Boys' Conference Held At Library Boys' Conference Held At Library The first Older Boy Conference for this section of the state, under the samples of the State Y. M. C. A. committee, was held last week, before Friday and closing Sunday afternoon. M. E. L. Jordan, state secretary, was in direct charge. Being a new understanding among our group, it was well attended and dealt a deal of interest with Mr. W. C. He delegated himself and could demonstrate the standard of a well-developed four-square boy. M. E. L. Upon completion of the day schools, it was announced the conference stage upon being in Beaumont. The fellowship members were elected: President, Anthony Harris, Houston; first vice president, John B. Smith, Houston; second vice president, O. E. Smith, Houston; third vice president, J. I. Lance, Houston; fourth vice president, Julius Watson, leaving the city for Tulsa Langston and Mukonkee, OK., where he goes to assist in an Older Boy conference at the first named place in the conference. It was the first day of school and the teacher was taking the names of the students and the business of each one. Small Lucy gave her name and that of her father, he baptized and became a teacher. Urged by the teacher, she blushingly said: "He is aunt Jane that does the business of the beautiful columns of the newspaper." Useful Asset. A famous lawyer was well known as a delightful reconeuer. This gift was not only for him, but a valuable member of his own home circle, for it is related that at some point he met some to some friends, his old butter whispered to him: "Fir, you must tell me that I am a lawyer, and you should be ready for another ten minutes." The Wife and the Foe. There is this difference between a wise man and a fool. The wise man expects future things, but does not expect the present.
