Tuesday afternoon the Buffalo Stade and rosters and spectators from the chilling rain, as they watched the game. Due to the wet condition of the field, the players and the players lost their identity as they were discolored by sham that had been thrown in the rain. This would work that terrific kick that would never reach the goal line. Throughout the first half Wheatley did not offer the last kick that they never reached. Yates 38-yard line but to no avail. The votes are still coming in from far and near for all schools, all administrators, and the terminated to hold its lead; Sanders Williams of Yates is really gaining. There is a slight margin between him and the other two, and many letters have been received from the alumni of both schools expressing their admiration for Sanders and their alma mater. The man is warm and maniac all the time. He is smart and who is popular. The contest will close at midnight on November 15, so you see time to watch. A WEEKLY NEWSPAPER FOR ALL THE PEOPLE
"MY SKIN ROBBED ME OF THE JOY OF LIVING"
(A True Story From Life)
IT WAS DARK, COARSE AND ROUGH
"Nobody knows how I suffered because my skin was dark, coarse and covered with pimples. The other students at school seemed to shun me and nobody ever wanted to be with me. While other girls had good looking fellows taking them to dances, to church on Sunday, and other places, I used to sit at home, gaze into my mirror and wonder how I could make myself good-looking like other girls."
I FOUND HOW I COULD CLEAR UP MY SKIN
Then one day a wonderful thing happened to me. I walked past a drug store and saw in the window a display of genuine Black and White Ointment and Skin Soap, which was guaranteed to clear up the skin and make it soft, light and pretty. I walked inside, bought a box of Ointment and Soap, went home and started using them according to directions.
OVERNIGHT, I HAD A SMOOTH, CLEAR, LIGHT SKIN.
"Believe me when I tell you that almost from the very first I saw a big improvement. My skin soon became light, soft, and fine; my complexion cleared up as if by magic and soon the people I knew were taking notice of my greatly improved complexion. The first wonderful results spurred me on to continue this treatment and now though I am married, have a wonderful husband and three fine children I still am a faithful user of genuine Black and White Ointment and Skin Soap and feel that I owe a debt of gratitude to its makers that can never be repaid.
The original and genuine Black and White Ointment and Skin Soap is made exclusively by the black and White Company of Chicago

BOYKIN'S SCHOOL OF ART
How little we know of each other in this world! Not until yesterday did I know that a Negro was conductor in City, with art-pupils of all races, all ages, and all stages of development. All forms of art are taught, from the "primitive African" through the "modern African," to a grahrayed artist, copying a vase, or rather painting a picture there are a grahrayed artist, copying a vase, or rather painting a picture there are a sort of "models," plaster. The Director of this school is Clayd L. Boykins, who won fame年 ago ties in the school. He has done an excellent likeness of Lindouhick, in his flying harness, and is now just completing a wonderful work. He is a criminal lawyer. His school studio are filled with portraits and art-forms he has painted for his wife, Marie Boykins. Where is the school located in the edge of Greenwich Village, New York City, they are all artists, art, from all quarters, and are now compiling a "Directory of Negro artists."
Not only "fine art" but also "commercial" not only "fine art" but also "commercial" is taught and developed. The school is taught and developed by commercial artists, and to all others. Scholarships could be easily established in the form of "fine art" or in "commercial" Fine Art" or in "commercial" and distributed from one to five in that moon, and from seven to ten in the day. Finally, only by personal interview, you know they can only develop them.

INTELLIGENCE AND INTEGRITY MAKE MEN
AND RACES GREAT
HOUSTON, TEXAS, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1930
PAY YOUR POLL TAX
A member of the race the other day saw the streamer in The Informer urging all to pay their poll tax and he asked a friend "Why?" Said he, "we can't vote for the mayor or any of our city officials; we can't vote for our candidate if he happens to be a Democrat as in the recent Democratic primary when we all wanted to help Mr. Sterling become governor. I don't see any sense in it and I'm not going to pay mine." The Informer realizes that there are many thousands of members of the race in county who feel the same way. And yet there is reason why every person should qualify which no citizen should shirk. Those who are opposed to the participation of Negroes in voting contests would be pleased to see the time come when Negroes would be disguised and give up the struggle. That time must never come. We must always be ready, as far as qualifying is concerned, to go to the polls and vote. The right of a party to eliminate us from their state controlled contests will be continually contested. We will never cease to seek the right to do as all other citizens do. Then ownership of a Poll Tax receipt will always come down to the voters, which is scheduled for early next year, three or four thousand of us attempt to cast a ballot? Many of us are Democrats. At least we would be Democrats if we were allowed. What is there against our choosing our own candidate and running him as our DEMOCRAT? Stranger things happen when you vote for a Democrat. That sort THE INDEPENDENT HAS WON! It might happen again.
Another reason. Jobs are scarce. Houston is over advertised and thousands from other parts of the country are coming into the city every week. There are not enough jobs to go around and soon it will be true that jobs will be given to those who can prove themselves citizens of the country. If you are a citizen of the country found. No man or woman should be with you. So, PAY YOUR POLL TAX. GET YOUR RECEIPT AND KEEP IT. YOU WILL NEED IT SOONER THAN YOU THINK.
TWELVE YEARS HAVE PAST
Twelve years ago we were just emerging from hell, murder, carnage, suffering and waste of life and property—for what? Some, including our own president at that time, declared that we were "making the world safe for humanity," and that we were "making the world safe for humanity." Banners waved; bands played; all sorts of units of peacetime organizations joined in giving thanks that the rigors of war were over and that the earth, at least America, had settled down to the pursuits of peace, happiness and prosperity. Negro organizations were repulsed by the violence of the war, boys from three high schools of the city, in their bright colored garb were a riot of beauty and an inspiration to any beholder. A unit of ex-service man was also there. There were scarcely twenty of these, yet they were there doing their bit under the leadership of one who saw actual service in the trenches, and who in some time is still doing his bit to see it that they do not lose spirit.
Could it be reasonably expected that at some time in the near future when those who have forborne and who have trusted in the police can act, they are continually doing, that as of us, whether the police can face facing the question of the probity of our civic laws, or can face facing the question of our civic laws?
THE HOUSTON INFORMER

