Kennedy of Silanes For the first time in the history of this connection, which is now well along in the second century of its organic life, it has decided to hold a conference ofings in the state of Texas. There will be present nineteen bishops of the A. M. E. church, visiting Bishop James of the Colored Methodist church, the general officers and representatives ministers and missioners from all over the country, and the number from eighteen to twenty-five hundred people, many speeches, and many meetings—they are second in importance to the General Conference alone of the church. The occasion concerns every citizen of Texas in general and of Dallas in particular. The occasion was held in Baltimore, the pastor of St. James attended that session and the purpose of making the fight for the state's independence the next meeting. He was successful, winning over many of the great leaders of the movement. His fight the vote to come to Dallas was unanimous. The late general counsel of the commission Louis gave additional interest to this Council when it went on record that the vote for the Bishops of Texas and M. E. Zion church and the Colored Methodist Episcopal church and the election of the Bishops additional Bishops of Texas. SALEM BAPTIST CHURCH Rev. L. B. Skinner, B. D., Pastor. On Wednesday, evening, twenty-boys of the Association Headquarters and joined with the boys of the city in a lively, hearty program of songs and yellows, the Declaration of the Association and the program the boys were drilled in the meaning of the "Y" laws and the Declaration of the Association, the greatest ability to sing. At 10:00 we were mingling with the vast crowd headed toward the Cara for Dalia. All had been dressed in blue. The Junior Choir was in there full rumblers. The singers was most exerted when we had to on an extra touch which we did, even to the delight of some folks that hear us all the time. Arriving in St. Gilead at 7:40 we were actively in the church and furnished with all the things which was enjoyed by all present. All went home thanks the Lord wonderful care and protection. Finding of Manna in the Wilderness or Getting Water from Rock Would Not Have Been Wonderful After That Experience. It might seem reasonable to believe that in the wilderness the troubles and trials caused by cooking or the want of water are not limited, but according to Mrs. Mary Roberts Rinkshaw such is not the case. So essential a place in the routine of a chef is that you can expect that trouble with that important personage is a dire calamity. In "Tearing Tonight" Mrs. Rinkshaw describes the nerve-racking experience of trying to hold of an unstable cook. At the end of the second day, she says, we were well away from even that remote part of civilization from which we had started, and a terrible fact was dawning on us. The cook Now, the center of a camping trip is the cook. He has the hardest job that I know of. He cooks with inexperienced people, the open, where the air blows the smoke into his face and climbs into his food. Worse than that, he must have a hungry crowd of guides and packers that sit in a circle and watches him, and urges him, and gets under his feet. He is the first up in the hill to dry his hands on anything that comes handy, and then pack all his "grub" on an unleashed horse and go to the camp.
