CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
Texas has arrived and Chicago know it without a doubt. From the most recent of the most mental of the bellboys of the palatial hotel Tremont corner of Oakwood and Grand Avenue, and christened by the Texas man through the advance guard commander C. F. Richardson, Dr. A. J. Jackson and Editor Ritchie, received fourteen rooms facing Grand Bootwell.
Newsletter Special Representatives to Delegates
The Texas man and the city early Friday, morning, after spending a day in St. Louis at the Grand Bootwell and at once bound a round of the available hotels for reservation for the seasonal delegation which paused on the morning of the day. This accomplished a round of visits to the offices of the Chicago Delegation, the Harper Manager together with the Harper Manager together with the Moleman and the famous Perry interview interested in the Texas and their mission. On Sunday morning as soon as the delegation arrived in Chicago, the Harper Manager interviewed with the Grand Council of the largest Python community followed him and all, indications point to the greatest amount of interest received on such an agonization.
The special staff photographer of the Defender came over on Monday to discuss the whole delegation before it is sent for the work of the day. The huge sign which hangs over the midweek preaching in tel. town that place in the "Firmquarters of the Pope's Defender"—Come to see the sign that traced a great deal of attention. The sign is twenty feet long and is a large, colorful sign.

WISH to thank the Pulpit, the Press, and the Public for your unselfish support given me in the recent crisis through which PORO COLLEGE has passed.
No less do I wish to express my appreciation for the many messages of interest and sympathy which have come to me; for the tender spoken word; and for the prayers of the faithful that an institution dedicated to my race might stand untouched.
And I am grateful for the unprecedented demonstration of racial solidarity presented.
Your friendly interest, loyalty, and prayers during the recent upheaval have lightened, more than any other agency could, have lightened, the way to bigger endeavor.
In recognition whereof, I dedicate to my people, PORO COLLEGE, and reconsecrate it to the loving service of Negro Womanhood.

As has generally been the case, the programs got off to a bad start and speakers with constructive messages were forced to forego the prepared speeches which they had hoped to deliver or they were forced to attempt to cut them short to fit the very short time allowance given them. And too, there was a noticeable tendency to allow speakers of the report to stay in the time limit, others were forced to stay within the time limit. An instance in proof of that statement is found in the limiting of the report of B. M.-Roddy, only field representative which the league has had this year, to ten minutes while another speaker, talking bout them in particular but "the faith of the fathers" was allowed to usurp a whole half hour.
THE DALLAS EXPRESS has never hosted the white leather, matter that it has been called, grunt. It is not affirmed with the flamed leather. It is a plain, every day, sesame, mon. crime no self to catch the pasting breasts; flies no doubtful flags. It professes the country. Its law of even hand fiction covers all the territory occupied by the human ground, but we live on it and are protesting. Hone of the press come up and spend with this. This ground spreads. W. KING.
That this condition was not unnoticed by the lay members was indicated by comments to the effect that "many of the members of the executive committee of the national league do not even help to maintain local leagues in their own cities. And those who visited the league for the first time were free in their statements - to the effect that "there was little business like procedure in the league. Certainly it will be literally true that the S.S. meeting
We Still Need Policemen
---
The Express notes that in the recently published budget which had to do with the welfare department and the police departments, that provision made to the police is wondered or not, the politicians of the group who have so been active since the inception of the police department have the connections necessary to make good their promises, often re-stated, to the effect that save police policemen would be appointed.

And too, any failure now to full comprehend the expectations of national organizations they are encouraging them to come south as often as circumstances will permit. And those who argue that they tend to weaken the faith in national organizations have decided proof in favor of their contentions.
The general public expects that these promises will be made good in the meantime, but the measures of these politicians were tested upon assurance, which they did not accept, during the campaign. And too, any failure now to full completely the proscriptions that they tend to weaken the faith in those politically incited groups, will spur up spouses during election time and directly by their very presence during election time, the general welfare of the group.

CONVENTION
THERE HAS been much speculation in all parts of America since the President from his vacation headquarters spoke those sphinx like words "I do not choose to be a candidate." Reams of copy have been turned off by enterprising reporters and political ayanats from all parts of this country have attempted to interpret their meaning. Some claim that he has flatly refused to be drafted for service to the Republican party for another term. Others feel that the president should have been drafted, except a nomination should be drafted by the leaders of his party in the coming convention.

From the standoff point of real leadership and outstanding statesmanship. The Express cannot see that there is any reason to hope that President Coolidge will stay in the White House, but he will not. The sequences which might arise from his absolute refusal to run again for the highest office in the American nation. But it does realize that President Coolidge is the most astute politician who has ever occupied the White House and has been the most effective president in accepting a nomination at the hands of his party. And the sentence which he spoke or caused to be issued over his signature, to this journal, simply means that he has chosen the most likely method of passing the responsibility for his running for another term to the shoulders of the leaders of the party.

THE NATIONAL NEGRO BUSINESS LEAGUE IS STILL IN THE RUT
