Wright, Republican committeeman of the Second Ward, and a member of the Illinois Com- sion of the American State, he attended the intervention of Federal authorities which embodied the de- pensation of the state to superintend the voting at the recent primaries. While Mr. Wright, welcomed this decision, and the question uppermost with the mind of the commissioner as a question of the State, he was disfranchised. Mr. Wright, a state, and national politics, was not recognized as a vice president as he was employed. He was considered as an 组织 member, and the government was not as a member of the State. He is a prominent member of the prominent members of Mr. Henry Tatell Brown, chairman of the American Friends Service Committee, very interestingly told of the purpose of the meeting and introduced the principal speaker of the oxen-ing, Miss Sannie H. Burroughs, President of the National Training School for Women and Girls, Washington, D.C. Miss Burroughs referred to the occasion as a must-glorious one but urged her hearers not to think of the Negro as a problem. "The Negro," said Miss Burroughs, "he is not a problem, unless you think of him in an old or ag unfate sense. As a rule there are only three ways to look at a problem: you try to work it; you do not want to work it; or you do not like it." She made the audience laugh when she said that a lot of people like to work the Negro, but she does not like to be worked. She referred to Ameriel as being more than a woman than a woman, and said, as it were, "It was in this country unless he for her was well-being to live up to the American people—the ideals on which it was founded. There will be no restorative cause in America," said she, "until Mrs. Hortouche excited much laughter when she said, "What the Nero wants is not a change of color, but he does want a chance to learn, and to earn, and that if this country unless he or she were will-be, the burden of the smothered group, these people must have more and more an opportunity to manag-eate in the building, up of our great country. I believe must be put in id for continued Miss Burroughs, "one preludes to smear-one, "one preludes to need a continuation of meetings of the best and best, and that is only the understanding each other can have, and success in social life can be made to feel that he is a Nero, or that he has a Nero, he is initially infected. The Dallas Express Tushegeo Institute, Asia, April 26-The seventh annual meeting of the Commission on Interracial Cooperation, which was held here last week, was the most numerous attention in the history of the movement, and, in the opinion of many, the East Seventy-five members of the Commission and staff were present from all parts of the south, besides more than a hundred visitors and members of the Tushegeo Institute. The Commission was especially crafted with the widespread anti-racial campaign, as evidenced by the uplift of public sentiment in the Municipal, the cessation of lymblings in Texas, the growing determination of sheriffs to protect note, interest, accepted interest on it and the 10 per cent collection fee and that the property should be sold at the price of the highest bidder and the full claim of The Pythians and the first. Odd Fellows Must Buy Building or Face Original Note Loss Plus Court Cost In order to protect their second then note, it seems necessary now for The Odd Fellows to buy in this building at a price which will pay the Pythians in full for their challenge, casual calculation indicates that this amount must be in the neighborhood of $20,000 and we, according to advice received from supporters in Houston, the building is worth hardly $15,000. The expenditure of an addition of $20,000, by the Odd Fellows in each a transaction would bring the total amount of their efficiency to the membership of that order and to nearly $50,000, counting in the cost of the court procedure. Though the case involved an approximately 25,000 of the cases of the order, it is reported that when this case was called and tried in court, there was not a single one of them. The case was tried in Houston, the place at which the home office of that order is located. It is reported that the order was represented by a firm of white-liars and by a Mr. McGrath described as the same state official in the same order. The case was based on a year--year实的 the members of the order that the accordance of the order involved would entail no less to the order of its fund. The decision in the case gives evidence of the misunilprension under which even he labored. D. JONES APPPOINTED ORGANIZER FOR BROTHERHOOD OF SLEEPING CAR PORTERS LAUNCHES STATE- New York, N. V., April 24- To Whom, N. May Concern. This is to certify that the bearer, Mr. F., is a duly authorized officer of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porter, and is located with the authority to solicit and receive membership fees, monthly dues and collections in meetings for the Brotherhood. It is herewill requested that the consideration and respect be carried out by the official position. Respectfully yours. A. PHILIP BANDOLPH Dear Sir, I am writing to you to express my deepest respect and admiration for your work. Your dedication and commitment to excellence are truly inspiring. I am confident that you will continue to make a significant contribution to the field of music. I am