self of the idea that some such thing must be faced in the future, unless there can come a real conviction to those who now govern the destinies of all of our Southland of the inherent right of all citizens to share in ALL peace time pursuits; those which have to do with parades and observances and those which are the inculcation such as voting, fair trials without the danger of the mob, etc.

The Informer this week publishes an open letter from the prof. James D. Ryan, foremost educator of this city, calling upon all who are interested to contribute toward the Wiley Education Board. The Board will send the letter that the drive seeks to secure from members of the race an amount equal to one promised by the General Education Board, if it is matched by the school.
Negro schools of the type of which Wiley is representative must be supported by the actual count of those whom they have served ever than ever. Time when the race had not progressed to such a point that its members were able to shoulder the responsibility of carrying on institutions for educating its youth. That time has passed. All of them have been found in the forefront of civic life in all of the communities of our state. Practically all of their prosperity is directly traceable to the influence of the school in which they received their first urge toward efficient living and working. It should be a stronghold of the institution all and always toward the perpetuation of the institution which served them so well.
The Informer hopes that every friend of Negro education and of Wiley will rally to the appeal of Prof. Ryan and to such others who are interested in the education of their children. It hopes that as all other schools launch such enterprises, and many of them will be forced to do this by the ever increasing demands for improved curricula, the general public will think seriously of the tremendous part which these schools have played in the development of the nation and their purse strings freely and thus guarantee their continuance.
DEPRIEST IS BEELECTED
Two weeks before election time it was announced that Mayor William Hale Thompson of Chicago had withdrawn his support from Mrs. McCormick and was urging the election of a Democrat. The attention of the country was centered on the effect. They have on the candidacy of Oscar DePriest, only Negro member of the Democratic Party, showed that the Negro Congressman had decisively defeated his opponent, although the Democrat supported by Thompson won by a landslide. It is a well known fact that Chicago Negro voters are members of a machine. They are rigidly organized and they have little interest in the important part of the controlling machinery of all elections. But the Democratic Party, that, although members of a machine, they have decided that their own interests are paramount, and that they will not sacrifice racial advantages in order to "stay in line." Either that or they had tacit agreement that their support of the Democratic nominee was in no way affect their support of their own Concession. They would go back to Congress, and there is no reason to feel that he has been accident. He has been actually elected. That is as it should be.
Negroes in all other parts of the country may well study the methods of Chicago voters and decide to work for their own interests in a sensible way. They vote. They are considered in proportion as their leaders are sensible or are creators and are in control of the machine. They could profit to a larger extent. The Negro voters of Chicago and of other places with in frequency are showing the way. It is only by sensible handling of the problems of Negroes in America. There is no dividing line as far as geography in this country is concerned. The problems of one section can be solved by the complete understanding and sympathy of in other sections. Negroes have a national problem which they can solve by the proper action to move. Negroes in Congress can have their effect on the national problems of those Negroes who cannot yet find representatives of their cause. And in all sections of America, there can be more sensible handling of votes for the securing of those ordinal rights and privileges which now are not to be had by the race.

CRIME AND HEALTH ARE VITAL TOPICS
If we could cut a segment, connect the groups of race and classes, or the groups of race and classes, interesting picture would be revealed. Tilton School College For Women
Missouri Branch is the new president of the college, which comes from Missouri, where people have to be prepared to take the task of teaching that a college has to do. The school has a very definite need in the state of Texas. She has begun by teaching what she has and making what she wants out of it. Old things are dead, and new things are usable. Worthless things are being used and unable. Worthless things are utilized, to their fullest capacity, additions are not contemptuously used by young students under this new regimen. This branch plans to make sure that students will live in the community between education and life by reproducing on the college campus an array of students who will live in the community as students in a homekeeping department for the girls will have an opportunity to spend some of their time. Tilton School College for Women is, as some suppose, its college for girls.
St. Philips is going through a period of transition. For many years Miss Brown, the principal of school, and under the direction of Miss Brown, its president, has made its contribution. Plans are now under the direction of the school of the Episcopal Church and the college, non-dominion in character, or a public junior division of the Board of Education of San Antonio. Miss Brown states that one of these things will happen.
