Sovereign International Confusion.
One of the great problems confronting the Negro of America is the confusion of his own deals, declared Mr. Mary Mel.LOehn Bethea, president of the National Association of Colored Women. In her address to the biennial convention, thousands persons were present as she announced her program and she was cheered to the rabies by delegates and members.
Her program included the maintenance of a memorial through the consecrated efforts of the late president of the association, Mary H. Browne, and the assistance through the consecrated efforts of the past president, Miss Halle Q. Pitta's two-play killings, while Washington showed the way in the American with 1624. The ball game played between the Clerks-Carriers and the Walk-Over teams Sunday, August 8, at the Crestwood team for the first five innings, after which the Clerks-Carriers went up in the air and lost control. The Walk-Over played well throughout the game. Clerks Jones opened the game for the Clerk-Carriers withpkg behind the ball, but well, but failed to get the proper supra, bright for him. Pitcher Derek Bengy was a young fielder. Clerks Jones is a young fielder. Clerks Jones gave the Walk-Over a complete work out in batting, by striking out nine men in success. The Clerk-Carriers had to retrieve, this being their first rag time since the team was organized. There were some professional players in coaching and teamwork was evident. Ackerman, the team leader, the Clerk-Carrier gave fective work in promoting the team and promised to have the team in tip-toe.

The lifeblood was invented in 1784 by Lionel Lakin of Dumnow, England, a landowner who had always lived away from the pool. Those boats are now made of corrugated iron. The first one contained side air chambers, then cock was substituted, and the pool was curved.

HOUSTON, TEXAS, SATURDAY, AUGUST 14, 1926
TEXAS G. O. P. PRIMARY ELECTION IN BAD LIGHT.
For the past ten years Mr. Saxon has been actively engaged in the realms of education and during this time has created scores of homes and negotiated new contracts.
Elsewhere in this issue of The Informer will be found a reprint from the Chicago Defender, the most widely read race newspaper in the world, dealing with and exposing the manipulations of the Creager-Note-Lee-Morris so-called republican regime in Texas, the purported holdout of the first primary election ever conducted in this state by the republican party, Saturday, July 24, 1926.
TAYLOR'S BARBECUE
DELIGHTFUL EVENT
TAYLOR'S BARBECUE
DELIGHTFUL EVENT
Just as The Informer predicted in a previous issue, this paper know that such internal issues as injected into the republican party, such as the "blowout" of the Republican publican, "lily-white" bosses to deny all republican electors their constitutional rights to participate in said primary election, as free American citizens, would be used to an advantage by Negro voters in North, where their influence is considerably felt in republican circles.
With the wilt of oil well machinery just a few feet away—in fact, on their premises—and with numerous riders towering skyward on their holdings, Mr. and Mr. Hurt F. Taylor, in fact, the entire Taylor family-staged an old-fashioned barbecue on the property. Pierce Junction Tuesday afternoon.
Not only does the Chicago Defender enjoy the largest circulation among colored people of any newspaper in the world, weekly or daily; but this Windy City race newspaper, without a reasonable price, is one of the people than any other colored publication printed in the world.
This palatable spread was complimentary to M. R. Lipski of Dallas, Anna M. Lipski of Dallas, and Artz. Meddamean Long and being sisters to M. Burt Turtley. It was a real barbecue, with all the trimmings of the meat, and an ideal feast. This was followed with juice, juiceous watermelons, and the way those city folks devoured that.
Employing as a caption, "Texas G. O. P. Enforces Jim-Crow Methods," and a subheading, "Houston Stages 'Lily-Wise' Primaries," this Defender article discusses and exposes the rottenness, illegality and irregularity connected with the recent so-called republican primary election held in Texas in general and Houston in particular. From all angles, the question of court action to test the validity of the recent republican primary election held in Houston and Harris County, and just what we could hope for or expect even with a favorable court decision. The Informer has finally concluded that THE GAME IS WORTH THE AMMUNITION, and THAT OUR PEOPLE, particularly those who were disfranchised in the several city precincts, as well as those in the city and state who are unwilling for their racial brothers and sisters to be disfranchised by a bunch of political tyrants, to FIGHT A NEW DOMAIN, RISE A NEW LAWYER AND FIGHT SUCH DISFRANCHISEMENT TO THE BITTER END.
