Willis Fired "Big Bertha."
After the other grand lodge officers had laid down a well-nigh-passing list of candidates, the grand lodge a smoke-screen, Grand Chancellor Willis fired "big Bertha," and it was heard around the fraternal world. The report of the grand chancellor showed that the organization organized during the year, despite the unprecedented last year and the beginning of spring; that the uniform rank is consistent with the organization of additional organizations at Dallas, Houston, Galveston, Long Beach, Grove and San Antonio. Praise Court of Calathea. Among other things, Mr. Willis
made the following observations: he was once a grand chancellor that I have been able to report to you between the grand worthy counselor and your grand chancellor, the formerly a humane, garrard Mrs. McPhearson as a woman of great judgment and one in whom she is well advised. If she remains as the head of the school will soon come when the sisters will be active during the entire year, and the financial condition of the Court of Calcutta the same year before in its history.

"New, the other suit was that the grand lodge last year, when the district court of McLean County $10,500 each as damages and restatement in the order. Pythian Temple.
"You will remember that last year you gave me directions to either rearrange the room or as my judgment might determine. As we have neither sold nor remodeled the room, we have, however, made some improvements to the revenue of the Temple and I believe that in the future we will have a peak even in expenses of management.
Offices Moved.
"For more than two years we tried to rent one of the stores on the island, but we didn't fully do it. I decided that we could as we could not rent the space for any price, it would be best for us to rent it ourselves." The Asa. As a result, on January

We have the space on the second floor formerly occupied by the grand keeper; and inasmuch as he had more space than that occupied by the grand keeper, the least another $50 per month. So you see by this move there has been added space for our office, the month by our occupying the ground floor, our present office. I have found the credit not on the order occupying the ground floor, among the best to be found anywhere in America. They reflect credit not on the order occupying the ground floor.

Membership Drives.
"Our membership drives have been continued during the year; and as a result of the same, we have added more members. When we first started these drives, every order in Texas criticized us for so doing. Now every order in the country has been criticized enough and said to show the wisdom of our courts.

"We have tonight of being the first colored organization in this state or country," said Mr. Browne, the millionaire class. "Every member of the organization is proud of this achievement. Interest. "I wish to especially call your attention to this item of interest. When we met in 1917, all salaries of officers were paid out of the dues sent into the grand jury."
past several years, all salaries of officers have been paid out of the interest earned by the funds of our order. Our record this year shows that the magnificent sum of $82,300.95 has been earned in the past year. We are able to $13,000 per annum. You can readily see that out of the interest earned, we have left a balance of $12,300.95.
Recommendations—Additional Policies
In order to ensure that the order of our now justifies and insures us as our ratio of solvency has been maintained, we want an instant increase. I recommend that a law be passed giving the endowment of additional policies as in their judgment and that the order be enforced. All such additional policies issued must meet the approval of our board.

Grand Cancellor Scores Ingrates.
In a short but interesting and spicy tale, the Grand Cancellor Wills asked, "Brethren, can you vote this election? Are you satisfied with the results?" To a man, the entire process is hard. Then the chancellor proceed to give some little attention to who, he said, had been recipient of the vote. Then the chancellor said he, "I know of none which places one the committing deed far better than of ingratitude, than that of ingratitude." The grand Cancellor also made the same point, which brought forth manacled membership of the order of K. of P. Colored, of Texas with other countries which brought forth manacled membership of the order of Citizen Emmanuel Lavahy. The citizens are made and for the occasion underlines the entertainment of the next session of the grand lodge, by the lavish manacled officers, the Tuesday afternoon, the "Dokey," the lodge officer, and the lodge lodge officer with their lady lodge, out in the Gulf

JIM-CROW SIGN AT CHARITY HOSPITAL INSULT TO GROUP
New Orleans, La.—The Charity hospitals hospitalized "jim Crow" move. New Orleans to the extent that they have been made to see beyond a doubt the incarceration in civic and public institutions supported by taxation contributions. The Negroes called a mass meeting to protest against the use of representative citizens drew up strong pressure on the national board. Up to now the board has given no response officially, though they were promised to do so.
The old saying by many of the colored race that Jim Crow was the worst of all big mistakes. Where a law affects one individual of a race it affects another concerned or not. There have been many reasons or causes reported as to why the colored people were created and not subjected to the committee that it was merely to prevent congestion and no satisfactory condition has come about with reference to Charity Hospital, where a condition has caused a fine chance for separate hospital care and would never do. It would only mean inferior equipment like that given the public schools for the colored race in Louisiana. We are discriminated against in all the colleges of Louisiana, nor a commission; about the only recognition the Negro man has that stop just when the most closing door
