Boys' Conference Held At Library
The first Older Boy Conference for this section of the state, under the samples of the State Y. M. C. A. committee, was held last week, before Friday and closing Sunday afternoon. M. E. L. Jordan, state secretary, was in direct charge. Being a new understanding among our group, it was well attended and dealt a deal of interest with Mr. W. C. Craver of the Colored Men's department of New York, was present and delivered two very inspiring addresses while the entire program was presented. Mr. W. Craver presented a spring. The boys manifested a great deal of interest in the four-fold chart on the spiritual, physical, intellectual and social phases of this life. He delegated himself and could demonstrate the standard of a well-developed four-square boy. M. E. L. Jordan, boys work secretary at the Central Association, conducted the charting as based on the Christian citizenship training program of the state. Upon completion of the day schools, it was announced the conference stage upon being in Beaumont. The fellowship members were elected: President, Anthony Harris, Houston; first vice president, John B. Smith, Houston; second vice president, O. E. Smith, Houston; third vice president, J. I. Lance, Houston; fourth vice president, Julius Watson, leaving the city for Tulsa Langston and Mukonkee, OK., where he goes to assist in an Older Boy conference at the first named place in the conference. The representative of the international committee, Mr. Gordon expressed himself.

This Association lives in peace and harmony with all mankind and stands for the uplift of humanity in general.
Read carefully and see what we workingmen and women can do if we only come together. Are we going to remain swerving back against ourselves?
We are workingmen and women can do so something, if we fail to do so.
We are sitting down on our children.
We have made arrangements with Mr. R. T. Andrew, our unit Street and town council, and we need good people; also with Mr. Toum, our coal dealer, for fuel. How’s that?

The directors of the local Old Folks' lodge, which committee is responsible for local lodge, meet every Tuesday night at 1695 Andrews street. Every local lodge is asked to send one representation to the local meetings of this point committee.
The band, under the able direction of Prof. J. H. Macaway, performs a variety of music and orchestra instruction, is making splendid headway with the progress of signs at as present, the annual Thanksgiving service in May. All instruments belong to the local band.
Officers of the committee: G. W. Finch, chairman; H. B. Washington, secretary; A. G. Felder, treasurer.
Daddy's Occupation.
It was the first day of school and the teacher was taking the names of the students and the business of each one. Small Lucy gave her name and that of her father, he baptized and became a teacher. Urged by the teacher, she blushingly said: "He is aunt Jane that does the business of the beautiful columns of the newspaper."
Useful Asset.
A famous lawyer was well known as a delightful reconeuer. This gift was not only for him, but a valuable member of his own home circle, for it is related that at some point he met some to some friends, his old butter whispered to him: "Fir, you must tell me that I am a lawyer, and you should be ready for another ten minutes." The Wife and the Foe. There is this difference between a wise man and a fool. The wise man expects future things, but does not expect the present. The time enjoys the present, remembering the past with delight. But the life of the wife is wholly carried on to the life of the man.

Merry Christmas may be described as a natural condition. Ounces, cips, and