IF THE ITALIANS, JEWS OR ANY OTHER SET OF PEOPLE IN HOUSTON HAD BEEN THUS DEALT WITH BY ANY OTHER PEOPLE, THEY HAVE BEEN FILED IN SOME DISTRICT COURT TO DETERMINE IF SAID PEOPLE HAVE ANY RIGHTS UNDER THE FEDERAL AND STATE CONSTITUTIONS, AND TO AFFORD THE COURT AN OPPORTUNITY TO PASS UP THE LEGAL RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE. THE CONDITION CONDITED AS THE REPUBLICANS MANIPULATED THEIRS IN THIS CITY AND COUNTY ON JULY 24, 1926.
Mt. Olive Baptist Church
Meadow and Gillespie
REV. S. W. BRENT, Pastor.
WHENEVER ANY PEOPLE ESTABLISH A REPUTATION FOR FIGHTING IN THE COURTS OF THE COUNTRY FOR THEIR LEGAL RIGHTS, THOSE WHO WOULD DISFRANCHISE THEM, WOULD WOULD WREATHEN TIMES BEFORE ACTING, IF THEY EVER ACT ALONG SUCH DISCRIMINATORY LINES.
Our people must come into a realization that nothing can come to the person or race that is never willing to contend manfully for his or its constitutional rights, and that the price of liberty is eternal vigilance—"he who would be himself must strike the enemy." When we strike a few blown for our own freedom, then friends will come forward from all sections to champion our cause and plead our case; but we, ourselves, must make the first effort. Rights are not conveyed to men or races any more on a golden tray, or silver platter; we must fight to gain them and fight to retain them—for life consists in one battle after another, and the beloved and prize won by him who endureth (holds out) to the end.
NEW MOUNT PILGRIM
Rev. W. H. Rhodes, Pastor
In view of this fact, and because the vast majority of the republican voters of Houston and Harris County were denied their constitutional rights (in that they were disfranchised and hoodwinked out of their suffrage rights at the republican primary election in several of the strongest republican precincts in this city on July 24, 1926), the Informer suggests that the race resort to court proceedings, just like the colored citizens are doing in Galveston. The Informer suggests that the majority would whether the general election laws of Texas are a "mere scrap of paper," and whether the majority have any constitutional rights that the minority must respect.
Our Sunday School Congress, which has just closed, was a success a priori night the following delivered addresses of welcome: on behalf of the Sunday School, Miss Minnie Lee O'Brien day school choir, Misc. Catherine Whitfield; on behalf of the community, Miss Day School choir, Misc. Shanka, Papers by Mrs. O. I. Hubbard, M. Keff and Linnah Lincoln on behalf of the congress, Mrs. J. E. Nelson, as usual, delicately in her solos, Skippee Skippee an excellent music for the occasion. Miss Ruth B. Darrell, after a 30 day vacation, was in the congress, Superint
To this end there will be a conference held in the American Mutual auditorium, Monday night, August 16, 8:30 o'clock, at which time plans will be laid for our future action in this cause, and all citizens who were denied a chance to vote in the republican election will be invited to attend. We will present in person, as well as all citizens interested and concerned in their civic and political rights, at this powow (co council of war).
W. R. SAXON
citizens. Not only has he induced others to invest in Houston property, but as an indication of the faith he has in the future of our city, he has built several rent houses for himself, his income being conservatively estimated at a nice figure from his rent houses alone.
The Saxons expect to return home about the latter part of August or the beginning of September. What will visit the principal cities of the tendent Nelson is getting on about crushes as a result of a mashed footfall.
MT. CORINTH BAPTIST
REV. A. HUBBARD, Pastor.
Sunday school was well attended; season well taught; several visitors attended; the school delivered a burning message. The Conroe junior quartet presented several auditions which were enjoyed by the audience. 3 p.m., was largely attended. B. Y. P. Well, the "hearty" Odd Pillows have come, conquered and gone. The sad part of all it is, they took little Rush along with them!
With the adjournment of Friday and the next day, the Odd Pillows, the open session for "grand sessions" in Texas came to a close. Now we may turn church associations and conventions. poor railroads must live, you know.
A Baltimore paper chronicles the filing of a divorce case in which the wife, who is the plains nigger, died under the connubial roof. It's cheaper to steal an entire train than to swim.
