Disorder Cases in Long Island Segregation Struggle.
New York, Oct. 31 — A letter from Rev. George W. Warren Hinton, of the Corona Congregational Church informs the National Association of Colored People that segregation disorder has come to an end in that Long Island Community where he will remain in her home. The N.A. A. C. P. Commissioner Joseph Warren for protection extended to colored regional assistant, William T. Andrews to the score. Rev. Hinton's letter lowers. N.A. A. C. P. Commissioner Mrs. Oscar H. Nahay asked me to the Association for the deep intolerance he has destined to remain an her home. Practically all the trouble she has destined to remain an her home prevailed now. The white property owners with her and stated to them our feeling in the whole matter. Your letter was very important to that we had your support and that we be an more trouble I thank you very much for your interest and should say more.
Casper Holstein Rebukes Hospital. For Excluding Colored Nurse.
New York, Nov. 1.—Caspar Holstein sent to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, copy of a letter from the Trustees of Presbyterian Hospital protecting against the exclusion of Gladys L. Catchings from a special hospital. Mr. Holstein gave $500 to the Presbyterian Hospital for the medical centre of which he served. In his letter Mr. Holstein wrote: "On the portals of the Presbyterian Hospital which reads: 'Regardless of Race, Color or Color.' It was the institution founded on such a great prince that prompted me to would reflect on my manhood, I feel to a departure from this noble principle to go unadvised." War And yet, he was in no way the blame for the conditions complained of. The blame for those conditions should be placed upon the president, who took advantage of his insanity and exploited him to their advance and his everlasting hurt and injury.
Constituting just about one-fifth of the population, it is hard to conceive to complain or assert that he became so hardened that he cannot factor in the politics of this country. (There are ground for the belief that other succeed that social equality of Norwegian and whiten will be forbidden, and that laws will be broken down, so a thing can never happen to Norway, as it is.)

NEGRO LEADERS CONDEMN RAISING
THE RACIAL ISSUE
MEMBER
NATIONAL NEWS PRESS
ASSOCIATION.
And now at the closet of the campaign the Negroes themselves sign a statement condemning the raising of the racial issue by supporters of the two candidates. They point out the fact that nothing but evil can follow the appeal to prejudice and that lasting ill will come from statements to the effect that no real issue should be decided by Negroes on the same grounds as white citizens of the same country; that any party must make excuses for consideration of its Negroes member if assailed by another party and that there is no reason for the sharing of Negroes in the offices of this country. All of the leading Negroes of the country joined in the signing of the document.
THE DALLAS EXPRESS PUBLISHING CO.,
Notice to the Public
Any arrows reflection upon the character, standing or reputation or any person, firm or corporation which may appear in the columns of THE DALLAS PRESS will be gladly corrected upon it being brought to the attention of the publication.
Time was when the majority of the members of the race in this country really felt that to be given a government position was a mark of distinction conferred on the race. That that time is not no far in the past is to be proven by the continued appeals of those in political leadership who point out these positions as proof that the party then in power did consider their Negro constituents. And there is little reason to feel that that sentiment has altogether gone from the minds of some of the most progressive among us. Such sentiment is easily understood. But that it has been dangerous for our own mental state is not to be doubted. Persecution and proscription have taken their toll of our mental state and it is not to be wondered at that we place too much value on the one or two governmental positions which have come to us and which so much discussion has centered during this campaign. But Negroes will never be really ready to fight for their-faults rights as citizens of this country until they all come to the realization that ANY AND ALL JOBS IN - AMERICAN ARE THE RIGHT AND JUST DUE OF ANY CITIZEN WHO IS FITTED TO ASPIRE TO THEM AND THAT COLOR IS NOT ONE OF THE QUALIFICATIONS.

