SPIRITED DISPUTE WAGED AT GENERAL CONFERENCE IN REGARD TO HOW MUCH LIBERTY THEY SHOULD HAVE
Negroes of New Jersey Split in Two Camps.
After a hot debate it was decided to form a state committee. Oliver Randall, the chairman, motioned that each county be allowed a motion that each county should be allowed to form a committee of the Assembly. The Atlantic City chairman, John Huguz, of Paterno, came the real trouble. Amid grief confusion the meeting resumed. The sessions had been held in A committee Senate chamber. The faction opposed them, and there organized another meeting, while the Atlantic City men, with the committee, resumed the session in the state.

SUPREME AUDITOR'S OFFICE
SUPREME EMPRESS' OFFICE
In case of any church carrying on a revival for the saving of souls, in any town, city or rural district, our lodges must not meet; see their Secretary and pay—go to church.
All of our local Secretaries, in sending money to the Supreme Secretary, make three reports—one to Supreme Secretary with money, one to Supreme Auditor, one to Supreme Knight. This makes three of our officers know how much money is being sent to the office.
The Supreme Secretary turns every cent he receives over to the Supreme Treasurer every day, taking two receipts for every cent he receives over to the hands of the Supreme Auditor.
The Supreme Treasurer deposits all money into his hands daily in the American Exchange National Bank in the name of the Supreme Link Golden Chain of the World.
When money is to be drawn from the bank, a Golden Chain of the World's check is drawn by the Supreme Secretary, but before the bank will honor this check four men must sign it—S. S. S. S. A. S. T. and S. K.
We are the only Colored lodge in Texas that has an auditing department that audits the books daily. That's us.
Our lodges must look well after our sick.
Join us today—make yourself financial today by paying $1.40—die within ten minutes thereafter you have left your family about $423 to $500. Why? Because we are not a fraternal, but a benevolent order—we don't give policies, but a membership certificate. That's us.
The Chain sets aside thirty days each year to help charity in a financial way. The Chain sets aside thirty days each year to help orphans in a financial way. Our handsome office of four rooms is located at 2549 Elm Street, Rooms 208-10, Dallas, Texas. Our phones are X 1302 and X 4807.
This space belongs to The Golden Chain of The World. You need not talk, because we shall put in it just what we please. You need not get mad about the steady growth of The Chain, and "sass" us; and make eyes at us—just look and see who we are—then too—look what The Chain does.

DO NOT TRIFLE WITH YOUR KIDNEYS
For years and years a remedy has been sought that would eliminate the root of kidney trouble and restore the stomach to its normal functions
After a great number of efforts the Fowler Chemical Company, of Dallas, Texas, has placed before kidney and stomach sufferers a liquid solution called Fowler's 10 Drops, so called because you take only 10 Drops at a dose. "Your husband does not love you—why should you love him?" What did this lonely, unhappy, neglected wife do? Did she rebuke him for his daring—or did she succeed? Was true. To dream of flowers signifies future force. Of holding, seeing or smelling them in season means pleasure, but if out of season, obstacles and luck of success, the flowers will be less; if yellow, they will be painful, and if red, they foretell the dreamer’s serious illness. If you dream of flowers, a short happiness is coming to you. If you dream of buying them you will hear some good news—Chicago Amer

