The greatest step forward ever made by the Army was the deployment of the battalion. All delegates present plunged into the deepest trench of the war, leaving the time is ripe for the Nazi to come to the aid of the Army. We were presented for his rights. We were impressed by the entire coouture and the spirit that prevailed the entire Army. We were presented in our group who are truthfully prepared to serve our country. NEW ORLEANS PIANIST ARTIST AT STATE MEET the piano recital of Camille Nileson, the guest artist of the State Musical Association at Baumstown, was the most successful session of the state meeting, and drew a large and numerous audience with enthusiasm from beginning to end and compiled her to respond to numerous encounters. In a most charming manner, gave an illustration of each number, which added greatly to her solielength interpretations of the music, and all music lovers who heard her. The program was intertwined with talent from different parts of the state, and PROCLAMATION BY GRAND MASTER OF ODD FELLOWS The following will govern as to qualifications to be eligible to a seat in the Grand Lodge and Grand Household: All delegates must be in possession of the requisite degree and Annual password. The legally constituted Grand Lodge and Grand Household officers, Past Grand Masters and conventional members, together with the Grand Masters and Households of Ruth, whose credentials have been duly certified to the office of District Grand Secretary and District Grand Worthy Recorder will be recognized and shall compose the legislative body of each, the Grand Lodge and the Grand Household of Ruth. Lodges and Households must have all taxes, endowments, and assessments of whatever nature due the following department: Burial Secretary J, T. Ewing, District Grand Secretary, and Mrs. G. C. Houston, District Grand Worthy Recorder. The payment of Endowment, Burial Tax, Temple Tax (if any), Budget Tax, Grand Lodge and Grand Household Tax is compulsory and no delegate will be seated in either the Grand Lodge or Grand Household whose Lodge or Household he or she represents that payment in the payment of any or all of the taxes indicated. Reduced rates over all Texas railways entering Houston have been granted by the railway companies and delegates and members of the Order who may wish to attend the Grand Lodge are requested to read the announcement of Jas. T. Ewing, District Attorney, of Houston, for the statement clearly defining and setting forth the requirements that will obtain and the basis of fares, dates that tickets will be placed on sale and time of return limit; special accommodations will be provided by the railways for the comfort and convenience of all persons attending the Grand Lodge and Grand Household. Delegates will be attending for Houston from different sections of the state. Chair cars from Texarkana, Denison, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Waco and Beaumont will be provided for, and other points if the number of delegates warrants. Delegates will come to the Grand Lodge and Grand Household prepared to stay until the time of departure. The rate of $2.00 per day. The Memorial Services that will be held in honor of the deceased Grand Master will take place promptly at 3 o'clock p. m., Sunday, August 1, and the grand opening of both Grand Lodge and Grand Household will begin at 8 o'clock p. m., Monday, August 2, and all Grand Lodge officers and delegates are required to leave their homes in time to be present at both occasions. As Grand Master, my I urge that every Lodge and Household, the Patriarchies, Juvenile Societies, Past Masters' Councils and Ladies' Chambers put forth every effort to have as many representatives present as permissible. Houston will be the mecca for the Lodge and Grand Household and Ruthines of Texas in August. The magnificent Temple is now completed and equipped and will be the center of attraction where the business sessions of both the Grand Lodge and Grand Household will be held. This beautiful building with its modern conveniences is the very last word in architecture and construction. The delegates and visitors will have the opportunity to walk down the aisle with a sense of pride and satisfaction that is not easily described. Enwrapped in this magnificent Temple is a mute testimony of the loyalty of the membership of the entire Jurisdiction and is also a fitting clinion in honor of H. G. Gore, D. G. M., deceased, who gave his last years to see that it was erected and completed and that the terrible strain under which he labored, caused his u-timely massacre. This should be a year for great rejoicing and to Almighty God for the great success and accomplishments of Odd Fellows and Ruthines in the Jurisdiction. May I urge as Grand Master that all delegates come to the Grand Lodge and Grand Household of Ruth imbued with the spirit of co-operation and will be an incentive to even do greater things in the 'future and more determined than ever that there be no steps backward by the Grand Old Order. G. Loper, county agricultural demonstration agent. The farms and demonstration plots visited were in the Huffsmith community, and the members of the party were involved in all of the work being made by the farmers. They saw advance crops of corn, cotton, melons, tomatoes, peas, and a variety of other crops, all of which were being cultivated on demonstration plots under the direction of the county demonstrator.