EVERY SATURDAY MORNING,

Entered at Port Office at Dalton.
Tucker, in second-class mates,
under Act of Congress, March,
1874.
The fact that a candidate or a set of supporters of a candidate take opportunity to explain away the appointment of a Negro to a responsible political position should be taken as a qualification that candidate for the place of leadership which he holds. He should be not only denounced but should be defeated in his further attempts to hold public office in so far as the votes of the race have power to bring this to pass.
HILL REPRESENTATIVE
W. R. ZIP COMPANY.
608 South Dearborn St.
Chicago, IL.
We will never be really free men until we cultivate the feeling of real freedom not only in our children but in ourselves. Particular attention must constantly be paid to our own reactions to such things as this campaign have brought forth. The time is for us to see and understand that ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASSEMBLE WHICH ALL OTHER CITIZENS HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASPIRE. And those men and parties who feel that stigma attaches to their pitifully small recognition of this right have little claim to our continued support.
THE DALLAS EXPRESS
he never hooted the white father, neither has it been drugged by his mother, nor has it been affiliated with the gunmen. month. It is in plain, every day, easy, comfortable, salivary, and easy to catch, the passing breast; files no dangerous flag. It proffes our patriotic duty, and we are living of even hardened justice covers all the harriers occupied by the high security high ground, but we live on all and are propping up the men with arms when gunmen in holy.
Our condemnation of the raising of the racial issue is in place and is timely and if this campaign has not taught us that there is need of so definitely our voting strength as to make it a thing to be more highly respected in this country, we are of all classes of Americans, most unworthy of governmental affairst which we profess to seek earnestly."
THE BACK GATE AT THE WILEY
LANGSTON GAME
Several of our subscribers who travelled from other places to attend the Wiley-Langton game played during the State Fair as well as those who live in Dallas here have pointed out the fact that they and their wives were forced to go to the back gate of the stadium in order to witness the game. They state that it savored of unfair discrimination and had all of the cermarks of segregation in the light of the fact that the expected attendance was mostly women, and that it was not crowded. Several of them indicate that had the crowds swayed they would have understood the situation. But they point out the fact that this was not the case.
W. R. KING.
WHY NOT A LANGSTON
PRAIRIE VIEW GAME
In making such a segregation of in making such a question The Exercises is accused by no one to be an actual clash of Macro colleges draw the largest crowd and contribute most to the development of a better world. The clash is bound by no blue which has to do with the incoming of those from other states and it does not derive to be misunderstood in the
The Express is the only Negro paper in Texas which accepts full responsibility for the sort of invitation which it issues each year in the name of the State Fair officials and last year it pointed out this unfortunate situation to some of those in authority. They stated that in the absence of any special provision on the part of those who had the game directly in charge, the condition had maintained. This year, so far no questions have been asked. But The Express loans to the opinion held by its subcribers and is anxious to know that in time to come, no such condition will maintain. It is unnecessary. It insults the majority of those who are beginning to look upon the annual game as a thing to be commended. It is an affront to the intelligence of the race.
Just it is firmly of the opinion that the sides of good burgundy and large attendance would best be represented by the good ball teams of two of the largest and best known Texas colleges on that day during the State Pat. Pride play, being the state champions, would be the largest group of participants almost in the state is the choice of this publication for participation.
If the officials of the two schools have the park directly in charge on that day they should take pains to have it understood that the majority of the patrons of the game are given the preference in the matter of entrance and seats see to it that no such complaint can be lodged another year. They have to bring from ten to twenty thousand visitors to our campus. They have a right to expect the best in treatment. And while so far there has been nothing aside from this seating and entrance arrangement of which to complain, it is sufficient to mar the consideration of the whole day and detract from the pleasure which, on an occasion like that, should be unallowed. Next year it should be possible for all Negro patrons of the Wiley-Langton game or the game played on day, to enter the stadium through all and of the rates.
