In addition, as a special feature, a park of 10 meters is to be provided for and to be used by Colored People only. Another feature of especial interest is that no foot will be placed less than 10 feet in width, with the depth running from 125 to 280 feet. The owners of this property believe that the Colored People are entitled to as much air, light and space between houses as any one else. In most of the Colored Peoples around the city, the lots run from 25 to 40 feet in width with very little depth—no boulwards, no play parks being provided for the children. Dunbar Park will no longer be the other extreme—in giving its residents every advantage possible, in the way of home beautification and development.

The G.Cliff Club and the Culture of Taylor Club have undertaken a federation of all the musical clubs of the city and every judgement thus far is that the under-taking will meet with complete success. This message is broadcast this Week to every Negro man and woman who are really honest with themselves and God in their belief that the Negro had the ability to do and to achieve the same as any other people. To you who are reading it, think it over; search yourself well, first acknowledging your self to be a Negro. If you find pride in your race—identity, you are surely of the proper mental attitude. Principal Marshall spoke on the Value of an Education. He showed many a youth of a young man or a young woman with an education. He said in part, "Mothers and fathers, keep your sons and daughters in school, prepare them for life, and when positions offer them will be ready to take them. A young man with a college education has an earning capacity of $1500 per year, while a man with an untrained mind has a earning capacity of $600 per year. This means that the total earning capacity of the three types is the same of fifty years is $2800. It is 2000 and $1800 respectively, which untrained men begin to drop toward dependence at the age of 45 while the college man reaches his maximum earning capacity at the age of fifty. Why quit school for a job now? Why live up to school for dressing now? Stay in school for the first year education, and better post-school life by writing for you. You shall find in the high school 2000 who dress better than you. Girls who are wearing skills and satins, but do not become discouraged to cause you to have to wear a. What dress. CHURCH VOTE TO DROP COLOR HAB AT CONVENTIONS
The Federal Council of Church is an organization composed of several of the leading denominations, white, black, and blue. Recently the Executive committee of this organization not in Cleveland and among other things adopted a resolution urging all churches to place their places of meeting for the purpose that provision be

Lo angustia Jesus answered by preformed Christians, in New York, when they are conscious of the branches of actual human beings when they are conscious of the branches of actual human beings. They themselves, continue among the diffrences of multitude of actual citizens of the same city, in the name of Jesus Christ. We say, the majority of them for Jesus Christ, the minority for some slaves. Not all, but nearly all. And we do not expect that our congregation will do any of the things that the Lord expels will forbid it.
"First of all, the white race should set for the Negro as worthy example in the virtues of self-control, respect for the law and regard for the rights of others. And in the meantime leaders of the Negro race should be diligent in their efforts to instill in the youth of their blood an appreciation of liberty under the law and a love of those things conducive to the peace, happiness and prosperity of the community at large.

