Among the prominent and leading republicans of this county, is no less a man than Richard M. Sullivan of Springfield.
JAMES W. GULLETT
Elizabethtown, Illinois
Republican Candidate for
SECRETARY OF STATE
Mr. Sullivan is a recognized leader in the republican party and for the past 15 years has been, in one way or another, in a prominent position, having held several important offices, both elective and appointive.
He has done more to help republicans to victory than any other single man and most of the time, he himself was not a candidate for office. At no time in his political history, has he gone amuck and bolted. When he and individual republicans had differences, those differences were fought out and settled within the party. He never sacrificed his party for personal "vengeance."
He is considered now the best leader in county politics, and, under his leadership and management the republicans have won more victories and better ones than under any other for the past 12 years.
He is called a natural born leader and is well liked by all, even men who sometimes are not with him, recognize in him special ability and leadership.
He has done herculean work, not only in county politics, but city and state as well.
The rank and file or "common people" like him because he is true to his word and believes in helping his friends and standing by those who stand by him.
He never has been known to turn down a friend who had endeavored to stand by him and his friends and the great republican party.
He is a good man to lead and whenever placed in command bring results.
Of Logan County, Republican Candidate for State Auditor
Has served two years in the General Assembly and made a conspicuous record.

Mr. Gullett is a practicing lawyer and served 16 years in the Secretary of State's office, working from janitor up to legal advisor of the great office, and is therefore one of the best qualified men for the place in the state. He is making an active county to county campaign and gaining adher ants daily.

We must insist upon you paying the collectors, whoever they may be, and please don't tell the collector you will see the editor. The reason we hire help is because we have not the time or rather conveyance to cover the territory and look after the other business connected with the office. Manager.
Notice
The Forum Office is located at 7131/2 E. Wash. St. three doors east of the Nickle Show. You ought to come up and pay for your paper every Saturday or every month. We have been kind and patient, because we are desirous of our people becoming readers, and helpers, to establish enterprises among their people, things which are essential. We are compelled to have support, because it costs dearly to keep the business operating.

HON. GEO. H. WILSON OF ADAMS COUNTY
Republican Candidate for Attorney General.
Hon. Geo. H. Wilson, of Quincy, candidate for Attorney General on the republican ticket, has a conspicuous record for results achieved.
Mr. Wilson has been a practicing lawyer for 20 years; was city Atty. of Quincy, served two terms as States Atty, of Adams Co. and has been a member of the General Assembly for 4 or 5 terms. During the last few years he has been the floor leader of the "dry" side of the legislature.
He is a man of the genial disposition and very courteous to all. While he is a leader of the dry element, he is always fair and ready to concede fairness to all.
Popular with all People
Mr. Wilson is very popular with all the people of Quincy and over the state with whom he is acquainted. He is a member of the M. E. church and one of the leading lay members and received the highest vote at the last Annual Conference, of any law delegate, to the General Conference.
Mr. Wilson is Trustee of Illinois College, Jacksonville and closely allied with all the interests for up-lift and progress. Among the colored people he has many friends and he is a man who looks to high ideals and respects all men alike according as each man respects himself and deserves to be treated.
As a lawyer, versed in all the fine details, Mr. Wilson ranks among the best in the state and will make one of the best state legal dispensers we have ever had.
The office needs a man of high ideals, unimpeachable integrity, sagacity and wide legal experience. All these Mr. Wilson has and he is a man who will carry out the law in passing upon questions of law, regardless as to whom it touches.
In Geo. H. Wilson we may safely rely upon a big-hearted fair man, who will do the right thing by every person in the whole state.

HON. HOMER J. TICE OF MENARD COUNTY FOR STATE AUDITOR
Representative Homer J. Tice, one of the leading republicans in the General Assembly is a candidate for State Auditor. He is a staunch republican and has made an enviable record in the lower House. He is the father of the good roads bill and has been a constructive legislator. He is considered a strong candidate and the down state leader.
Mr. Tice has a strong following and is a man of unimpeachable character. His reputation for progressive legislation is conspicuous.
He has been in the "lime light" for the past several years, but, for harmony and party success without friction he has not aspired to a state position.
He is conceded to be one of the strongest down state men in the republican party.