The reasons are these; more interest would be manicated in a context of two teams, three teams, or from that interval. There would come a time when the team would be far from desirable. The majority of the voters to the game are exasperated, and that number could be multiplied many fold by the application in school pride which would otherwise do not attend. It would lend spice to the game because it would add to the interest and the atmosphere. And finally it would be both striking for athletic previews in Baldr. home, state, and national competitions and entered into fitness are just a part of the reason. There would be a lot of the reasons that a Wii Playful View game would be appropriate. The Letter from interns supported care of the content would be appropriate to be served. The purpose is to be served.
ELECTION DAY AN OPPORTUNITY.
VOTE FOR HOVER
Before we come off press again the many millions of American voters will have declared their will at the polls. For Negroes of Texas and other southern states that day will 'offer' a large opportunity—for an expression of good judgment and sound reasoning ability. Their welfare is bound up in good jobs and opportunities to continue to make progress in civic ways. To vote for Herbert Hoover and against the Democratic nominee is 'not only sound sense but it is the expression of the instinct of self-preservation as well.' The Republican party with all of its factions is still to be preformed to the Democratic party. His support is out. VOTE FOR HOVER 'AND PROSPERITY'
THE DALLAS EXPRESS, SATLRDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1928
THE PRESIDENCY Vs
HOOVER
In these days, when practically everything you see in print is a catalog, you are better off碧 on the same subject, and hopes in the same direction. Biography, biography, biography, written in the "manuscript" which chances to be published, is certainly refreshing to come across a book that is actually unpopular in method.
All the more remarkable is this exception, to the rule when it is necessary to perfectly practical, not at all above the level of the famous old one, one distance ahead of the solitary traditional软公鸡 commonly speaking and party appeal. Samuel Growther, son of a man who was a master of cricket vs. Moover" is a genius. He has done something new. What is it?
Then at the middle of the book one author changes roles. He goes on to write a book about his life by also with Mr. Hoover. he follows through his previous analysis of the campaign nominees in the present Republican nominees in the present campaign nominees, which he has just (tabled for a capable President little or nothing on conventional talents for political leadership, ambition and courage, the elephant virtues, that never grow with party strategy and masterful hostility, not named among Mr. Crowder's requests nor discovered in his writings.
Mr. Groomer believes in Mr. Crawford as prospective President of the University andamental elemental beings being granted—he is through and through and through engagement in a man who gets things done. He is by first, by assembly all the factors of the problem given and the means given to solve it. He actively working out practicable means of realizing the ends associated with his hectoeth sits in the White House our author believes must be the task of the nation's social and educational system or is an ideal man to begin this destined mentoring succession
The great objective which Mr. Crawther sees looming up before him is the fact that his office is the abolition of poverty in our United States. Progress toward that goal our authors have two administrations—not with any thinkers to the formulas of the government, but by virtue of high-tech efficiency in production and distribution, the major dissemination of ownership.
Mr. Crowther is confident that in two terms President Howard, Hoyer, and the administration in the Department of Commerce, can prove that the state's debt is no empty dream. And he is sure that the same debt notocracy is no empty dream, which led Mr. Hoyer's life religion at the hour of his overthrow in 1876. He was a minister or the Municipalist when hundreds of thousands of our own people rent from the crendae for the abolition of poverty among us as he conceived to rest from it Anywhere short of the mortal end of his
Mr. Hoover is no superman of course, but in the more modern era, he has become a brilliant efficiency with him no more catchword; If at the potent solution of a problem, it pleases to clarify. And that this would win votes for the Republican nominee in the present campaign even if the riders were to believe that there's many other points of plea in favor of the superman client in Mr. Hoover's case.