"Under such a program" continues the editorial, "we would have something substantial upon which to base the hope for a more law-saving city and a better day." It is by no means withholdable that the situation in southern cities is different from that in northern cities, practically the case in every city of the south particularly where "The Negro has grown to maturity in an atmosphere of ignorance and crime" and in a section where no premium has been placed upon home life and its improvement. It is rather hard to imagine any other genet, from the sort of indifference which characterizes so many of the black communities in the south, than they not only do not try to improve the condition of their Negro citizens but they even go to the lengths of making it necessary that they continue to live in these "atmospheres of ignorance and vice." Crowded homes along crusades and mary mudholes in sections of the city naturally useless for any other purpose are regular breeding places for disease and uncleanliness.
capacity so small that they cannot hope for material economic independence, poor schools which must continue to be poor because of the fact that public sentiment declares that "Negroes do not need the same amount of training as do others." What else is there to expect for reduction of a state's servitude? It is that the state will need many other beautiful natural creations owe their being to such surroundings. But human beings are different. They thrive and grow in soul and mind as the result of environment which was to support and strengthen the state so objectively.
The amount of Negro crime in Memphis is considered unusually large according to The Commercial Appeal, leading daily of that city, which in its editorial of a few days ago, stated that four times as many Negroes died homicide death than did whites according to population. In assigning a reason for this unusually high number it had the following to say: "a fitting home environment and the proper training of heart and mind are absolutely essential in order to prevent the growth of criminal tendencies in those who are passing through the formality periods of their lives.
"In the effort to eradicate the criminal tendencies of the Negro the problem is almost entirely that of education—a spiritual, moral" mental. The temperament of the Negro such that there is little hope of reforming him who has already begun a career of crime. The Negro who has grown to maturity in an atmosphere of ignorance and vice has little fear of the law when for any reason, he is aroused and the legal penalty prescribed for crime seldom stays his hand.
WE AGREE WITH MR. EVERMAN
It is probably true that the average person in Dallas who is forced by circumstance to ride the street cars will not be materially interested in the technicalities which are involved in the arguments of the street car company with Mr. Everman, supervisor of Public Utilities in Dallas; but all of them are vitally interested as well as exceedingly pleased with the news that his recommendations are to the effect that the increased fare be refused the car company. And particularly is this true of the Negro riding public which, at best, in no position to stand the increased expense of transportation to and from jobs which support them and their families but meagerly.
All of this is the opinion of The express despite the published letter of one member of the race who, for the purpose of attracting attention to himself, it seems, agreed that the car company should have the increased fare. It is unthinkable that a group of people as poverty stricken as are the Negro inhospes of this city could welcome any addition to their already very heavy burdens of debt and current expense.
BATHING, YESTERDAY AND TODAY
By Algernon B. Jackson
When, back in 1812, the first bathtub was installed in the home of a wealthy manufacturer in Cincinnati, the daily press was fioded with letters from into physical lines.
These medical men said the shoes of taking regular baths would be dangerous! The idea was criticized so severely that in one of our several commonwealthies the legal nature, setting upon the tip given by doctors whom the public thought know more about health than any layman, tried to stop this "devilion idea" by imposing a tax of $20 on each bathtub installed.
Hostel, following this lead, set fully prohibited baths, except after proper medical advice, the order of ordinance being drafted by phrase, lang.
In Philadelphia an orifice which would have made it like to take baths except after March and before November was defeated by only two votes.
Do not laugh! It is no cause for disability. Remember that when a profession takes itself seriously, makes certain brave actions and finds later it was a matter of course, given out, per in the atman of his very folk it depends upon for a livelihood.

AFRICAN METHODISM IN THE ACID TEST -- THE

*W. M. PLATT, Principal* GAINESVILLE — The St. James Lille Madre Woods, Reporter, C. M. M. This marks the one hundred and forty-first year since the Father of African Methodism began their battles for the religious cannon of the Negroes of the world—although nothing of such magnitude could have been imagined by them at that time, notwithstanding that has been the accumulated result. It is also the one hundred and twenty mile stone of its original life, and perhaps all of them, in its long and eventful history, have question so vital to its present status and of such farreaching consequence to its assured equally scrupulous position in the future development of our race life, as those with which the delegates to the approach the Conference will have to grapple. It often harponed in the life of Israel that it became necessary for them to go back to their old and central land—marks to get their bearings—in fact it has been true of all great movements down the ages, when they have arrived at a crisis, its leaders have gone down in quest of the spirit and inspiration which furnished the orlaine urge.
I think we may not be able to think of such a course at this time in the life of the A.M. Church. Much may be gained by sympathetic study of the monstrous records of the early days and catch the spirit of the father, especially the very frank way they approached their delicate problems. One which is especially interesting to us is the case of the Rev. John Tiel Coker, who was the first daily elected bishop of the church—elected one day, remained the preest and was subsequently tried before a committee for some crimes which is not mentioned in the records and was found guilty and was被判了 from the church. No man had been, except for the movement that he, and his friends at that time was seemingly intolerable, and from the view of the expediently the infast Church he reason of his distinguished service might have justified itself as badly.

