THE EXPRESS BEATS NATION IN CONFERENCE ELECTION "SCOOP"
To the Dallas Express belongs the honor of having been the only Newspaper in America to report the full account of the election of the A. M. K. General Conference now in session at Louisville. No other Newspaper presents the country carried as full and complete a report as did the Express in its last week alone. Its effect to see that its reading public received the news while it was news! it bears the "World's Greatest" which only could news up till Wednesday night. The news disjointed of the Express included checking carried on Thursday afternoon. Such service is now made possible to the Express by rounding off the mostunde months before the meeting of the Conference. And in calling the attention to public the fact of lying being the first to tell 10% it only thus takes credit to itself for living up to its name of being always progressive and distinctive in service. First, last, and always, it is "your paper."

Invitation to Conference With Northern Churchmen Meets With Flat Refusal. Declare That Such a Conference Would Complicate its Situation
ATLANTA GA. May 31 -- For some time there has been a tendency on the part of a great number of southwesterners to account for the southern white churchmen together in an endeavor to come to some common understanding annot the session of hearing with the southern white man's conception of how it should be handed without conference or consultation with the Northern Baptist Convention or any other organization. Many speakers to ascertain the attitude of southern whites declared that it was but a piece of the southern part of northern white man's conception to endeavor to intrude themselves into the affairs of the South as respects the Negro. "We know the Negro better than anybody else and also how to handle him best. We don't need any outside advice or help in taking care of the situation!" one speaker called Negro problem. In an effort to ascertain the attitude of southern whites was brought before the convention last Wednesday by the exe-
proval of the whole city of Houston and the state at large. But such was not the case.
When it became known that the Grand Lodge was planning to build a temple on the property obtained of various kinds began to make their appearance. First, there was an injunction gotten out by a supposed belief to the land which had to be disposed of before the title was clear. Then it happened that there were many offers on the part of the white citizens of Houston to purchase the land. But none of the offers seemed sufficient to move the governing heads of the Order to sell. Later, it developed that there would be some trouble in obtaining permission of the state officers to allow the Grand Lodge to finance its own concern and the work of construction was delayed by this.
Grand Master Gore with his usual tact and skill worked and met obstacle after obstacle, occupying always and clearing the way for the realization of the dream of many persons that the Grand Lodge has had and saving the way for the increasing of the real estate and wealth of the Order.
When complete, this building will
