Master M. Myself acted as ring bearer and little Jhanna Half was shower girl. Each lady in the bridal party carried a basket of fragrant flowers and each youth man wore a laityrence of it were.
The bride was elegantly gowning in white dresses satin with silver beading and intriguing trimmings.
Her beautiful bridal veil was held in plait by a circular wreath of orange blossoms she carried, a large shower bonnet of bride roses. When the bride reached the altar there was a pansy and Miss Jannita Patton very favorably embellished, a sash entitled "Because." The wedding ceremony was perruced by Rev. N. P. Greggs. Immediately after the ceremony Miss Mice Root sang "Paradise," which was very appropriate. Rev. Glenn McWilliams, private secretary and note-singer, Mayor Woodman, made congratulatory remarks commending the groom highly upon his good character and efficiency as
Mr. Engling W. N. R. a high school student who has got the past five movies he has embellied at Tennessee Arizona, by the ComboBabies Mines. He has returned home in response to a call of his country to entrain the American Lake in a few days. Mr. Walker gives a glowing report of the prospects of the ComboBabies Mines Co. and is enthusiastic over the outlook and ultimate output of that race enterprise.

I am here in the company's workshop at first 00 m old Sunday last. The just one hundred both sections and a few to be taken in session to follow the plan. The plan is to have a particularly less day to. When to do the same, one month ago. My I started with both were two days to do it all. In my own way I applied to the pastor for another one, and you sent me and met me. On Monday the com put me to a local office and to meet me on Monday. One month ago we met each other. Monday was the same day. In the past two months I have been there for some time. We were at a place on the Sabbath.
A common issue is that we have a lot of 可yder, and we are not sure if the first face has to. However, the next one will be a very important one. We are going to be in a new position. We are going to be in a new position. We are going to be in a new position.

Services at this church were both grand and glorious. Last Sunday. The pastor preached morning and evening. The evening subject was "Bless the Lord, O My Soul and Forget Not All His Benefit." 103rd Psalm, 2nd verse. We cannot soon forget the many points of interest brought up in this sermon.
The Sunday school, and B. N. P. U. are growing bigger and bigger each Sunday, so come and help us to study God's word.
Strangers' and visitors are always welcome.

East St. Louis, Ill., Oct 22.—Testimony that during the race riots here July 2 a mob of fiends threw a colored child into a burning house after it had escaped from the flames, was given at the Congressional inquiry today by Edwin Popkess, a reporter for a St. Louis (Mo.) newspaper. He also said he saw our or five National Guardsmen shoot and kill two colored men who ran from a burning house.
Paul Y. Anderson, a newspaper reporter, testified that before Federal Judge Landis ordered a reformation last November many saloons in the city were conducted in a disorderly manner and were the eminent breeding places of crime, and he believed it was the same element haunting these resorts that took part in the race riots. The law as element had been so powerful for years that political parties played for its support, Anderson said.
John W. Paton, general manager of the Morris & Co. packing plant, where many colored people were employed, was asked by Rep. Baker why he had not gotten fifty rides and stood between the mob and men and women they were murdering. He replied, "Well, to tell you the truth, we were afraid for our lives."
Old Man's Home Saved By Injunction. Fraud Charged.
An injunction just issued by the Riverside County Court will prevent the foreclosure of a trust deed on the old home place of Crafford Carter, an aged colored man of Perris, Riverside county.
Attorney Afe McDowell of Los Angeles, representing Carter, returned last week from a three days' trip to Riverside and Perris, where he had gone to look after the old man's interests.
According to the complaint which Attorney McDowell filed in the Riverside County Court, the case seems to be another instance of where an aged Negro, being unable to read or write, had placed all of his confidence and business with an influential grocer.
The complaint alleges that while Carter was mentally incompetent to transact business, the grocer forced Carter to sign a deed of trust on his home. Now the grocer is endeavoring to foreclose the trust deed. Carter has many friends in Riverside county and Los Angeles and resided in Southern California for more than 25 years.

The loyalty of the colored Americans has been practically demonstrated by the way they subscribed to the liberty bonds and, further, by the enthusiastic way in which they turned out to cheer our soldiers on their departure.
The croakers can forever subside, when in the space of 54 years an exslave can step up to the Secretary of the Treasury and subscribe for on behalf of one of his fraternal organizations $50,000 worth of liberty bonds and pay for the same on the spot.
And now that we have done our bit in this liberty bond campaign, let's keep up the gold work and in every endeavor and in every movement has for its object the success of American arms, let us join in with the same spirit and do our best all along the line.
We are very pleased to note the improvement of the general make-up of the Oakland Sunshine, for live reading matter in both its internal and general news a decided forward step is noted. And we congratulate our broad-minded friends of the North, and they have our very best wishes for a continued progress along all lines of newspaper effort. There is great good about THE SUNSHINE.
Scheduled to commence on the 1st of June and fast to those who sought them during the session of the drafted new bill now those who grew and how to come to know that these sleddight officers, will be out of a place in the Mines proposition. Laws to be passed in the Liberty, the Constituent, and the House will be the result of the efforts of the other members of the city this session, the session of the session of the session, and in this way three new laws will be passed in the city of London, the real worth as never before. It is granted a method to the ordered no plea that such places which have served a high standard in the London world are condition to be given people a chance.