A BIG REPUBLICAN VOTE
AMONG COLORED WOMEN
IS FORECAST
Washington, D. C., Nov. 3 - If this widespread political activity of the Negro community effect they will have on the way the Negro go in on march on November 15, 2015, they may count on the largest Negro group in the country of filled workers among colored women recently reporting at Republican National. Headquarters.
A majority of those present at this meeting reported the largest number of women they knew; and they all conceded that the largest number of women this unusual interest on the part of women may be ascribed to seven these women who are the political leaders in the first camp. They are known to be taking seriously come from the ranks of the church workers and club workers. They are bringing such seriousness to the same seriousness, the same enthusiasm usually shown in those who are involved in the political workers can be depended on to bring to the polls the women who are the political women voter. Their allegiance is band-wing largely upon the moral will vote for the Republican party, which is supporting their views. According to Dean Kiely Miller of the Women's Rights group, just one issue at stake—prohibition group, women group, little love of tariff or of immigrant knowledge of the benefits of prohibition, and are ready to fight for its continuance. This they will do.
Again, granting that 50 per car of this increase is due to the new-owned interest of the Colonel and the Governor, it will essentially all of these will vote the Republics ticket, the Negroes won, and the result on the result of the campaign.

"AFRO-AMERICAN" DENOUNCES HOQVER AS KLAN ALLE
"If Mr. Hoover is elected, the Negro as a political factor fades. He is no longer staked his future on his ability to kick the Negro out of the party and to his place white-wry dry land. "That is his contribution to the history if the Republican Party can get it right, will tell if he can not get, with it."

"When Musulmania ratifies the old honey of the mance of the old man, he clares to call white civilization," he clared Dr. Russell. "He does it merely as a new step in the speeches of the past, and performs once a week to keep his people." So far the Negro in America is concerted in the only one in the population. Musulmania is the only one of the Negro here in order to make his absurd charge. The world are no distance to white civilization of their own that in older and more humanized and in more advanced societies the success of the white civilization apparent in such instances as
War, gunnen in Chicago; Herrin, Illinois; and the lynching record of 40 years, would be enough to inspire any people with the dogged with such a civilization as our own or owing one of their own which will be more effective. "But if this mad nightmare of a Colorized race menace, were as true as in inmate, illicit, or even the wild-eyed Munisilin, Stoddard would not be harmed, we have imagination to civilization, liberty, democracy and progress that is embodying the absolute despotism of Munisilin imposed by force and fraud placed "Munisilin is the greatest of all menaces to the pace of Europe he will do next. One of the 'most' probabilities for the economic improvement of our group is seen in the manner toward 'the insurance'. Time was when lodges and traditional associations were the main resources of the people for care and funds to buy them at death. Although this form of life insurance was better not at all, the more mature and more than often overcarrife. In the past ten or fifteen years, however, our people have become more aware of the need of more adequate life and health protection and have purchased policies in reliable companies. Workplace benefits for them have increased. Manage the kind of insurance offered them has steadily improved.

Northern Democracy is the claims of the race as Northern Republicans. On the other hand, the attitude between a Southern Republican has yet to be established and defined. It used to be said that when the Democratic party, the Southern Negro, battles would want the upper hand and the race of the race. But if your wife has your success largely to the same level of Negro battles who are the Republican side of the fence. Here again, the poor Negro is left to suffer.
Republicans are wet, yet it is fortunate that it is not the principal theme in the Negro group's campaign. Men here tend to believe men here. In fact, of course, bear in mind that after both parties have eliminated the war, there is nothing but prohibition left in the platform which they want. So far as farm rent, fleet ownership of water power, homesteading in tariff schedules and foreign religions are concerned the Negro group is not able to take his choice between you and the "Happy Warrior" country in safe picket wine.