also grateful for your support and guidance. I will be grateful to you for your time and expertise. I will be happy to hear from you again. To the Pulman Porter and and the Office of Texas; Just a word of introduction: I am the General Organizer of the brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porter, wish briefly to state to you the same and purposes. To begin with, I say that the organization was founded August 26th, 1945 in New York City. It came about as a result of the failure of the Employee Representation Plan, satisfactorily to adjust the differences of the posters. By the Employee Representation Plan, I mean a system of commissions, on two of which the posters and the management have five representatives, each. The committee of final report on the Industrial Relations Board has only members of the company represented on it. On the committee of the company, who have the power to direct a poster. For example, an assistant superintendent who has discharged a poster has the right under the Plan to set in the committee and when the proposed poster comes up, to vote and approve against the poster. Most of the poster-members, of the committee, have that they can not do anything for an agreed形式. If they attempt to right for a poster, they, the porter committees, will get into bad graves with the local management who will ride them until their lives are worse than a dog's. Moreover, in most cases, even before a worker can take his case to the surveillance committee, he must request a grievance. But, from the verybeginner, who has discharged him, in other words, the subresidents have the right to say, whether a worker has a relevance or not. Many a worker has been framed up by some, considered official and discredited, and has been consistently refused a blank on which to present his care to the grievance committee. While he is the official who is concerned him, it didn't feel that he had no relevance. Of course, this is a very certain, but of the whole, he was originated and is controlled by, and for the Company. An official will not reverse him. In the circumstances, the judgement would be considered unreliable by the company and he himself would be forced. In matters of civic justice there should be more toleration, but that there should be absolutely no difference. "It is not the bottom of the thinking of the white man and if he felt that there would be no difference, it would be the same as the difference of the Thirze that now seems the Negro." "It is unfeturnate for Mr. Stoddard to not know the actual conditions under which the Negro lives nor does he seem to understand the actual state of the country. He is not a self-intermarriage theory which he no readily compounds is a thing which neither the law of the nation can be applied to, but he can by any means regulate." Where would there have been an understanding that this should not be and it was not made. With the same理论, the same theory made." "Mr. Stoddard seems not to realize that marriage is a man made convention which gives the black people the right to be sanctioned of society to the relationship of men with women from which families are formed and are held together by the built it is not the law so much that counts as that the law represents the codification." Germany Hearts United States With A Cursia Iod Antenars Instances of 'fresh radio reception are constant being reported, but this one seems a little more "freakier" than most of the others: Hans Reinhauser, a citizen of Munich, Germany, reports the frequent reception of the United States WJZ of New York. Mr Reinhauser sees no ground connection for this record-breaking reception. He employs an iron curtain rod for an antenna and a single tube in his receiver. He reports clear and steady reception on the headphone, although he limited knowledge of the English language, and the rapid speaking of the WJZ announcer makes it hard for him to understand well. This unusual reception takes place in the heart of the large city of Munich, where the receiver is surrounded by a veritable sea of film, reafo. If this is the sort of reception which is obtained with such poor equipment and location, what might one expect with a good American Neutrodyne under the same conditions. Thus, A considerable part of the vegetable 旬 consists of, un-absorbable inglet which is never digested or assimilated and pass un留入 into the bowel. Here it adds bulk to the residue and acts as a vehicle for the elimination of toxic material in. In the role it serves a very useful purpose, an one of the main causes people are constituted that there is nothing in the bathroom itself, and not one inglet. All four persons can eat all vegetable, and they can eat as well as any little idiosyncrasies to have our life. Some people suffer with a violent attack of an epidemic if they put a piece of food on a large as a piece, while others have a small piece of food, but they do not eat a few. Some people have a beautiful case of "three-from-a-few" strawberries while they consume but a little while their food is white, with danger except to get caught doing it. And so on throughout the entire diet. "It's "what's one" man's food is another man's poison." Every one is good, by the time they have a good diet, they have quite definitely made up their mind so to what vegetables do and which do not agree with him. He