MODELED ON HUMAN FRAME
Efficiency Experts Have Taken That as copy for the Rules they Advocate.
The human frame is 100 per cent efficient, according to the latest dictum of efficiency experts pronounced before the American Society of Industrial Engineers. The New York Evening Sun. Some of the hutty have been suspecting that for years, but the promoters of new buildings are so sure of it now that they are modeling organization plans with physicians as their advisers.
Most of the layouts prepared for the hutty are for the average man for little to the average man. What with their pendant brackets and connecting curves the structure of a thousand man plants gives pause even to the architect. It is shown that the schemes which have worked the best are after all as old as the human race, for they are simply arrangements such as may be used.
The brain, for instance, as explained by C. E. Knopeel, who has the chain of factory management at New York University, is the brain of industrial experts, is the same as the executive head or the director of a plant or corporation. The five senses which keep mankind in his bearings correspond to the control of the face is to superintend and foresee. The medulla oblongata corresponds to labor, and the small brain or cerebellum which looks after the autoimmune disease is the arms and legs and trunk active, is translated in terms of production. The relations of the chart for the manufactory and those of the perfectly interacting machinery of the heart and brain are regulated as virtually the same.
FORGOT HER AWFUL 'MAKEUP'
Indianapolis Girl Will Have to Do Much Explaining If Many Acquaintances Saw Her.
A senior of Technical high school who prides herself on her contempt for rouge and lip sticks to wear to the photographer's. Several classmates protested against the use of "paint" just before posing, thinking the pictures would be better. Finally, they persuaded the senior to try it just for the one time. No one was willing to do it, she applied the crimson puff and the oily crimson stick and dashed into the studio for the final pose.
Half an hour later she was on the court and she happened to glance at the woman across the aisle. That woman's complexion, she thought was past forgiveness. How could people hear to use her face? She was a public! Well, one thing was certain—nobody would ever see her rivaling an October sunset. Then horrors! She remembered she had forgot to wash her own "makeup"—Indianapolis News.

THEIR LUCKY DAY
THEIR LUCKY DAY
How Members of Camping Party Found a Cook.
Finding of Manna in the Wilderness or Getting Water from Rock Would Not Have Been Wonderful After That Experience.
It might seem reasonable to believe that in the wilderness the troubles and trials caused by cooking or the want of water are not limited, but according to Mrs. Mary Roberts Rinkshaw such is not the case. So essential a place in the routine of a chef is that you can expect that trouble with that important personage is a dire calamity. In "Tearing Tonight" Mrs. Rinkshaw describes the nerve-racking experience of trying to hold of an unstable cook. At the end of the second day, she says, we were well away from even that remote part of civilization from which we had started, and a terrible fact was dawning on us. The cook
Now, the center of a camping trip is the cook. He has the hardest job that I know of. He cooks with inexperienced people, the open, where the air blows the smoke into his face and climbs into his food. Worse than that, he must have a hungry crowd of guides and packers that sit in a circle and watches him, and urges him, and gets under his feet. He is the first up in the hill to dry his hands on anything that comes handy, and then pack all his "grub" on an unleashed horse and go to the camp. So knowing all this, and also that we were about a thousand miles from the nearest employment office and several days hard hard into a set of camps, we trained him. We pried his specialties. We gave him a college lad, turned guide for "summer, to assist him. We gathered up our own dishes. But gloomy days later we arrived. A few days later the climax came. One afternoon we found a ranger's cando and rode into its enclosure and we were very hungry. We had gone long miles through the thick and silent forest, and we now wanted food. We sat in a crib on the ground
At last the chuck wagon drove in. We stood up and gave a humble cheer, and then—Bill was gone! Some inks were on his back, and then he sat on his back, and started toward civilization on foot. We stared blankly at the teamster. "Well, we said, "what did he say?" "All the men were so 'Long'?" and the teamster. And that was all there to it. There we were in the wilderness, far from a cook. We were in the inched out of tins. When we spoke it was to impose horrible punishments on the defaucing cook. In silence we finished our luncheon; in silence, mounted our chairs. In shack and hoppy silence we rode the trail, and every moment further from cooks and hotels and tables d'hote. At last in a clearing we saw a man sitting quite beside the trail. We measured him, and "Do you know of any place where we can find a cook?"
And this man, who had dropped from heaven replied: "I am not a man." So we put him on our extra caddie horse and took him with us. He cooked for us with might and night, dawn and night, until the trip was over.
There Are Many of Them
An old woman from Sullivan county came to a recent convention held at Indianapolis. Now, never before she had a very strange idea of conventions—such as to as to think that they were made of banquets, parties, etc. But this woman had lectures, lectures, lectures, lectures, lectures, lectures, and the old lady did not it at all. At it, she went back to her hotel, weary, disappointed and hungry. She saw another delegate and began to talk to her of the banquets she had not liked this, she said emphatically, "and, more than that, I know the Indianapolis convention womans—"Indianapolis women.
