted educator and former president of Wilberforce University says: "There is but one remedy for race riots, and that is, justice—a willingness to accord to every man his rights—civil and political." Concluding, he declares: "The Negro is law-abiding and only occasionally shows a retaliatory spirit. Will not Americans put aside their prejudices and play fair with their people who have done so much to help win this war? Negros are not rioters, but can be madeso. It is a heavy burden they carry.
