PRIMARY LAW DECLARED LEGA By C. M. RICHARDSON SPRING MUSIC FESTIVAL PROPOSED GOODWILL TOUR SCHOOL TRUSTEES ELECTION FLOWERS FOR THE LIVING Next Tuesday night, April 5 promptly at $25 o'clock, the fifth spring musical festival, presented an entertainment program for the Club, will be given at the City Auditorium, at which time music lovers of this city and section are assured a spectacle. According to the directors of the club, P. O. Smith, there will be a concert with the festival next Tuesday night, and the program will be no vague description, but should be pleased satisfied. In short, to paraphrase the advertising slogan of a certain brand of sunglasses, this musical festival the last note. Hereof this musical organization has placed a Negro welfare agency the principal beneficiary of the festival, annual concerts, but this year the clubs plans to employ the money to create a trip for the organization to the National Association of Negro Musicians in Chicago during August. If sufficient funds are realized from this festival for this purpose (and it will be used for the unanticipated unselfish and humanitarian service this club has rendered in Houston and the United States, and unanticipated and whole-hearted support of both races in making this proposed festival a success), plans to attend the National Negro Business League at Detroit, during the 1931 session, would help to land the 1931 session of the league for "Heavenly Houston." This organization, founded by the founder of the Negro Business League in Washington and presided over by the chairman of theton, Mr. Washington is successor both the University Institute and as titular chairman of the national meeting in Texas, and the national meeting in Houston, where he gave on record recording Houston as host for the 1931 session. In other words, the club plans to plan a conference on the proposed trip, which will make with the purpose of making money, but with the favorable sentiment for our community. Never before in the history of this country, North or South, East or West, the Negro musical and Negro musical organization essayed such a goodwill tour in the interest of the unanticipated unselfish and humanitarian program next Tuesday evening in Houston and assist the club to attain its goal. The voters of the Houston Independent School District will be called upon Saturday, April 6 to elect candidates who will serve for the next two years. The eight candidates in the field, four from the first two, four being in the race for the first three. The four members seeking reelection are: Dr. Ray K. Day, D.K. C. Barkley, W. B. Bates, Mrs. B. F. Gossett. Those seeking the office for the first time are: B. P. Fans, Dale C. Barkley, B. P. Bates and Mrs. W. Sackett. While information such, this information thinks that the four members seeking reelection deserve to be maintained on the local education. Whether you think this way or not, you should cast your ballot for four of these eight candidates. All qualified voters and the polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in public schools in the forefront by voting for the four best qualified candidates in the race. This columnist is deeply indebted to Guess Floral Company, 314 McGowen Street, presented to us last week. Undoubtedly, Mr. Comie Guesse, progressive flower shop, believes in the living for as well as the dogs. We rather relish the idea of receiving some of our flowers while we are in the garden. We are accustomed to scented aromas of the flowers, whether in the form of flower bouquets or words of encouragement. The company is one concern which has no racial barriers and deserves the support and patronage of the flowers for any and all occasions. TWO HOUSTON PHYSICIANS -OFF TO TUSKEGER CLINIC Dr. H. E.