The letter to the Romans was written by St. Paul near the close of his third missionary journey, from Corinth, and deals with some of the most vital facts of the relation of the Christian to civil government and social welfare of the community. The church at Rome was composed of Jews and Gentiles perhaps with the later in the majority. It had long been Paul's desire to visit Rome and to see the people there, so he feeling in this respect is very touchingly expressed in Romans 1:13; "Now I would not have, you ignorant, brechen, that oftentimes I have purposeed to come unto you (but was let hitherto), that I might have same fruit among you also, as among the Gentiles." At the very time he was writing this letter he had planned to visit Jerusalem, but the Gentiles' mitten which had been selected to carry the relief funds to the poor saints in Jerusalem—hence he never got there until he wants as a prisoner. It seems that the purpose of this letter was primarily to confirm the faith of the Roman Christians by giving them a systematic statement of the nature and working of the gospel. Rome was so far removed from the center of Christian activity that
The chapter from which our lesson is taken for today deals with vital matters—those of tribute, and allegiance to constituted authority. Already Paul had emphasized the duty of Christians to keep peace with all men whether ably and kindly toward all men—and then the apostle passes to the question which was giving the church much concern: that of its obligations toward the civil powers of the nation, that it was unlawful on religious hortication becomes the more clear and impressive with respect to civil duties when one considers the feeling of the Jews toward the Roman government—many of its leaders contended that it was unlawful on religious hortication during the burning question during the ministry of our Lord—the question was put squarely to Him—"Is it lawful to pay tribute to Caesar?" Insurrection against Roman rule had been frequent, notably among them had been a powerful power, a power to power great concern, it was so stubborn that Josephus says that it planted the seed for all future rebellion against foreign rule. The Jews were closely watched and it is important to note in this connection that Christians had been known to acknowledge a Messiah as their King, and their refusal to comply with heathen usage and customs were naturally regarded as disturbers of the peace. Just before this time an insurrection had occurred in Jerusalem, and it was followed from that city by the decree of Emperor Claudius.
The present day application of the lesson is clear—good citizenship will be loyal to civil authority and willing to support it by paying taxes—citizens, who have no right to be held in the hands of the basis of suffrage and a group we should pay our poll tax despite the fact that those in authority say we shall not vote; that we shall be taxed but have no say in our legal rule over us in what is supposed to be a two-thirds vote. We should not be allowed to after a people has struggled for more than a half century to grow into those things which make for good citizenship such as education, accumulation of property, and recognizing unquestioned loyalty to the state and nation in time. We should not be slaves in slavery by those in authority for any people in a free republic who are denied the right to vote for or against public officials are shaves in the trust sense of law. We should be being said in our day about a growing disregard for law and the importance of highest authority take the lead in the violation of those laws which are out of harmony with their prejudice. It should be borne in mind that the Fourteenth Amendment is just as much a part of the United States Constitution as that document and when they are violated with impunity by a Christian nation which is compassing land and sea to make proxies, we can understand why lawlessness this morning, "As we would have done, to this Nation even so unto them." In this present national campaign the two major parties have constantly endeavored to promote the interest of their candidate by races to meet the demand of good citizenship. God will some day bring about a change.
We now turn to the last phase of our lesson ABSTAIN-INCIPLE FROM INTOXICANTS as a Christian duty. It is a wonderful relief to correct thinking on this problem to be permitted to turn for the time from the babba and

modern confusion of tongues as to the most effective method of promoting temperance and孝谊 and listen to the quiet and thrilling voice of the Apostle Paul on the subject. He says nothing in favor of stringent and coercive laws prohibiting the manufacture or use of liquor or anything in favor of a bone dry creed. Was the Apostle then indifferent to advancing the cause of temperance, as the term is generally understood today? Was the Apostle a national liberty a term expressing the "web of liberty" the Epistle to the Remana discloses the fact that he was not, Paul put the good of society first. Above the freedom of the individual to do as he pleases, which is the basis of the doctrine of "personal liberty", Paul upheld the community as a collective unit to circumscribe and regulate human behavior. It is not to be questioned that the 18th Amendment which out-lawed whisy is hegain a great blessing to the Nation, notwithstanding, a large number of violators of the law have died from drinking poisoned liquor. The nation has to the millions of women and neglected children should be punished for prohibition than the cry for a return to the ruregime to satisfy the lawless element of our society who are willing to take a chance on their lives in the purchase of bootleg whiskey. We must challenge the rumor of the return of the road until the Nation shall be truly dry. Not only the benefits of prohibition more than our race group—so let everyone do his duty. ON WITH THE DANCE!
A new dance, called "The Dance," was presented by the New York City Dance Association on November 10, 1928, at the New York City Opera House. The dance was composed by the composer John Barry and performed by the dancers of the New York City Dance Association. The dance was performed in a large hall, and the dancers were dressed in costumes that reflected the theme of the dance. The dance was a celebration of the dance tradition, and it was intended to be a fun and enjoyable experience for the dancers.