many hearts on holy fire—how much such a thing can be brought his congratulation to us today? He was the first to open and prescribe a book, and prescribe a meal needed today. The closer we study these stories the more wonderful Jesus becomes to us, think. He was Creator of all beings, king of kings, and Lord of lords, and His pleasure was the inexhaustible store house of His Heavenly Father, who gave us His journey, despite the distance, were made on foot, he was thankful for a cup of water as He made His toil journey over the dusty roads and up and down the hills, and asking only for a piece of bread from the village to be honored with His presence and ministrations of us.
He truly made himself of no reputation, when He had performed a mighty work of healing. He charged the hospital to tell no man, and when He found himself in the midst of a great popular follower, He would retire to the homestead of the wilderness where he would spend whole nights in prayer and meditation. He lived for all himself, whether Dr. Nicolemus of the Sanhedrin Court, who came under the covering of darkness, the woman of the deposed Surinants of study, reputation at Jacob's well, or the condemned woman surrounded by his accessors. To us it seems strange that such a life should arouse an余音 in any age, yet the greatest outrages were heaped upon Him, but "Those that tread lofty and lonely roads of duty and heroism" in pioneering ways of discovery and refutation and righteousness must expect to be mindierhood and open, possibly counted even mad by their dearest friends.
The Wright Brothers and their sister of Dayton, Ohio were considered crazy because they insisted upon trying to fly; Morse was called a mad man many times before he could induce Congress to aid him in establishing a tele

GOLDEN TEXT: He came unto his own, and they that were his own, received him not. But its many as received him, to them he gave the right to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Matthew 12: 12-24, 20, and Luke 11: 14-20, we find the important connecting links between our present lesson story and the one studied last week, while the selecting of the biblical stories is recorded Matt. 10: 2: 21-18, and Luke 6: 1-10. The life of the man of sorrow who was acquainted with grief, his sin is questioned by his family and friends, placing a painful strain upon those sacred ties so, dear to Him, the maltigant charge is made by the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem, that He was in league with them, and that they were in power, and He had been again rejected at Nazareth, the home of his childhood. He is still at the height of popularity, but. His enemies are constantly increasing in numbers and evil determination. Jesus attended the twelve chosen men and a large number of sympathetic disciples, and He was to health from incurable diseases, attuna to Capernaum. Missionary journeys through regions of Galilee where He had preached the gospel and healed the sick in their towns, villages and countryside.
It was not an unusual sight to see a great and popular able or teacher tour the country with a great train of followers, and the orientation attining to the leader was not dressed in the orientations attining to the gospel. There were no large tassels ornamented His simple harp, while there was an symmetrical enthusiasm and consolation about the group which marked them peculiar people. During the
bridge the between Washington and Baltimore. Dr. Alex Gerald Bell was considered a mad man with a usefulness. Gerald Bell was first telephone on exhibition at the Center for International Studies in Baltimore, and added mud to entertain the idea that he could get rid of arrogacy and still preserve the Union. Richard Allen was considered a religious fanatic in the midst of a brain storm in the Church and held the foundation of Mrs. E. M. Church and the worlds benefactions have been those who have had the courage to be different from their neighbors.
1—The Sanity of Jesus Questioned
The report reaches Nazereth that Jesus is at Capernaum that thronged with multitudes and so occupied with the crowd that does not take time to eat. His kin people decide that he must have given away the worlds benefactions have been those who have had the courage to be different from their neighbors.
Being just a days journey, they decide to go and take charge of Him — get Him home, away from the crowd with the hope that He might be restored to his position. He is made up, and they send for Jesus in the midst of Him — get Him home, and bothers were outside and desired to see Him. Ever ready with a reply to any interruption, taking around on His disciples, He asked, who were His mother and brother? and then uttered a truth which has been the subject of much debate — that those who do the will of God, His mother, it is stranger that people can shout themselves
hoarse, throw their hats in the air, jump up on the seats and cheer for hours at the games, prize fights, political rally, or at the theatre, but when one becomes enthusiastic, differ as to the extent that Mary shared the opinion of the rest of the family auto the condition of Jesus. Some think she was in full sympathy with their Nees, while others propose the conflict that their attempt to bring Him from His work would be likely to create. When Paul was speaking before the king with spiritual power, the king would make the mad. "We need more of such sanity. Doth make the mad." We need more of such sanity.
2.—The Charge of the Scribes.
The ever increasing popularity of Jesus had thoroughly apposed he ecclesiastics at Jerusalem — time had come for definite action. They seem to withdraw the commission which had been sent out some time before and send a new well selected group not so well known to the followers. He was a man who had a great deal of the same, but his fame as a wonder-worker had led thousands to believe on Him — their chief concern was to discredit this influence. They saw the wonderful work of Jesus—cure of all diseases were perfected at the laying on His hands, demons were expelled at His word—a man both dumb and blind is healed so he at once spake and saw. How could they disport such mighty works? How may actual re-h流通? How may the great man be? How may they try to discredit commendable work? We have known preachers even, to destroy their usefulness in a new congregation trying to show the weakness of their predecessor. These scribes attributed the mighty works of Jesus to Satanic influences. "He hath Beelzebob and, by the prince of the demons casteth he out demons." It is said that the great man was the man who had made the great thing but this is a serious charge and must not go unhallenged. The name Beelzebob is likely derived from Beelzebul, the Fly god of the Philistines. Flies are often such a plague in the East that a fly-god was often necessary—it would also be quite natural for the later Jews to express hatred of their ancient enemies, the Philistines, by calling Satan by the name of the god of the god, and by the name of the foe-hanging rebuke from the Master. He pointed out the fallacy of their argument by showing that a kingdom divided against itself was sure to fall—the name was true of any divided house. To this they could not reply. He put these enemies to shame before the multitude and they slink away. The fact that the Protestant Church is divided into two hundred denominational groups may account for the slow progress it is making in saving the
3.—Nazeretz has its Last Chance.
Once before Jesus had been cast out of His town, but after His fame had spread far beyond the borders of his village, he came to the town to feed the hood, and is rejected — it is not recorded that He even returned. We should be careful not to miss our last chance.