should even regulate his diet so that they have a good diet. But what most people are at the bottom is to keep a certain shape into it to the brower's disdain of vegetables. Here are some good rules for cooking vegetables that I believe are well-known in the country: (1) Wash thoroughly. (2) Paid, or accession to kind. (3) Let stand in cold water until ready to cook, to keep them school to all the certificate privacy and will always turn to enter large institutions of the North. Nora McCormick and her father, the white school children of Alabama, have been treated unfairly and have been denied the education they deserve. School tubs go, is divided to provide education for Negro children. Col. Ellis S. Sullivan, the state, in an article published on his views, makes the equalization of education, makes the equalization of place in his platform. He "Another crying need for equality is in educational opportunities for every white child in the state. We are counting Negro children against our white children dividing: the school money. This must stop. The educational survey made in the Kilby administration shows that in five typical white counties the amount expended for teachers' salaries for each white school enrolled is no average of $12 per year, while in five typical black belt counties the amount expended for the teachers' salaries for each white child enrolled is an average of $22,34 per year. About one-fifth of our rural white schools run less than five months a year, all of them are across 1200 days a year. The Negro public schools in our black belt cities and in some of our industrial cities run 5 months a year. This talking of white tax money is developed for effective these white children to give sunrise educational advantage. These Negroes, thus algorithmically them with Alabama and hastening them north more than when I am never to the will stop. For years I have fought hard to stop it. The first candidate goes on to win the Republican nomination for New Jersey, proposing for New Education. But he defeats his opponent in the primary, winning all figured out to stop this election. STANDARD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY ON TOP! It is indeed gratifying to announce to the thousands of policy holders and to the public generally, the financial condition of the STANDARD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, WITH HEADQUARTERS AT ATLANTA, GA. In January, 1923, the Standard Life Insurance Company, passed from Napa ownership to the Southern Insurance Company of Tennessee in settlement of obligations which the company could not meet, with no surplus and no reserve behind the policies impaired. As a result of the insufficiency of the company, it surrendered its charter and the Southern Insurance Company of Tennessee absorbed its businesses and the Standard Life pole of the loss. It lost its identity in the great volume of the Southern's. One year later it was found that the company had back good and strong with all its assets. It was then acquired by a legal protection and a policy holder of $82,970,046.00. In one year under the wise and economic management of Mr. Harris and his associate, a deficit of a half million had been converted into surplus of guile a quarter of a million. The Standard Life Insurance Company of Arkansas took up the proposition with the proviso that it would reaffirm the business of the company to Negroes at any time within ten years. The company is now in the best position and the Standard Life Insurance Company is in better condition now than it has ever been both from the standpoint of the stockholders and the policy holders. The surplus to both the stockholders and the policy holders is larger than if it has ever been since its organization in 1913. The policy holder has nothing to fear. Just at 9:30 and watch your investment grow. The financial condition of the Company is the best ever and the personnel of the Company are the best. AND THE NECESSARY LEGAL RESERVE. ST. JAMES A. M. E. TEMPLE NOTES Sunday was a great day for Mr. James Temple—the Sunday school campaign reached its largest attendance. 149. The men's bible class, taught by Mr. Wm. Terrell, and the special Bible class taught by Miss. I-a-a- it. Wm. declare that the ladie Bible Class of which Mrs. C. W. Abington is teacher, shall not carry off the honors this quarter and are laying plans to give that class trouble both from the point of attendance and collection. Truly the right is in. This class has lead everything in the Sunday School since his or-ganisation some years ago, and says it plays to retain that leadership. The morning service was excellent—the Choral club furnished inspiring music, while Rev. Fred Williams preached a noble sermon to the young people, from the theme, "Going about, doing good." At night the Choral Club gave the monthly sacred musical. The program was excellent. The young people have a wonderful group of students. They plan to render a high grade concept in the near-future. St. James is now turning attention toward the celebration of the fifth anniversary—which will be the largest effort ever put forth by the church in his history. The first day of the church of the most active factors in the church—it is now planning a Neway Wedding which promises to be a new, elaborate affair—it is to take place in the church Thursday night May 4th.
