Secretary Hoover has investigated the claims of the Negro committee which has been studying the situation among their own people in the flood stricken areas and found that there is truth in the statements to the effect that Negro are not receiving the sort of aid from the Red Cross to which they are entitled. "They have been returned to the plantations against their wills to suffer for many more years the ills of peonage. And they have been forced into these conditions by the very persons who should have been the agents of freedom and release from such condition. Red Cross agents have actually helped the practices of Mississippi and the Delta region and the soldiers of the United States government have not been remiss in doing their share.

But that condition is no longer to exist. This committee of Negroes has told the whole truth and Secretary Hower has checked up on their reports to the extent that he has made arrangement for the appointment of Negro Red Cross workers to match white workers and thus prevent the continuance of the sort of conditions that have marked the conduct of the refugee camps since the disastrous flood of the summer.
There may be those who will feel that in this step on the part of Mr. Hower there are evidences of political ambitions and that these appointments will lead to a corralling situation. Negroes who have been sent will entertain no such notions. They will see in the provision a step which is evidence of nothing more than the courage of a conviction and a desire, that the greatest agency for the relief of suffering shall not have its reputation amurred by the operations of a prejudice mad horde.

Pride in the reputation of the state of our nativity will prompt all of us to rejoice that for the first time in the history of the Democratic Party, it has decided to hold its national convention in a southern city. And that city is in Texas. But we cannot escape nor altogether get over the surprise that comes with such an announcement in view of the very unusually tense situation which exists within that party over the selection of a candidate for the presidency. The governor will share the ticket with him as candidate for with his ambitions and it has even been rumored that our the strongest contender for the honor, must enter the south the vice-presidency.
THE DALLAS EXPRESS has never hated the white rushing, mother use of the yellow streak. It is not afflicted with the flannel mouth. It is a main, every day issue, which trims so call to match the passenger breez, flies to the passenger seat, which country is as broad as not country. Its life of even hand noted nation is as broad as not country on the human race. This is greatly high ground over the poor, not over the boys of the press come up and stand with us. This ground is being WIDE KING.
Negro Policemen—What About Them?
The news cannot escape the feeling that either the claims of some of our politicians during the campaign were false or that they are now rumors in their duties to their people and to the city of Delaware in general when the election for the office of the attorney general to shrink. Negro police or fail to state that the city officials themselves have gone back on their promises. It will be remembered that this was one of the most important arguments of those members of our race who were the representatives of the winning ticket and they stressed that many police officers had been proclaimed, since the defeat of the opponent, of the difficult even to hear of the messages of the Walters board and he mention is ever made of the unfortified promises to the same people.
The Express does not forget. Neither is it witting that the general public should be in an ignorance
case of. Niger policemen. The case is as stated. Either the officials themselves have never prosecuted the "politician" to press their claims but let the authorities be not wanted; or they have never made such a promise and there was some exoneration in the claims.
In the light of the very apprehension of this administration in its aggressive war, Newswear are angered. The Scarce is invulnerable to suspicion that it has been renamed in the manner of Bonaparte already scaled. It would learn rather in the direction of banning the automobile petitioning law, not increasing that they had work to do to get the things promised and for going back in stone that they had been taken and taken that position in the full knowledge of the general lenency of the Nielsen "Helllight" whenever an opportunity is offered them and advance to work in be done. It considers a duty indebted upon them to垫肩 to "make sure that work is in be done. The public is entitled to the light."

All of the nation is surprised; and more than that, it is awaiting the outcome with more than the ordinary amount of anxiety. And well may it. GEORGIA STILL MAKES PROGRESS IN RACE RELATIONS
That the state of Georgia is still making strides in its attempt to recover from its barbarisms is prova by the fact that during the past year it did not stage a single lynching and that its newspapers are boasting of the fact. Not only that, recently a committee of its white citizens want to the city commission of Atlanta and requested that those members reconsider their decision to refuse to spend the amount promised during the campaign for a bond issue to the Negroes for their schools.
Of course the day of the Millennium is not at hand nor are we so feel that any misincentious things are yet happening in Georgia. But the fact that a state no fanned for its barbaries to Negroes should have changed in sentiment to the extent that such facts could be recorded concerning the disposition of its citizens is certainly well worthy of mention commendable terms. There can be no doubt but that the work of The Interracial Commission is making itself felt in this regard and due credit should be given for the type of injustice it does. On the light of the most historic of Georgia, it has done marvellously well. There is hope that its influence may spread abroad quickly.