One thing certain, you may rest assured that when the American Negro is employed in a position of honor and trust, not one time in a thousand will that trust be betrayed no fear of intrigue or of spying with this class of our citizenship on guard. Can so much be said of any other class? We pause for an answer.
A conservative estimate by persons who are qualified to judge large bodies of people, is that there were 10,000 colored people at the depot on last Sunday evening to bid farewell to the dratted men, and seeing this mighty gathering, on this patriotic occasion, causes one to think of the great responsibilities in store for them should they combine their efforts for real progress along the various lines of endeavor.
The need of a sound and healthy Negro Press was never more apparent than at this time. The scant mention of the notable gathering on last Sunday in the daily papers shows that it is not their mission to exploit the things worth while which are accomplished by the people and if it is heralded to the world we must do it ourselves; therefore it's clearly up to this same people to build up their very own press if they expect the exploitation of the things worth while. And, just think! no mention whatever was made in the daily, press of the wonderful occasion at the Eighth and Towne street church on Oct. 24. So, in actions, not in words, they say to us. "You must tread the wine press alone!" The question which now confronts us is: "Are we equal to the occasion?"
Thomas F. Ryan, the multimillionaire, who married just twelve days after the demise of his wife, evidently thought that the deceased was just as dead as she ever would be.
The question of "Wet or Dry," like Banquo's Ghost, will not down and the people of the city will be called to render their verdict on Nov. 20 as to what Los Angeles thinks about this issue.
We regret very much that some of our young men who are aspiring to do the things worth while fail at the outset to set a premium on honesty. And when they fail to do this they will, without question, fail long before reaching their goal. You cannot make good army officers, doctors, lawyers, or anything else, if you are dishonest.
As the time approaches for the "Wet or Dry" election, we again begin to see the DOUBLE Cross. The barefoot leaders are now in their glory, having demonstrated, to their own satisfaction, at least, that they are bona fide leaders; they are now out for the money. And now even the uninitiated can fathom their game.

At least, give me time to pray!"
"Away with the Negro!" the stern Judge cried.
Immediately the hand cuffs clicked.
The innocent victim shifted and shied.
While blows on his head rained thick.
They carried him away to the public square.
Where the masses could see and hear.
They applied the torch in the open air.
Where the masses could see and hear,
"0, Lord!" cried the Negro, "Are you a just God!
After serving you all these years,
Is this the promised rich reward
That I've earned with my prayers and tears?"
"We know you're not guilty," the crowd shouted in glee.
As they punched in the Negro's face;
"We've just got to kill you, don't you see"
For daring to surp the white man's place!"
The sun overhead was clouded with shame.
in its center there beamed a bright star.

We'll help put your fear to rout.
We'll go and help you shoulder the gun;
We'll go and help you fight.
But give us credit when victory is won,
And hereafter treat us right."
Every Negro in America realizes the necessity of such an organization, especially at this crucial time in the race's history. So vast is this work that it took many months of pains-taking endeavor before the plans

The Heath Jubilee Chorus is growing with an intense interest, Prof. Heath, chorus instructor, and Mr. N. Robinson, president of the elective committee, are doing all in their power to make this chorus a grand success. The first thing that is done when the chorus is called to order by Prof. Heath is to sing, "Blest be the tie that binds," and any one having aught against a sister or brother and who have not been speaking to one another, is to go and shake their hand and let all differences between them cease. All the churches are taking a part in this chorus; and if this method will bring them all together in peace, love and harmony, may God bless the chorus and its promoters, and may it continue forever and ever.

Stoney and cold sat the Judge,
While in silence sat the Jury.
A trembling Negro was before the bar,
While the mob raged out in frenzy.
"Prisoner at the bar, you're guilty of
murder and rape:
murder and rape;
Your guilt shines bright in your eye.
My friends await to give you the tape;
Therefore, you're doomed to die."
"Before God, Judge, I'm not guilty of crime!
I'm as innocent as a new-born day.
To prove that $^5$ I'm right, I ask for more time;
While out from the East rose a cloud;
The mob still cursing the Nero's name,
When it thundered long and loud.
The cloud grew darker and longer in
size;
We mean t this time; it's no lie; it's no shan;
It's your country, as well as it's mine,
Hereafter we'll always treat you right,
So, accept of our fig and vine.
We'll bury the hatchet, we'll bury the past;
the future is bright for you.
Our lesson, though hard, we learned it as last.
What I say, that I swear we'll do."
A Negro walks up and grasps the hard,
Though his heart was filled with doubt:
"We'll try you again. But it's man for man;