d
From active service, the life of the old, no, don't regulate. He's sad thing to have to fall out of the office. Now the Bishol was not as sad as I did the old age. He knew that the Church had provided a pension of $17,600 per muns. but the thought of the pre-war period was not as much as in the pre-war period. In which he had moved to being good, an O.N.T in an annual conference one day and the first of the two years of an old-old visit. He has been put on an in-slighter who has been put on the superimated list the day before. Of. Oh, no. I would not find a show that is being a test of the government's heart of the Christ was the most that the Church was having. Without the power to be the God, we are the God.
d
What will the general conference do for the MAN WE LET'S IHIN? A more important question does not confront the delegating. You think about the old test but this is the question that is going to test the love of the Church. I think on the end of the year, the Church will be the man. We'll try to find the MAN WE LET'S IHIN? What will be the man we do? What is the answer to the question? So we have done the most. What we will help him to do with a broken heart because of the irritation of the Church for

Only One-Fourth of Negroes of Adult Age Vo'es Discovered by Durham Corference
Negroes are organized into 47,116 church groups, holding property and financial annual budgets aggregating more than ten million dollars. More than a hundred five million dollars worth of property, Holmes assures. No church in the group has in the group there is the clash of property, Holmes assures. Occupation other than church, the collective knowledge. Without the group and in its contact with whites there are problems of segregation and discrimination; and both militant and without there are problems of recreation and education. The strength of the Negro church lies in its education; a supporter of social service work; and a center of social service work; and the leadership of the Negro group. The strength of the Negro church lies in its sectarian and poverty palliative efforts, its emphasis on emotion and neglect of intelligent development.
