THE PULLMAN QUESTION IN THE U. S. CONGRESS
There may be those who see in purpose of the PULLMAN Congress an investigation, the wage controversy of the PULLMAN Company with Mr. Callahan, the congressional votes in the Northern states. Probably their vision is clear; probably not, but an investigation could do little to the porters who for so long have been viewed on the matter and concerned with which dispute there has been, months after months, it will be remembered that the first which waked hitter-for-five months between those who made a complaint into a lawsuit and those who would have favored the Employee Retirement Plan, the company was practically terminated by an agreement which the employees of the company were practically on the company, but in which, all of the representatives of the porters did not愈
fact that though the company has no commodity other than warehouses, it has with a capitalization of only $23.2 million and without the addition of $25.0 million, it has $145,000,000 and its dividends in stock and cash have amounted to $100,000,000. The repulsion, Geller states, that "Pulman porters have received the Pulman Company but from the Pulman Company but from the porters that 'every attempt of the porters to organize has met with an avalanche' of Pulman porters." The pulman publications have been sub-divided; Nekro porters have been sub-divided; South have been bribed to propagate disgrace against the man.

If the appellation demands that the votes, but there is much of information designation demands, be unfairly that an official investigation would bring to light, and if the appellation demands that the fairness to its employees are justifiable, a little offer from

**Making A - Breakfast Menu**
If you have a good-lined kitchen, a small space in which to work—maybe a part of it, or a part of your kitchen—is a part of your breakfast menu. There is a large pantery connected to the kitchen, removed and -loved up as the Birthday menu -removed and -loved up as the breakfast purposes are. The cook uses the pantery for breakfast purposes and tables. Point Cheen attaches a table to the pantery to cook and add new curtains to, and add new curtains to, the kitchen.

ST.JAMES A.M.E.CHURCH FLORENCE AND GOOD STREETS, MAKES EXTENSIVE PLANS TO CELEBRATE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY AND GOLDEN REDEMPTION JUBILEE
St. James A. M. E. Church was organized in the Spring of 1876 by the Rev. W. R. Carron, in what was then called the "Melville" under a brash airborne net from the site of the present church. The building was completed in 1880 and was only one member of the Church who was present and assisted in the organization. Mother Hattie Orrie, wife of Rev. w. e. we know. She has passed her three score and ten, and yet she is active. She was a member of the Church for many years. She was a faithful member of Class No. 1, in the Sunday School and is generally in her place, and is known at church and prayer群. She was the full share of the financial affairs of the church. She was a member of the worship at the corner of Young and Evergreen Streets which was later replaced with a larger and better frame building. At Palma'srew a brick building was started and finally reached the point where the church would be a place of worship. The superstructure was finally built by Dr. R. E. Jeekin, who is at present the presiding elder of the Palma'srew District. Before the building was ever completely finished the property was sold to Dr. R. E. Jeekin, and the building was sold to Dr. W. R. Carron, living; Dr. R. Bryant, dead; A. P. Jacken, dead; E. J. Edwards, living; P. G. Hair, living; H. L. Zyrppel, dead; J. W. Millard, dead; J. E. Holmes, dead; W. J. Law, dead; M. A. Wright, dead; A. Gordon, dead; W. H. Young, dead; G. B. Young, living; J. T. S. White, dead; J. E. Edwards, living; J. P. Millard, living; G. W. Atkinson, dead; St. James A. M. E. Church was the first church to present in the ninth year of his pastorate. In constructing the building he had in mind, the waste intended to the repair of church buildings every few years, not only on the congregation but on the grounds of the church.
This history making occasion will open Sunday morning, May 9th, with a special prayer and praise service at 5:20. At 9:10 Sunday School Jubilee rally. At 11 a. m.
The program on this night will be made up of the medical profession, trained nurses and the families of the profession. We must not say that much of the experience will be in evidence of the success of the program. The program will be in evidence of residential citizenship. Fifty years ago Dallas did not have a Colored doctor — but it is now well represented in every line of the medical profession. The program is in the hands of the Women's College of Medicine. The program is in the hands of the President. The Indians will draw from every branch of the profession. They say this must be the outstanding sight of the series. Efforts will be made to have every member of the profession represented on that night. To assure the complete success of this night the responsibility has been assigned to the Ministerial Alliance Night. It will be most interesting to the public to know the real advance that has been made in the course of years in the ministerial profession, both as related to the ministerial duties and as related to the ministerial responsibilities. It is the plan of the management to have every church in Dallas of our race represented on that night. To assure the complete success of this night the responsibility has been assigned to the Ministerial Alliance Wilson. He says that minister night must excel. WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MAY 19TH. MT. PIGAR RAPTET CHURCH NIGHT, FORT WORTH. The great great great church and one of the outstanding leaders of the race and Church is to be present. The church will remain music and the Mt. Pigar is noted for doing big songs and surely this will be a Mtg night. With Dr. Prince and his players and is to come one of the most noted and public spirit of churches in the nation. The minister will be fitting for the tribute of racial progress. Watch this night. Five men in the nation is better fitted to tell of this progress than Mr. McDonald. WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MAY 20TH. Public School Teachers Night. In nothing has it progress been more substantial in our racial life in Dallas as in that of education. Fifty years ago the race in this city was practically one hundred percent illiterate, without the erudest makehift of a school house — the first school in Dallas. The first school in Dallas was 21 teachers. 660 students, its efficiency is told in the fact, that to be competent to help a student there must hold a degree from a recognized college. We have 8 elementary schools with 103 students. 423,424. This system is operated at a cost of $112,963.
Thousands of our people have never seen the teachers of our children, come on this night and teach us. The program will be in charge of Mrs. Lela Taurasi, assisted by Mrs. J. C. Fraser and others. FRIEDAY NIGHT, MAY 29TH — BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL. No entertainment; would be complete without the children — we shall have the teachers and how we are going to turn thither over to the children, that we in this way may see the product of our numbers. Numbers will be furnished from every school in the system. We will be an integrating teacher. We will be a teacher of the children.

Sunday Night, MAY 10TH

SATURDAY NIGHT, MAY 25TH.
No program will be rendered on this night, but the social side of the enteral nausea will be at its best. The nausea will close at 10:30.
SUNDAY, MAY 25TH.
This will mark the hite tide of the struggle to redeem St. James Johnson W. D. Johnson is invited to the conference on that day and it may be fiddled said that we have saved the host in the process. The conference will be made public. The coming of Bishop Johnson will be a fitting climax to the anniversary celebration while it will at the same time lend the necessary encouragement.
On this night the Elko School Glee Club of Alabama is to be the entertainer for—that night. This famous group of orphan children which wins up the community with enthusiasm where they have to have a party for the next anniversary. Prof. Howard is to put on a program entirely new that night and we may present it. This entertainment will close our effort. It will be necessary to come early to get a seat every night, but you will have to come extra early on the closing night.
The admission to each of the entertainments will be 50c for adults and 10c for children. A season ticket for $1.50, which will be good for the entire entertainment. On the last night when the Elko School Clerk renders its program a single admission will be 50c for seats. But all persons holding a season ticket will be admitted anywhere on their ticket, on the closing night as on other nights. Purchase a season ticket and help redeem Saint James.
Persons making contributions to this effort are asked to make all checks and drafts payable to Saint James A. M. E. Clifureb, 620 Good Street, Dallas, Texas. Any one desiring information regarding the plan for the Memorial Slab, or other conditions may ring H 6704, the Pastor will be pleased to give you such information by phone or in person.
