KING DALLAS HAS had no really desirable Negro additions opened since 1925 close enough to the city to afford easy travel up and from work or, if such districts have been opened up, they have been bought up by those who were able to do so and the increase in Negro population from other cities has sufficed to take the place of those who purchased in such districts. There has been no provision for the expansion of Negroes recently despite the fact that facts shown in 1925 by the housing survey conducted then indicated that such a thing was badly needed. Now that the question is around so much attention, The Express feels that it is not amiss to reiterate some of the facts disclosed by that survey. And in the light of the fact that Negroes very often pay more than ordinary prices for homes which have only the modern conveniences to offer these facts are all the more significant. This survey disclosed the fact that 65 per cent of all of the houses survived but neither bath, water or toilet in the house; 50 More Training For Business Needed Mary Face is responsible for the bringing to light of the fact that the first depositor in the first Nigerian bank was Negro. His article, recently published in The Savings Bank Journal, Harry Pace is responsible for the bringing to light of the facts that the first deputator in the first case was a black man, not a white man, and that no one per cent of them had no secure connections to the toilets. 7.7 of them had no sidewalks. 88.4 had no paving and 67.7 per cent of the homes were practically isolated from church and school in wet weather. More than half of the homes were adjudged precisely unfit for habitation and 70 per cent of them had less than five rooms. It was found further that they had no opportunity to practically unfit for habitation as well, as the monthly payments on homes with all of the conveniences. THE DALZAS EXPRESS, DALZAS, TEXAS, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1967 FLAPPER TRIUMPH (?) ANOTHER VIEW OF THE QUESTION Mr. Drusilla Dunjee Houston (For ANP). THE QUESTION of the punishment of those who violate the segregation ordinance is now up before the courts and punishment by the city officials under the new ordinance has been suspended pending the decision of these tribunals. As the case now stands, if the contentions of the city are upheld, only the Negroes who purchased or are renting the property in question will suffer the penalties. But the question arises, as to who are the real violators of the law. Daisy, painted, and perfumed talks along to Mr. grue- sion. He asks for a Grant stirs it and mannares crude, and turned much of hidden charm into open vignettes to admire, then trains it. The queen of the wild wizards rais- es. The Pipper has won favor; Yet men pauce and waves, After she has given all, After she has given all, After she has given all, He grants the queen of style Marriage that is Trial. Youth is flashing, all seem well, In drooping eyes she tell, After she shall still be picked Whether she in life's storms will Wretch her Nansless child. There is ample proof of the fact that Negroes, with much to lose and little to gain by attempting to override the general spirit of any community or city, have not tried to intrude into places where their safety and that of their property, was in jeopardy. They prefer rather to eke out their existence, at a bear rather miserable one, in whatever peace and safety is to be found. When they purchase property, it is done at the expense of much sacrifice and deprivation. Because of the limited recompense which they revise for their诉, their savings are meager and the accumulation of a home often comes only after many years of saving and sacrifice. It would not seem reasonable then, to assume that such a poverty stricken class would do otherwise than seek safety of property and life along with such comforts of home as they were able to obtain with their small savings. "DANDY LINES" With a clear sky, a bright sun and a gentle breeze, you will have friends in plenty; but let tortoise frown, and the firmament be over you. You prove like the strings of the lion of which you will tinkle ten-ten, but you find, one that will stretch the stretch and keep the pitch It is also true that they are ignorant of such property agreements as have bound the property in question and those who have approached them with offers to sell and to rent have not taken the time or trouble to warn them of the dangers of purchase or habitation in such neighborhoods. There are cases on record in this very city in which this been true and families which have not been able to afford such a loss, have been forced to suffer it because, unwittingly, they purchased property on which they could not live and which, because of the fact that the race of the owner was known, they could not rent. A man is what he is, not he. man is what he is. in 1983 character man is what he is. in 1983 character what he is before his God and his judes, and only himself can dame him. man is what he is. that he is. That can be damage but reputation is for him, charm Is it not true then, that those who buy unwittingly or who rent without a knowledge of the agreements which bind such property are not the real violators of such agreements? Does it not rather, seem that those who sell to them or who rent to them are the really guilty parties? And if they are, should whatever penalties are to be inflicted not be shared by them?
